I loved Claire, but her GL was such a disappointing mess, and her decline was so obvious from her later GH run into OLTL (which had its moments but she should have had a better handle on that, being an urban soap in the RH vein). Comedy was not her strong point, and so much of her GL (May Merisi!) was just grating and awful. She didn’t understand GL at all.

On another note - I am also confused with the Dru story, I just watched an episode from 1994 or 1995 where Olivia tells another doctor that Dru is suffering from a condition that would make having another baby 100% impossible. Did she get magically cured or something?
I agree. I feel like the show really lost its way (in relative terms) in the mid-‘90s. The decline started IMO in ‘94 (a bit of an echo from the other CBS soaps, who also started freefalling creatively around that time).

Speaking of which, I wonder if it’ll be addressed in Melody’s memoir. Just saw the release was pushed to August. Edit: saw @Paul Raven asked the same question.

From last week: the epic Babyface/Teddy Riley IG Live battle that, on its first attempt, ended in embarrassing technical difficulties on Teddy Riley’s end. (Toni Braxton, being Team Babyface, was DRAGGING Teddy in real time on Twitter, and her tweets are hilarious.)
They finally managed to pull it off two days, and it was a lot of fun to watch live in the company of seemingly every black celebrity (in the comments - I think even Michelle Obama showed up). Just a great walk down memory lane for anyone who grew up during that amazing time of black excellence in R&B in the 1980s and ‘90s. These two masters, along with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, defined a whole era of music.

As much as I snarked on the Celeb Drag Race, I’m quite enjoying this. When Jermaine Fowler first saw himself in drag and recognized his uncanny resemblance to his mother who had recently passed away, it was really moving. And his “Kevina” Hart in Snatch Game was classic. Clever to play a female drag version of a male celebrity.

This made me laugh oddly.
Marlo Hampton also made an appearance, but it was difficult to understand her. We’re not sure if that’s because of her speech or a weak wifi connection — probably a combination of both.

Jeff Goldblum is simultaneously getting lusted over and roasted on Twitter. His question to Jackie Cox about Islam’s perceived homophobia and misogyny isn’t going over well.
Glad to see self-pitying Widow gone. She wasn’t going to get any better. Glad to see Jaida rack up another win.
LOL at this show’s definition of “celebrity.”
