  1. That really is a shame. Yeah, the lips are different, for sure. But her eyes seem a bit "off" to me, too. I know acting is a TOUGH business for women, but I hate to see them butcher themselves.
  2. As one that has not watched GH regulalry - or at all - since Scrubs left, what the hell did Kelly Monaco do to her face?! It's not just simple age; she looks different.
  3. Never even was aware that Don Rickles show existed. Huh! Louise Sorel was also once married to actor Herb Edelman. He occasionally played a detective on Murder, She Wrote but will forever be known to millions as Stan Sbornak, feckless ex-husband to Dorothy Sbornak, on The Golden Girls!
  4. Don't get me started. I think LD/NLG STILL had great chemistry as Cameron and Alexis, but then the stupid fake DD crap and "Dobson" (UGH!) ruined everything. I never read about Lane Davies saying that, but if he did, awesome! I do know GT raved about SB and Mason in many an interview.
  5. Linda Dano, God love her, managed to pull this off, but what an UGLY outfit.
  6. And it still won't mean jack schitt to the average American, Carl. This is the usual kabuki theater. It's what self-important politicians do.
  7. Bad things happen in politics, then the news cycle finds a new shiny object, and on to the next. Look, I realize the right has perfected immoral outrage and lies du jour, but if we highlight every misadventure, every burp, we'll all end up in the mental ward. All we can do, realistically, is vote as if the country's life depends upon it. It does. And we just ride this out until the next Big Thing. Because there will be plenty more.
  8. Politico, the right-wing shill? Shocker.
  9. On the one hand, if this is true? He needs to face justice. But some have been posting tour articles on Twitter from 1965 around the alleged time, and it APPEARS he wasn't where this allegedly happened. But, if proven, there goes his legacy.
  10. This sounds cold, and I don't mean it to be, but sometimes, reality is cold. Afghanistan's current plight was going to be its fate regardless of how long the US has been there. But in TWENTY YEARS of training forces, the fact that these same people just cut and run - leaving the weapons given by the US! - rather than attempt to defend their nation tells me that our training was in vain, as were all the deaths of US troops in the last two decades. It is the new Vietnam. As such, the American people there and allies need to leave and let what happens, happen. Because it's increasingly clear this was unavoidable. And this will always be Dubya's legacy.
  11. THANK GOD FOR THAT! (Sorry. But I HATED that Cassie basically skated in sabotaging Mason/Julia, and was never discovered.) So the fact that Mason basically toyed with her, I just consider well-deserved karma. And I also hated that Warren/Lionel were undone as father and son just to service Cassie's psycho assss. She got everything she deserved.
  12. Which is why such intense focus, even if they were popular, was a bad idea in the long run. The show should have branched out sooner if they wanted to survive.
  13. Hee. That's pretty cool!
  14. Not much of them out there, but here's a clip of Kelly and Connor:
  15. I recall that (now-defunct) Soap Opera Weekly had fans write in how they'd end the show, and one fan said Connor would come face to face with all of Kelly's past loves (viewer obviously had a sense of humor!) and Connor would still decide to take his chances, so it seems like at least some of the audience did respond positively to the pairing. Like I said, I preferred CG as Kelly, but Connor/ED's Kelly really did have potential. A shame the show ended before it could be totally realized.
  16. I think I have made my dissatisfaction with Kelly's recasting with Eileen Davidson very clear. However, in the last year or so, ED's Kelly and Charles Grant's (a.k.a. Evan Bates [Frame], Another World) FBI character (originally brought on in connection to Cruz, investigating...something!), Connor McCabe, did have potential. Of course, the fact that Connor was not Cruz and Cruz was no longer involved with ED's Kelly made it an improvement right there.
  17. In short? Nothing. It wasn't even mentioned, IIRC.
  18. No, Justin Gocke (RIP) faded out around 1991 or 1992-ish. Around the time Gina gave birth to Channing III and married Lionel.
  19. That was what I recall reading. And Cassie was never hinted as being CC's. She was his foster daughter that lived with the Capwells for a time, around the time she was assumed dead, but that's it.
  20. Same. CC would have been the Stefano DiMera of SB with his endless spawns coming out of the woodwork. Between Elena (although, history-wise, she made sense!) and drippy Greg, that was enough.
  21. Oh! You're right. (Can't sleep, hence the insanely-timed reply.) I must have blocked that out, but it's returning to me. Yeah. So, that sucked. (As did Warren treating Lionel like s-h-i-t to make it fly. Now I do remember, although I'm fuzzy as to whether Warren apologized for being such a turd to the only man that ever raised and loved him!) I do know the rest I talked about before the cancellation was being hinted at, with CC/Augusta/Warren. (Sort of an inverse Lionel/Sophia/Channing [Brick]). But, yuck.
  22. This makes the show's ending possible story threads come full circle. Just before SB was cancelled, I recall hints the show was throwing out that Warren was not Lionel's son [which would have been ludicrous under John Allen Nelson's version of Warren, who looked and sounded like Nicolas Coster!] and there were threads regarding CC/Augusta. Which would have intensified the Mason/Warren rivalry [started with Cassie] and made the family tree very weird for Mason/Julia [remarried by then!] with Warren as her nephew and Warren as POSSIBLY [as the story was never completed, naturally!] Mason's half brother. Sort of glad the show ended before that dumb mess could happen, as those hints seemed to point that way...
  23. I respectfully disagree. Lane Davies wanted out. I LOVED his Mason most of all, but I really think, for the time, Gordon Thomson did a good job. (Terry Lester was...okay, but he was involved in a lot of wacky hijinx during his brief time, and he looked more like Sophia's son than Pamela's.) I did really like how GT's Mason reacted to Eden's "death" after she fell from that cliff and went after the shrink (same shrink involved with the Julia/Dash mess) at The Oasis. And GT's Mason was all about Julia, which I loved. Even when with Cassie. Had Julia crooked her finger, Mason would have dropped Cassie like a hot potato - which is exactly what happened. LD's Mason and Julia were SCORCHING. It was that version that got me so into them! But LD's Mason always seemed to have a foot in the past with Mary, so I liked that, with GT, Julia was his one and only. And when Eden/Lisa was coming apart, I remember the scene at the Capwell mansion when Eden passionately defended Mason to CC, and even ripped CC for it. It was never explicitly said, but I think, by that time, Eden probably knew Mason understood her plight, both because of Pamela and his own DID with Sonny, etc.
  24. Didn't Brenda sort of bomb with the whole Dante crap last time, though? Not slighting VM, but the writing was so bad, not even she could elevate it. And considering it is still s-h-i-t, for the most part, well... Not gonna lie. I'm shocked that Charles Shaughnessy is joining GH (again, apparently!) in a contract role, but since Days has no use for Shane, a job's a job!
  25. Welcome! And I think this is a very astute observation. Nice to see a new POV. Mason probably had no idea what a healthy romatic relationship before Mary was, so your take seems on the nose. Glad to "see" some new people here!
