  1. Honestly, I'm still surprised at how MB went along with the whole "Nixon Falls" arc.  I wasn't watching GH at that point, but everything about that story sounded not at all like something that MB (or even yours truly, if I'm being for real) would have gone along with in earlier times.  I don't know what kind of black magic that Frank Valentini serves up on the regular, but it's clear his is the kind you don't [!@#$%^&*] with.

I always thought Ryan's  Drew's hatred was so intense and OTT that he had to find Nina attractive.  It was too much.

IOW, you read into Drew and Nina's enmity subtext that even TPTB and the actors in question didn't (at least, not at first, lol).

I'm inclined to think that PM/EK read the inadvertent subtext as well and "went for it."

I am still not onboard with CM's version of Drew, but it does give the character a different feel than Jason-lite, which has always been my issue with Drew.

Same here!  I've never known who Drew was beyond just being Jason's long-lost twin.  I mean, who is he, really?  What does he want?  What's in his head?  What's in his heart?  Who would he [!@#$%^&*] if he had the chance*?  What, if any, is his function on the GH canvas besides his biological ties to Jason and Alan?

Lmao I'm loving the Ryan. He's giving everything Ryan gave except now we're not supposed to find it charming so I'm kind of into it.

Perhaps, we should call him "Dryan" from now on?  I'm kidding.

But seriously.  I think CM plays "charming rake" very well.  Ryan was such a nice addition to the AMC canvas before Megan McTavish turned him and Gillian into this star-crossed couple like something out of a James Ingram ballad.  It's certainly more fun to watch him like this than it is to watch him play Generic Love Interest No. 17 on all those godawful GAC/Hallmark movies.

*I guess we know the answer to that question now, lol!

I'm not surprised by it but I completely get why he is, he hasn't (to me) played their scenes with even a hint of attraction. He was entirely too aggressive and mean-spirited in his deliver to imagine any underlying attraction.

I get what you're saying, @Darn, but I believe someone - maybe FV, maybe PM and/or EK, maybe just the dude who operates the food truck outside the Prospect Studios every afternoon - but someone had to have seen something between him and CW, even if he (and CW) didn't.  Hell, you, me, @carolineg and @Vee saw it weeks ago, before the official writing regime change-over, when Ryan Drew still acted as if he wanted to hang Annie's Nina's head like a pair of fuzzy dice from his rearview mirror!

That being said, he obviously has an audience and makes a ton of money off of his low budget productions.

It's been my experience that my fellow African-Americans will watch just about any film or TV series that features us because even terrible representation is better than no representation at all.

No way!  I'm sure Locher is a nice person, but his interviewing style puts me off, quite frankly.  Plus, I'm still not over the technical issues he encountered during his interview w/ Patrick Mulcahey, lol.

There are a couple of things I have been clear about here on this board and that is 1. I don't get Gina Tognoni and 2.  I don't get Maura West.

Well, there goes *my* idea to remake "Thelma & Louise" with those two, lol!

I still am curious why the show felt the need to bring Jagger back at all as AH could have played this character as someone new and done the same things.

I'm sure I've said this before, but AH could have played someone who never forgave Sonny for turning his sister, who worked at Sonny's old club, onto stripping and later drugs - much like Sonny did with Karen - and absolutely nothing about the story or his motivation would've needed to be altered.

Jason and Michael will distance themselves from Sonny and be Quartermaines again.

I'd sooner believe that Patrick Mulcahey read my suggestions and has convinced Frank Valentini to hire Justin Deas to play Tracy's new love interest, chief medical examiner Howard "Howie" Hawks.

When t**p says leave abortion up to the states,
I hear "states rights" as a blatant dog whistle for states' rights to own humans as slaves.
But in this case, it's states' rights to control women with a dogwhistle to attract both racists and sexists.

Remember ABC's Townies, which was also meant to be a comeback for Molly Ringwald?

    Oh, dear, lol.

Speaking of ABC, remember when "Lost" became this gigantic, out-of-the-box hit and so every network including The Weather Channel and Playboy TV tried to cash in with their own versions?

But, we did get that soap-opera-IRL scene at the trial where Ms. Tylo admitted that she was pregnant with her third child, (her second pregnancy is when she was fired), and nobody could tell that she was with child until she informed the court on the witness stand.  Soap writers could never come up with an idea as unique and surprising.

All that was missing was someone stepping forward as the baby's real daddy and someone else fainting in the middle of the courtroom.
