Why can’t we have good things like Kyler Pettis back as Theo? The guy playing him now is terrible! He’s not Theo. Heck, I’d even take Cameron Johnson back over this guy. Maybe one day his mustache will grow in.

    Agreed on Kyler.

By the way, with all these musical chairs of romantic partners, one thing I wish they would touch upon, even if in random conversation or joking, is the age differences between everyone.

You have Last Blaster Belle now showing interest in Chad, who was part of the teen crowd of like 2010 or something. Same with Phillip and Gabi. Then you have Jada shacking up with Last Blaster Shawn, but showing interest in Theo, aged up and graduated highschool in mid 2010's, I think.

(I won't bother with Sarah/Brady/Kristen with all the de-aging, aging, and recasting that went on).

It's not a big deal, but it's one of those soapy things where once a character graduates high school (and we see them legally getting liquor at a bar the next year...) or college, it becomes a no-man's-land of age. Hell, even the Lucas & Adrienne pairing some years back was odd.

Watching the Locher Room interviews, Zimmer seemed like a mean girl. She was probably jealous of Forbes and Watros.. both seem pretty confident and sure of themselves.. which must have driven Zimmer crazy (In a soap opera book, she remarked how she couldn't get time off the Doctors to film Body Heat as the lead so she only could get enough time off for a smaller part). So I'm sure felt jealous/resentful at both of them.. who did end up having pretty consistent careers in and out of daytime.

... and shortly after Watros left GL in '98, Zimmer was out in L.A. and the two visited and laughed it up. Whatever tension there may have once been, it was short-lived.

  3. Beverly Hills has never been more boring, more uneventful, or more irrelevant. Yes, Rachel is a great addition, and I'll always love the commentary and observations from the eternally delightful Jennifer Tilly, but beyond that, it has become an old soap opera you've been devoted to for so long, but now it's become a chore to sit through one episode. Literally, hubby and I have taken 3 consecutive nights to get through one episode at least twice this season (we end up switching to something else or turning in.. we old now, haha)

  4. Man, that Part 1 was heavy. Kind of dark in comparison to other reunions. I get where Simone is coming from re: Jackie, but Simone being Simone, she's so adamant about cutting someone off. They'll patch it up.

To me, Toya was the most annoying this season. Her pool party was super cringe, the way she lashed out at everyone including her hubby. Every few years, she's the obnoxious one of the group and this was her year again.

Now that the whole season has played out, I have no clue why they "demoted" Heavenly.

RJONJ OTOH.... I kind of have no desire to watch at this moment in time. Even though i didn't like Marge, im not ready to ingest this fake 'we made up' stuff with da Gorgas.

Yeah, I don't see this solving the problem (Teresa or Melissa?) at all for that show. As long as they both are there, it will be a toxic show I am afraid. Heck the only reason Melissa is still there is because Andy likes Joe Gorga's D.

Yup and yup. After everything we've witnessed, this screams "We desperately need the Bravo cheque!" Everyone on this show is pretty despicable, not aspirational.

I'll give Real Housewives of Guiding Light a chance. Not a huge fan of them all looking the same and seemingly the same age group (minus Dolores), but I'll give 'em a chance.

I'm a year-plus older than Ryan Gosling, so I probably was in the target demographic for JER's DAYS (or, at least, I would've been, had I also been female, lol). Yet, because I had watched DAYS for much of the '80's, I felt his stories were a serious downgrade for the show. '80's DAYS might not have been the most realistic show on the air, but I think their characters still were reasonably intelligent. In JER's hands, however, everyone was suddenly a total moron, unable to piece together even the most obvious things 'til the story said so.

Secretly, I've always thought if JER's 1993-1997 material was used on a brand new soap (i.e. Passions) and not a soap with a 30 year fan base, it never would've been a hit or enduring daytime sensation.

    NJ

Well, Bravo has announced that NJ has come off of 'pause' with Teresa, Melissa, and Dolores returning to film for the incoming season.

ETA: Marge announced she was out (and filming a new show elsewhere allegedly) on her Insta.

    RHOP

Meanwhile, they are saying the cast rumor is Gizelle, Wendy, Ashley, Stacey, and Tia with Karen, a new girl, and ROBYN Juan's Roommate back.

Interesting news on Potomac. So they're cutting Kiearna and Debbie Downer? See ya.

For New Jersey, I'm sad to see Marge leave if we're continuing with this group of women. Not the person I would've chosen to ax, but then I'm over RHONJ in general. They should've suffered the same fate as OG RHONY.

God I want so badly for DAYS to do this. We know they've kept tabs on their inventory with Cady McClain of all people dropping that they have all seasons except the second one.

Same! I'm glad someone from the long-running soaps got the ball rolling and set up a way to provide and monetize their vast catalog of past episodes. I hope Corday follows behind. It always seemed like he was itching for a way to do something like this. Now there's no excuse, haha.

Everyone loves the 90's in general, so just bring back their old cues and call it a day. The good mid-90's stuff, not the hokey stuff they started using around '97-98. They released a whole album of it (the late 90's cues) but I always wished they had released stuff from a few years prior.

  10. They really gave Amanda Woodward the John Black treatment of convoluted back stories that changed.

Surely, if Palmer Woodward was this well-known business man turned convict on the run, and Amanda was doing her thang as president of D&D, Jagger could've found out Amanda was alive and well long before Brooke did her lil visit.

I remember stuff like the earthquake episode at the end of the NBC run and I guess stuff like that would fit well into the current 9-1-1 era. But yeah, the writing definitively wasn't a priority, especially once it moved to syndication. There was definitively a lot of camp.

And hey, if this is successful maybe they can revive Pacific Blue?

Why not? Mario Lopez is always looking for an excuse to be shirtless.

But the other shows have similar problems: GH must have a cosmetic dermatologist on set because (nearly) every actor regardless of age looks like they just came from a botox/filler/laser session. Faces don't move.

What bugs me about GH is that they intentionally blur everyone's faces, whether they're 70 or 17. Like, if you're trying to conceal natural aging of your cast, hell, just go back to standard definition. It bugs me; I could never watch GH on a binge without feeling like something's wrong with my eyes.

I love Jackée whether she's playing up herself of not. She's entertaining to me, and I hope with upcoming casting changes, it won't affect her continued stay on DAYS. I'm still wondering if Eli & Lani are actually moving back to Salem full-time.

I mostly know her as the replacement Cindy on “A very Brady Christmas” and remember she did a good job playing her! She had a fun scene with Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia Y&R) who played her roommate in the movie.

I was about to say the same thing. Yeah, not the OG Cindy Brady, but she still made an impact on my Brady-lovin' memories.
