  1. For me part of it is I just wish Elisabeth Sladen would still be alive. Even with what little I've seen of her, I think she's so great and Sarah Jane would have to have been in it somehow.

Anyway, katie, I'm laughing over the idea of Tennant fangirls having that reaction. Once RTD created the metacrisis doctor, it gave anyone writing and/or running the program the option to bring Tennant back as that character who does age. If they had listened to the interview that Matt Smith and Tennant did with Graham Norton they would know that he would be willing to come back (when asked by Graham about the 50th he said partial quote "old whore...who will turn up for anything.") So seriously if asked and available he would come back again...were they too focused on the braid to listen to him?

  2. I thought it was entertaining. What confused about the rewrite about how Gallifrey didn't burn, is that how does this fit into the established part of how it was time-locked during the End of Time. The time-locking happened after this, because Tennant's doctor mentioned being married to Queen Elizabeth prior to the part about the lock. (Of course, a part of me wonders how he can remember that wedding, due to the crossing timelines, but not the rest. He shouldn't remember the wedding as other versions of him where there, maybe somebody anyone?!?!)

I like Rose, but completely understand why anyone would dislike the character as some of the early Eccelston episodes are more about her than the Doctor. Throughout the RTD episodes, Rose even if she is off screen is still referenced pretty regularly, which from what I understand isn't typically how it is done within Whoverse. Those would be reason enough for someone to not like the character. I think Piper has grown as an actress since 2005, which is a good thing. That being said if Elisabeth Sladen was still alive, she should have played the role of the Moment. I thought Smith and Tennant were hilarious together, and that Hurt had to play referee to their madness. To me Clara was just there and didn't really add to it like the rest.

The five(ish) doctors was amazing. I know I missed some of the humor as I don't know the classic stuff, but OMG I was laughing so hard I turned red. Seriously the fact that the BBC was okay with it was great.

Thanks for the link to the Matt/Lindalee stuff.

  3. Is this available online or just in the print edition?

Today the ComicCon trailer was leaked by a BBC affiliated station a day early. They've been pulling it down everywhere.

  4. The second Andy was so different than the girl that was Max and Jake's sister years earlier. I had to see her as a different character. I also hated how they made it that Hunter who she left OLTL with cheated on her as the actor wasn't available.

  5. When it comes to Doctor Who, I've only seen the modern series from series 3 to present day (except the Titanic movie, which wasn't available.) I only started watching the Doctor over the summer. I've never seen the Eccleston episodes, so I'm watching them as they are being reran on BBCAmerica weekday mornings at 8 am. I wonder if the anti-Eccleston comments come from how he was with the show for solely 13 episodes though that could just be Barrowman being Barrowman.

Thanks for sharing that interview with the companions.

  6. Yes I know about the limit of 200 videos in each playlist on YouTube. The way YouTube displays playlists is somewhat problematic. If you have many playlists they aren't all displayed on the channel main page. To see a full list of all lists you have to go to the videos section and view by playlist, which just shows the title of the list and thumbnails in the standard default display tho the other gives you titles of maybe 2-3 videos at most. So I tried search so I could see clip descriptions. I typed in March 1995 and the first five videos lists for that month were 126, 2, 10, 18 and 74...if you hit load more enough times eventually you find the correct playlist(s) for a month, though that isn't the fault of the uploader. If there is a simpler method let me know.

Unfortunately the one thing I was looking for from Fall 1994, I don't think they posted. I don't know if you recall it Katie or know if it is up on YouTube somewhere else (I have it on VHS tape with other montages, but the tape could be anywhere.) Basically it was a scene where Eleni (played by a temp recast) is setting up for a party at the Country Club. A classical sounding instrumental version of Hold on to Love is playing in the background and you see everyone else at home getting ready.

The other problems I listed where just general picky things I don't like and I wasn't speaking of that particular user. There are some Youtube channels that only have a character or couple name in a video title, without any further description beyond a #. The search function can't be used in those cases. I do appreciate the time it takes to post things on YouTube.com especially if they had to convert old VHS or even Betamax tapes to a digital format and I'm glad that other people have video collections they are willing to share.

Going back on topic of where are they now...does anyone have a list of all the actors who are going to be in new series this year? Is anyone checking out any shows solely because they cast someone liked from a soap?

  7. While that channel has a lot of content, I don't like how it is arranged. For example Guiding Light 1995 Playlist 3 has the some March 1995 clips, all of April's clips and the beginning of May's clips. Why wasn't a playlist created for each individual month? If you are looking for specific things it is really hard to find them. ETA: Granted there are a lot of channels that have this issue, and at times it keeps me from even attempting to watch classic clips as the part # whatever is arbitrary, there are no summaries or dates. Then again it may just me being extremely picky.

That being said it was nice that they clipped the Scott Hoxby (Cutter on GL) ad, I saw that recently and recognized him.

  8. I remember seeing that promo and being so angry about the change as it meant that nearly everyone else saw the show before I did.

There was a comment from the uploader in comments about how he has everything...I wonder if he has any of the old WCBS interviews with GL performers. Does anyone know?
