  1. Alan did ask for questions on Facebook and on Twitter —Jennifer from RTV asked.   Something like having actors CV would help especially for those with theater backgrounds as IMDb is not appropriate for regional work. Alan seemed to have done that for one of the AMC related chats.

  2. My feeling is if an actor doesn't have a great connection, I'd rather have audio only instead of poor video. Alan does eventually make the YouTube chats into podcasts so I'd prefer that then people freezing and not being able to interact properly.

Both Liz Hubbard and Kim Zimmer have done other chats with Alan (with less participants), but due to who they are even a 50 minute video alone or with one other performer, you would be unlikely to get all the stories out. It is one of those problems you want to have doing an interview more to discuss than not enough. The viewers who flocked to Alan's channel first were the GL and ATWT fans (due to who his first chats were with), and Alan knows those two actresses, so perhaps it is easier to deal with than having all  performers you may have heard of, but never watched or worked with previously in some fashion. (I still wish someone could get upload provide the interview Jada did years ago with WOST - wasn't a member had a slow connection so it wasn't worth the money as I couldn't watch any videos.)

The only thing that could "fix" the over-talking is something I doubt Alan would want to do, which is to mute people if they weren't the one the question was addressed to, as then we'd be apt to see someone moving their mouths and have to find someone who could read lips to figure out what we couldn't hear. Since Alan isn't an interviewer by trade, and hasn't watched TD it isn't as if he naturally knows what kinds of questions to ask or about who worked together.

I think having multiple people for chats about TD though is understandable, because of how long it has been off the air and how long some people have been out of the business. It is a bit of a different when it is for ATWT or GL where most of the cast is still alive, so people can interact with their actual on screen partner, character's family and "reunite", with TD that is really not possible for the majority of the performers.

I'm hoping that everyone gets a chance to speak on Friday and there are no serious tech issues.

  3. I actually am interested into the reasons why someone falls into a rabbit hole that causes illegal activities. Ted Cruz supporting Trump so much is a surprise, but my only guess is his constituents who reach out are on Trump's side.

    They arrested podium guy....

  4. The people who enacted the law in Pennsylvania allowing mail-in ballots were the Republicans as they are in charge of the legislature. So that complaint is one I find frustrating as they changed the law, and it backfired on them, and now want to change it.

  5. Grant did not act professionally with Judi and did things that nowadays would get him into trouble. As he got older he stopped behaving in that manner, and ofc he does have friends from the show. Judi admitted to this without going into any details, but it explains why they moved Beth away from Phillip when it was possible.

  6. I agree that certain people could have had a bit more time, but I doubt it was supposed to go over 2 hours.

I think James Goodwin has a sense of humor, so people were glad to see him, I laughed when he said that Peter and Jerry weren't nice people, or whatever it was, because you could tell it wasn't something awful or based on reality (like other awkward moments during the livestream.) I liked seeing Rachel and Peter together, and liked that she was the only Michelle he interacted with, as why not.

When I think of the Johnny Bauer cancer story I think of the story Beth shared about part of the set going on fire during that scene with everyone holding the candles - no idea if it was the take used or during rehearsal and how Beth, Kim and Jerry were trying to stop the flames, as they were closest to the fire.

When the camera fell I was worried the chat would end, and we wouldn't see everyone. It was different the time that Alan was cut off, and the attendees continued chatting without him.

I wonder if Paul calls everyone babe, and Alan did seem shook. Paul is comfortable in his skin, which is a wonderful thing.

The Kim and Beth being on at the same time was so short, unlike the part with the four musketeers where I felt relieved when they brought in Tina Sloan.

bl (who watched the video of the Shayne reunion last night...that made the Thursday livestream seem a lot less messy. Kristi's comment about Kim's treatment of her, and the chat about Larkin Malloy totally entertaining. And well hearing about Chris Bernau with Kim's Max, well why can't we get more of that content. People talking about Chris....)

  7. When Ryan’s Hope was moved to noon ET did it lose any of its airing stations? Meaning a local news cast meant no RH in that city or If it did air it would be overnight if anything? That could influence ratings a lot.

I liked this chat though it meandered in a way but I wish someone had corrected Jim as he misspoke his character’s last name. And I can totally believe that Iran Contra screwed up the ratings too as that preempted people in different areas.

eta I was glad that Cali stopped In to chat as she was on the program too.

  8. Local cable access in the NY area in the 80s — the font typical the spelling oh my. I thought the lead director Bruce Barry was still alive as I don’t recall any discussion of him not being and he has been in photos on social media when parts of the male cast got together.

I never saw this before either so thank you for posting.

  9. The PA government has not given any indication that this is temporary, or what needs to happen to lift the order, which they did back in March/April opening in May/June. All they have said is it is going to get worse with cases (even with this shutdown, which they refuse to call that - call it what it is don't act like you are giving people a choice with testing off the table to leave.) They need to be more transparent, as in NY with the clusters you know exactly why things are being closed in certain places. It is possible that things won't go back to normal until Spring or until there is a widely available vaccine which takes two doses over a month period, so maybe by April or May people can see their families if they aren't in the same state, but only if you live in PA, as the neighboring states don't have the restrictions at this time. Also since people are allowed to commute into PA, and/or people from PA can commute there as needed, the spread is not going to be fully stopped regardless, so it may help some spread, but not enough if people stay in the town they commute to and do things they cannot do in their home state over lunch. At this point, PA cannot go into a stay-at-home order due to the Trump appointed judge stating the last one was against the law. Due to the politicization of COVID-19, and the court cases and strife between the Democratic governor and the Republican lead PA assembly, I was expecting some sort of comments of reaction from the opposition, as they went off when the governor vetoed their bill to change the capacity of people allowed in certain places.

There was a meeting this weekend with the governors from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania who are said to be working together, but only PA has changed the rules for the entire state prior to Thanksgiving. They should have made this change together, and by not doing so, it adds more confusion as people going to PA may not hear about it until it is too late to do anything about it. The states surrounding NY had more positives than acceptable to New York for weeks, but they didn't shut their borders due to the interconnected nature of the states, which I expected to happen before PA did it.

bl (who doesn't like sharing her real life issues, but I was supposed to be seeing relatives last week, but someone wasn't feeling well, and they could get a test, and they didn't have COVID, this was a relief, but now they are all upset with me for not wanting to travel in the middle of the pandemic as they were willing to travel here, BUT there was no restriction at that time, and we are dealing with financial issues when they come here, but if I go there it is for relaxation. Basically I said unless I can get easily tested, they won't see me until things change, as I cannot quarantine for 14 days, so I'm the one who has to be alone over this holiday and probably Christmas/New Years. You can be upset about me not being able to come, but not upset with me for wanting to do what is right, as I have to go into an office for an essential business that isn't healthcare on a regular basis. And unless there is an outbreak on my work's property or I get sick myself, I can't pass the CDC pre-screening process, and even get a test at a local pharmacy.)

  10. I am surprised what is going on in PA hasn't made it into this thread yet as it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. Starting on Friday they want everyone who comes into the state (who isn't a commuter or an essential worker) to have a negative COVID test taken at maximum 72 hours prior to arrival, and if you decide to leave you should take a test before going and don't go if you are positive. The thing is in most of the commonwealth testing is not widespread and only available based on CDC guidelines meaning you have to be already ill, have a close contact who is positive, or work in healthcare.  If you live in PA and leave you are to quarantine for 14 days at home once getting back if you can't get tested and if you don't follow the rules you could be fined. So basically they have cancelled out-of-state travel for the foreseeable future due to lack of available testing, but trucking etc. won't be stopped. Before this was announced you could visit certain states without any testing or quarantine needed, which is what New York and New Jersey are still doing until it changes. There has been no information how PA is handling people coming into airports without a negative COVID test, will they be sent away, fined or will it be ignored and then this order hurt a lot of people's holiday season as they followed the rules with potentially no consequences for those who decided to break the rules.

The other thing that was announced was if you go anywhere outside your home you need to wear a mask even if you go to see a friend or a family member in their home. In public places the mask mandate has been a thing since the Spring though some people do not comply. The new mask rules are what I've seen the most complaints about, not the news that they were shutting down out-of-state travel messing up Thanksgiving plans for many people less than 10 days before the holiday.
