  1. == https://imgur.com/a/0ikvWfU I'm rereading the GL 1969 story projection. I believe this is the projection that got Soderberg/Sommer their four year head writing stint on GL. They kick off the story in May and go through year end. Wikipedia says they were head writers starting in Nov 1969 but this projection is written to begin in May so either they didn't start their stories in May or Wikipedia is incorrect. https://imgur.com/a/0ikvWfU
  2. Finally dug out my old GL scripts and outlines! The attached are just the first page of each document. GL 1990 Breakdown written by Nancy Watt, assigned to Rich/Lawrence (includes head writer hand written notes by either Long or Curlee GL 1988 Script written during writer's strike (Grant's shooting copy) GL 1990 Script GL April 1969 Soderberg/Sommer Story Projection!!!!! GL Breakdown.pdf GL 90 Script.pdf 1738573643_GL88Script.pdf GL April 69 Outline.pdf
  3. Hot but his "acting"skills were atrocious and the dreaming death plot was one of Long's worst...a rip off of Marland's lassa fever (sort of) on GH in 1979. Jim needed to be a half naked life guard then his presence on the screen would have been compelling..That otter fur...woof.
  4. I wonder how many episodes were written by Jacker during the strike; I think the strike lasted 12 weeks. But some had episodes written way ahead.
  5. Interesting that you think Jacker was the strike HW. We know that Swajeski got her job as HW after writing the show during the 88 strike. It makes sense that the producers found non union playwrights to work on the show during the strike.
  6. Who was headwriter when the writer's strike happened in 1981? I know L Virginia Brown and Linda Hamner were listed as HWs in Sept 1981 when the strike ended. Was Brown head writer in May/June 81 when they stopped showing writer credits?
  7. You're right. But I put anything MAGA Ellen Wheeler did on GL in a class by itself. In the 1980s context, the AW theme was the worst.
  8. One of the worst soap themes ever.
  9. Corinne Jacker had no idea how to write a soap. She lasted a year. She had a few co-head writers to try to help all short lived including Robert Cenedella who had created Somerset while he wrote AW in 1970. None of it worked.
  10. Aiden Turner is 37 and Irish. Paul might be a good choice if he can pull off a British accent; he's Aussie; how hot is he these dayzzz?
  11. Here's Days taping schedule the week of March 8th: Week of 3/8/21-3/12/21 # 14119-14126 (airing 6/8/21-6/17/21
  12. Remember: all the shows, but particularly GL, were in a race to copy and/or steal from GH which was a huge success in 1981 onward through about 88-89. All the producers/writers were pressured to do ice princess stories, copy Luke and Laura etc. Doug had Kelly/Morgan and the Nola fantasies, Pam did the dreaming death, haunted cottage stories. SFT did the jade story and on and on. Gloria Monty ruined traditional daytime even if she sort of saved it. James Reilley also ruined daytime. Two of the worst influences on the genre ever.
  13. How dare Pam compare herself to Doug! She ripped off Dallas, Gone with the Wind, General Hospital and other movies and shows for her initial GL stories. Her OLTL and SFT stints were utter failures. Doug had his issues but he made a huge and positive impact on The Doctors, GH, GL and ATWT; his one pock mark is Loving but that was Aggie's failure too.
  14. Interesting that author, Nerissa Radell, was one of AW 1988 strike writers along with Mimi Leahey. Both were hired after the strike but only Mimi lasted several years as a dialog writer on AW, ATWT and AMC I believe.
  15. Because head writer, Lee Sheldon, was incompetent.
  16. Tony Scott was in contract negotiations and quit. Terry Davis became pregnant. The writer's strike also happened at the same time. Slesar may not have been the one making the Emily decision. Lois Kibbee and Lori Durbrow were writing the strike episodes using Henry's bible with Erwin Nicholson supervising. This info came to me when I met Ernie Townsend in NY years later and I asked him who wrote the show during the strike. He told me. He was so hot in person. And loved gossiping. He said Henry had full power over most stories, that ABC didn't really interfere. It was P&G who tinkered with plot and casting but that Henry/Erwin had a lot more control than P&G gave other shows.
  17. Oh, that's right. It was Gabrielle Upton for a while, then Don Chastain took over during the writer's strike and was hired after the strike for a while. He played Max I think. Didn't Ellis/Hunt take over in early 82 and stay a year to transition the show to NBC? What a mess. Too many writers and producers. P&G execs were nuts. Who's the actor who played Zach in this episode?
  18. Joyce and John Corrington were head writers and they had for most of the run, three script writers. Mary Ellis Bunim was exec producer.
  19. Y&R can't be saved until Steve Kent is gone. Period. He's the Brian Frons of Sony.
  20. Whitesell lasted 6 months before they moved him to AW as EP (and fired Gary Tomlin as HW a second time), and David Lawrence took over as EP for the final months the show aired (with Pam Long/Addie Walsh further ruining the show with the non-sensical Judge Henderson/McCleary saga). The flood was a waste of money and they killed off Ryder, a young viable character and actor.
  21. Susan Banks updated her profile on linkedin to show she's been a staff writer since November. https://www.linkedin.com/in/susan-a-banks-65735a2/
  22. Amanda Beall and the script writers were not listed today.
  23. Can someone splice out Jenny's part. OMG how obnoxious. FJ is so classy.
  24. Alan's lack of knowledge of EON was on full display with this reunion. Luckily, the three ladies are so endearing and such class acts. Sharon is steeped in EON stories and has told more detailed accounts in other interviews and reunions; but some of the tidbits in this one were nice. This reunion is more about getting to know the actresses. I enjoyed it.
  25. Days of Our Lives is the most realistic soap on the air right now........for MAGA and conspiracy theorists!🤣
