Can someone tell me what was Mark Consuelos doing in 2002 that they could get Kelly Ripa back for Maria's return but not him? Or were they both still on contract during this time and he was sick or something?

I believe he was temporarily recast because he was out shooting a movie.  Mateo was in the thick of a few storylines so it was impossible to write him out.  During this time, Kelly was still on contract at AMC and simultaneously doing the talk show.

In case anyone missed it CBS reposted it (you're better off just going to YT and watching the clips you're interested in): https://www.cbs.com/shows/daytime-emmy-awards/video/mbjC49t4yecrTd0qV9XFDq4Xfv0BMTs6/the-47th-annual-daytime-emmy-awards/

This cracks me up. Eva La Rue's speech for guest performer is almost triple the length of the winners in major categories:

Eva La Rue's reaction on Instagram is priceless.  Congratulations to her!

Then de-SORASing. Someone who knows all the specific ages and years can outline the mess with Erica and Kendall on AMC, but we were supposed to buy Erica as being in her 40s throughout the 2000s. Like really?

Erica ages in reverse like Benjamin Button.

I don't recall but you've reminded me that Frankie and Bobby Warner were also buds, they were a few years older than me when I was a kid. I don't think they were ever on the canvas at the same time as adults.

That's too bad.  Missed opportunity.  I'm sure Lorraine Broderick, had she had more time to write the show, would've had Frankie and Scott interact.  Frankie and Scott fighting over the same girl (not that ho Randi) would've been interesting.

  5. Did Daniel Cosgrove's Scott and Cornelius Smith Jr's Frankie have any scenes together?  I'm watching old episodes from 1987 and I had forgotten that Scott and Frankie were BFFs and actually lived in the Hubbard home when they were younger.

Wow, Kasi Lemmons lost the part of Angie to Debbi.

I'm skimming but there are some cringeworthy errors here - the host says she went back to AMC in '93 and pretty much stayed to the end. OTOH, Debbi herself says she left the first time to follow Charles S. Dutton to L.A. and do "Port Charles", which, no.

Yeah, there was some mix up by both Debbi and Gerrad.  I think Gerrad meant to ask about her first time leaving AMC for Generations.  And then her second time as Angie was actually on Loving/The City.  After that, she went over to Port Charles.

Agreed! She was surely missed too. They could’ve asked his more storyline Questions too.

Mines too! But I can tell Jacob is a bit uncomfortable.

These things end too Quick lmaobvs.

Jacob was more thoughtful and emotional in the Locher interview.  The questions in this interview didn't really set Jacob up to express much.

Also, Billy Miller didn't contribute much to the conversation which is a reflection of his quick time on the show. Maybe if he and MCE were in an interview together he would have more to say.

Vincent Irizarry will be on Instagram Live with EW.com today at 12pm PT.
