Originally when Marj was told she would not longer be on contract she said she was done in 2005. She went away on an already planned vacation and came back.
Why would Zimmer write about Parker and Simon? She barely worked with them...

Michael Pavel's involvement was eventually remembered, but for a time they totally ignored it. That was part of his write off and how Jack knew that Michael was involved with the set up to destroy his writing career.

I downloaded Bert's get together years ago and have the files somewhere. I won't call it a funeral as it was people in the living room of the Bauer house. Also, Charita had really died so it was supposed to honor the performer and the character, which it didn't do. The Maureen Reardon gravesite portion being shown only got a lot of people upset back then at least it seemed so in the magazines.
An excerpt of the Hinsey book was in the SOD dated July 5, 2011 and she writes about the production model, with comments from unnamed sources. Very interesting as it sounds like everyone there except EXP thought the test episode sucked.

There was a beginning of a Roger/Sonni relationship, but Michele left before the story was really told. I have the bridge episodes on VHS somewhere (got them from somebody who had them)... From what I saw she did a great job on the program, but the writers strike made the plot very convoluted.

Supposedly Jackie was killed off due to the recast not being liked.
Ed's birthday is in December, why would they have a birthday party for him in the summer.
I understood when reading about what was going on at GL why they dumped Adam and Barbara. Holly and Roger were both gone, so where was the story?

That story was bad. I can't disagree with SOD, and it was very disappointing to see such a great couple end in such a manner.

He passed away in September of 2009. Jameson Parker as someone on OLTL was able to get other jobs at ABC shows due to the soap connection. P&G soap performers didn't have that ability. That's what he referenced. There is a lot to read, and I haven't gotten through all of it.

This blog was created by the wife of the late Tom O'Rourke (Justin Marler). It links to a lot of old articles about him, the info he was given when he auditioned about the Marler family and some video clips. Also on the page is part of his journals from his early days at TGL. In 1976, they taped the show the day before airing. He also talked about how ABC was different than P&G when it came to the treatment of their stars as he was friends with Jameson Parker. http://thomasorourkeactor.blogspot.com/

The GL cover in 1997 was done pretty last minute IIRC. There had been discussion during SOD GL chat about will GL get a cover for the anniversary. They took note, if you read the article in the actual magazine about that anniversary other than what was quoted at the photo shoot, it is mainly quotes with JvD and not with everyone.
The SOD section on AOL had interviews and such and gifs of all the covers available for download. Unfortunately I think most of that has been lost, I'd have to find floppy disks and pray that I can get them read and working to share that.

Supposedly Maeve left to spend time with her kids, of course that may have been just said to keep quiet about the real reasons.

GT started at GL over a year before JvD left, and most of her early scenes were with him.

MichaelGL I'm guessing the Harley/Blake fight was the one at the Country Club, where Harley ended up giving Josh a black eye?

SOD and SOW talked to LK last fall about the movie Morning Glory. The pictures on Jeff Goldblum's desk were Liz's own photos including ones of her kids.

One of my biggest issues with GL in the last few years was they ruined the strong female characters by making them unintelligent. The stories became about nothing and it was frustrating.

Vanessa as a legal secretary, that's ridiculous. So who was at Lewis at the time, and why was Vanessa not at Spaulding? I remember reading that they had numerous writing teams/changes that year, so it was confusing for everyone.

GLisNo1 Is there any chance you can share some of the data you collected over the years? The only numbers for appearances I've seen available are from mid-92 forward.
Tina Sloan was talking about Phillip and Harley not being a real relationship. She said that in the 90s which caused a big war on the web. I liked Beth and Ben also as it fit with the more damaged/bitter version of her character.

I'd like to see the Norris stuff obviously. I'd like to see what it was about Stanley that was so awful and not just read about. Basically from modern era (when it went to 30 minutes through the 80s that I haven't seen)...

There were more than five writing teams at GL in 1986, so it is anyone's guess what you are seeing as it was muddled for the actors. This is discussed during the MT&R (now Paley Center) panel that was done in 1987.
