Yeah, she did a few commercials last year to. Still very busy working. It’s obviously the show’s decision not have her more, which honestly makes me so angry. She’s an original cast member, and would make a great sounding board for so many characters, as Marie’s literally been through it all. Annoying and off topic, sorry.

Agreed. Such a missed opportunity to not have Maree Cheatham visit from time to time on a regular basis all these years.

  2. Everett sure as hell better not be related to Nick Fallon in any way.

They already made all the citizens of Salem look stupid as fukk when they never put two and two together about Bonnie taking over Adrienne's life, even though it had previously been established that we, the viewers, and the characters weren't supposed to notice the similarity (just as Josh Taylor played both Chris and Roman; Tamara Braun played both Ava and Taylor; Kyle Lowder played both Brady and Rex; the list goes on....) when Judi Evans began playing Bonnie in 2003, and then did the switcheroo of playing Adrienne in 2007 right after Bonnie left town.

They are not gonna suddenly have everyone notice Everett is a dead ringer for Nick Fallon. Nuh uh, no, not gonna go there.

  3. For all of DAYS' dollar (or is it $1.50 nowadays?) store budget and wacky taping schedule (the revolving Sloanes), they've put out a decent product with all characters' personal fallouts with the Tate/Holly drama and the continued baby Jude secret. And I'm finally caught up (!) instead of always being a few weeks behind, and playing catchup did NOT feel like a chore this time around.

And speaking of shaking-it-up wishlists -- what is the thought on Heather Dubrow? Do you think she is integral to RHOC? (I do). Or would the RHOBH cast benefit from having her around?

Yes and yes. She's very integral to RHOC as a tentpole lead. She'd also fit in very nicely with the Beverly Hills squad. If they were to switch her out, they better have a damn good plan to fill the void in OC.

In other RHOC news, David Beador got arrested for wreckless driving after speeding over 100 mph

    Good grief.

Imagine what those 3 daughters have been through behind the scenes.

NuRHONY:  More like The Real Misfits of New York. But okay, maybe it'll get better next season. I hope Bravo wisely has a Sonja or Luann pop up during a filmed event.

It wasn't any different than when Camryn Grimes won against her much older "younger actress" competition.

As far as I know, the Daytime Emmys was the only major awards show to include a "younger performer" category. Its elimination is warranted for many reasons, but being the only awards program to include it is a big factor in why it shouldn't even be there.

I've never understood why one's age should determine one's ability to be awarded for one's talents. It's ageist to a certain extent and flawed in general.

As I said above, its elimination is warranted. When there were 10 shows on, it may have made sense, but with just four shows rotating nominees every year, it makes absolutely no sense. For instance, it got to a point where you could always predict the winner or the potential runner-up simply because the eligibility pool just wasn't there. Most actors on soaps right now are also 30 or older, so there is even more reason to remove the category that was determined by age requirements.

    BTW:

Key Dates and Deadlines for The 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

    • Open for Submissions (February 1, 2024)
    • Open for Judging Sign Ups (February 1, 2024)
    • Entry Deadline (February 22, 2024)
    • Late Entry Deadline (March 7, 2024)
    • Judging (March 21, 2024-April 11, 2024)
    • Nominations Announcement (Week of April 15, 2024)
    • Gratis Credit Changes Deadline and Program Deadline (5 Business Days After Nominations Announcement)
    • Daytime Emmys Ceremony and Daytime Emmys Lifestyle & Creative Arts Ceremony — Los Angeles, CA (Early June 2024)

I agree, it just doesn't seem necessary anymore, with 4 soaps and a small pool of talent that could qualify for Younger Lead. This category, indeed the only one of its kind in any acting awards show, was created in the mid-80's in order to keep from bruising the egos of older veterans who could potentially get beat by someone who's a quarter of their age.

I’m not particularly against the AI shots, but the problem is some of them make Salem look like NYC

I don't mind the relatively tight shot of Salem University Hospital or the super tight shot of the police headquarters, but yeah those AI graphics of John/Marlena and Steve/Kayla living in the middle of Manhattan is ridiculous.

I prefer the real-life exterior shots they did around 2002, which were of Minneapolis or St. Paul, I think.

I’m just happy the show doesn’t feel like a comedy every day anymore. It’s still Days with its over the topness, but everything isn’t played for a laugh currently.

    Agreed 100%

The clownishness is mostly gone.  I wonder how the scab writers would handle over-the-top cartoon characters like Susan Banks or Bonnie Lockhart. It's no surprise they haven't bothered.

Given this photo, and our recent discussion of how Deidre Hall looks amazing (despite the lighting on DAYS), I'm starting to believe that 78 is new 40

    Impressive. Definite GILF vibes.

Always fun going down memory lane with the ratings journey... thanks for your continued work :)

  10. I don't know how reliable the online rumor mill is, but there's whisperings of Eileen Davidson returning to RHOBH.

Of course, I always love me some Eileen. It'd be interesting to see her without Rinna around. She also wouldn't have her weak sauce gripe against LVP to go on.

  11. I'm totally down for Keiarna getting a flute next season. I like her personality and she seems to fit the group very well.

Well shoot, it's no wonder Charrisse has been cozying up to Messy Mia. Perhaps even in her champagne haze, she could see the writing on the wall for her usual go-to TV buddy, Robyn.  As for Robyn, you lasted longer than most should have, which just points out how the talent pool in the Department of Motor Vehicles 😂 is very shallow.

I just find Mia so morally bankrupt that I can't root for her or enjoy her. She's an admitted ruthless opportunist.

Agreed. Yeah, this will secure her a spot for next season, which looks to be a resetting of sorts, but she's trainwreck TV, not a person you're actually rooting for.

Not to mention, she looks soooooo rode hard and put away wet.

Oh, I can totally see Mia bringing this up.

Now, I don't know about not hitting below the belt. Ever since the GEBs scrambled to get Monique off the show, it's been No Holds Barred with these women. They really will say anything (hello, Chris) to bring down another cast member. Gizelle eased off this year because of the backlash against Chrisgate, but that doesn't mean she won't revert to old habits next season. She may handle it nicer than usual, but Robyn has always threatened to 'expose' Karen, and Charrisse hates Karen, so R&C are going to be a team. And where does that leave Mia? Well, she's always wanted to roll with the GEBs.

Honestly, there is nothing I'd like to see more than Gizelle, going through the blow of losing her dad, extending friendship and understanding to Karen -- and vice versa. That relationship goes back years. I'd love to see them come together and bond.

And for those of you who want Rinna to return to RHOBH next season -- my commiserations:

Oh you just KNOW Charrisse is fluffing up her pillows in her champagne basement and dusting off her latest wig she stole from Ashley's mom to appear in next season's Potomac to drag Karen for filth.

Rinna Translation: Rinna begs Bravo to come back. Bravo says, "Nah we good." Rinna needs ego stroking from her fans, the Rinna Rimmers, to boost up her feelings of validation.

Side Note: In preparation for what I hope to be a big, splashy event for DAYS turning 60, I wonder if she'll pop back in Salem playing herself Billie.

  14. Guiding Light was the unfortunate guinea pig, as they tried to produce a soap on a shoestring budget. DAYS has had no money since 2009, yet here they are still chugging along and they're staying inside the studio. Nowadays, the Peapack style of shooting could be done on an iPhone camera, and you'd probably get better audio at this point too. Not that they should go that route, but it could be done cheaply without it looking cheap.

Not trying to start an argument either and I am not that concerned, but are there side by side pics from a year or so till now that actually shows she looks different?   I also really don't like to speculate on someone's health.  Deidre Hall is just old lol.  She's not going to live forever except in my mind.  When and if something happens to her I will be curled in a corner sobbing for days. I don't expect her to look 45.  She certainly doesn't look like any 76 year old I know.

The appalling lighting does show on everyone, IMO.

    Agreed 100%

It's okay to look older at this point in the game. She's fended off Father Time for decades. So much so I could almost believe Marlena's 2005 pregnancy LOL. Almost.

But seriously, when I started watching in 1995, with Deidre at 47, I thought she was mid-30's and I was trying to calculate how she was the "mother" of Carrie Brady, who seemed to be early/mid-20's.

    RHOP

Another dull episode with the only good part the last 6 minutes where a cameo from one of the Sesame Street cast members proved to be explosive. That woman is such trash. I'll also point out that heifer Charisse made yet another cameo, straining the stitches of whatever dress she found for herself from Dress Barn.

Wendy's lame talk show storyline...nobody is asking for that show and whatever she spent on the pilot had better wind up being a good tax write off because she's flushed that money down the toilet otherwise.

Gizelle and Ashley's clothing is absolutely hideous and will not generate a time in profit. The two least stylish cast members thinking they could break into the massively competitive athleisure space? Please.

Candiace and the "I want a baby!" storyline...didn't we live through that last year or the year before? Am I imagining that we've endured that before? I could swear we've heard this before.

Mia and Gordon's family therapy scenes are so farcical when he's simply a john who married his "stripper at a gentleman's club where they served steak and lobster who was actually richer than the john because she had an inheritance."

Robyn and her franchise launch...super boring. Who cares? When she's saying she wants a stream of income that's not dependent on an employer...but fails to realize that she's going into a highly discretionary income based business that is dependant on a steady stream of customers...

The Karen and Gizelle scene was nice.

    ICAM 100%

Exactly where is that so-called talk show debuting? YouTube for sure.

Candiace calling the G&A athleisure line just a step up from Alibaba.com was hilarious.

And here my first thought with Robyn was that she was expanding her lil embellished hat collection. Did she close up shop on that venture?

    Mia isn't worth a mention.

I can sympathize with Gizelle for what she's going through with her dad, and it's nice Ashley was able to pick up the ball and run with it for their clothing business, however lame it may be.

    Your Charrisse comment... LOL...
