The HIV 2001 storyline is unbearable to me. Kristen got so in love... in like 3 episodes... no build up... I am finding hard to bond with the new character. We are waiting for the Brooke scandals and just tolerating this.

This was indeed a terrible story. It was a complete mess similiar to Claudia's story in 1997. Considering that the story centered around a legacy character like Kristen it was even more stupid to rush through this plot like on crack. Within 6 months, the couple found each other, had an HIV crisis and adopted a child from Africa. WTF!?

Massimo's introduction is also quite WTF-ish. I have a soft spot for that ludicrous plot with Brooke and the Eiffel tower, though. That was brilliant.

It’s a shame Ingo has to be in that collage. What a footnote, best forgotten.

Indeed. Slap in the face to the previous actors, that B&B did not bother to get one of them back in the first place. And then the whole storyline was a waste of time - and Ingo Rademacher is no Al PAcino to make any of this worthwhile anyway

Youtube is up to Morgan's arrival. If you guys haven't seen this storyline and the next year and a half - you are in for an adventure. Morgan is the female Normal Bates.

I didn't like Morgan at first (even though this was probably the LAST successful introduction of a psycho in soaps for many years...), but as soon as the lost the baby and Dr. Tim arrived in LA, I loved every minute of it...

No, but Stephanie suspected it was Sly. He attacks Taylor twice (eps 2108 and 2119).

It was never revealed. Yet, the universal consensus always seemed to be that the intruder is Russel Todd as Jerry Birn - the somewhat strange neighbor introduced in episode #2102.

I can't stop watching and laughing. This deserves to be in the LOUVRE.

    Hahaha - indeed.

I loved this storyline. It was fresh, outlandish and impactful. ANd look at the production values: so many extras and everything. One of the last truly big hoorahs of B&B

Guys, me and my husband were on a little pause in our watch from episode 1 experiment... and we've now began watching 1 to 2 hours every night in front of the TV. What is happening right now - Stephanie just found out Morgan is pregnant with Ridge's baby... August 2000 and let me say WOW, what a strong period for the show. The whole month of july and august have been amazing. So much action with Macy dying...CJ and Amber's drama, Brooke attacked, Morgan exposed... the show is addicting and for the first time I really can't wait for the day to end sit on the couch and play 4 or 5 episodes.

2000 was a HUGE period of the show. Fall with Deacon's arrival plus Kimberly's turn for the dark is high stakes drama and phenomenal acting. IMO; it last untils the arrival of the Latino influx in June 2001 which is too bad because that is one of the last original (!) storylines for the Spectra crew...

Wow! Is this site related to the official BnB channel? How do they have access to the full catalog in HQ?

Looks like a fan site for me. It is nothing else but a YouTube playlist with a better navigation menu. There is the exact same content as on the official YT channel.

As for the news to getmore seasons and better quality uploads - bring it on. This is a treat!

Then it got not as good when Jack Smith got more influence correct? What happened under him that fans just did not like? I know his son sadly had cancer so he was just not in it.

Now you are mixing things up in the timeline. Around 2000 there was a shift in stories that at least I didn’t like as much as the previous two years which were pure gold. If I recall correctly, at this time Trent Jones got promoted to co-head writer. By late 2002 Jack Smith got promoted to co-head writer and eventually surpassed Kay Alden in seniority. He became head and she became co-head writer. By 2005 Smith was burnt out due to a family crisis (2004-2005 were uneven…) which lead to the shift to Lynn Marie Latham and the end of the Y&R which we loved and cared for.

Was there any notable difference when Kay took over or did it just feel mostly the same?

Spring/Summer 1998 and onwards until 2000 the show was BETTER than in the previous years, IMO.

I would also blame Phyllis for the show-eating during this period.

The - as I remember it - unexpexted longevity of the Phyllis character did indeed change the dynamics of the show slightly. It was so delicious to look at Michelle Stafford playing her tantrums in the apartment set with Joani for months, though.

THANK YOU to the Angel who uploaded more 1996 episodes! ❤️❤️❤️

And to @divinemotion for the edited 2001 episodes!

For everyone watching late 1995/1996 - I would love to hear your thoughts on the stories, characters etc. :)

I have slowed down my watching quite a bit and am still in March 1995 just days before episode #2000. I rewatched 1996 one or two years in its entirety and am ready to jump from Xmas 1995 to Xmas 1996 as soon as Videoland/our gracious Vault angels provide us with the respective episodes...

I saw "me" mentioned here, so I will give you all a sneak peek of the BB preemptions for 1988 before the charts are posted:

2/15/88-2/19/88 Preempted Monday 2/15- NBA on CBS

9/5/88-9/9/88 Preempted Mon 9/5 & Fri 9/9- US Open Tennis

11/21/88-11/25/88 Preempted Thu 11/24- NFL Football & Fri 11/25- Care Bears Movie II

12/26/88-12/30/88 Preempted Monday 12/26- Movie Special: Quarterback Princess

Thanks a million - a dream come true to have airdates for 1987-1988 confirmed. As we have all the episodes available, it really just depended on knowing how many episodes aired in each month/year - I can now start to do the database like you did for Days. :)

@all: I just submitted various corrections to IMDb - the airdates should soon match with the actual CBS airdates in consideration of the confirmed blackout dates/preemptions. This is splendid!

Something happened cause I remember Bell once saying he'd never bring Rick back, especially with JY in the role and I know JY didn't have great things to say when he left this last time

B&B and Jacob Young had a fallout before (back in 1999). He happily returned to B&B after AMC's cancellation. Never say never in the entertainment world...

That said: dropping RIck and Maya was one of the super stupid decisions in the 2010s on B&B - alongside killing off Aly. The show had such a strong momentum going (2014-2015) and totally killed it.

No, I don't have edit access, but I have been able to upload as Guest Contributor.

I don't understand what you guys are talking about because I see this episode already in the February 1995 folder and also in the numbered folder under #1986.

We are talking about the Y&R episodes of these dates... 'cause they are the crossover-continuation :)

@YRfan23 have you seen 1984/1985, 2/24 and 2/27/95? It has key Sheila scenes you will love.

Sheila finally tells Mike about her past with Lauren. They're good flashbacks to the farmhouse. And it's so funny, because Sheila admits committing heinous crimes like the baby switch and kidnapping Lauren, but she leaves out important facts that are less flattering to her 🤣

She describes her and Scott as being "so in love". But she forgets mentioning that she had to drug Scott to get him to impregnate her, and she doesn't tell Mike that Scott and Lauren were married! She makes Lauren sound like "the other woman" who got pregnant. 🤣

Come on. It's THE TRUTH! 😂

PS: do we have those 1995 Y&R episodes with Sheila in the Vault?

That horrible cabin that Hope and Liam lived in on BOLD. It had like one room and never saw any bedrooms or anything lol

And the super hideous „decor“ and the producers choice to have the windows with 100% closed view because they don’t want to bother with a proper backdrop. It’s a supposed to be garden house - so what’s the point then!?

@yrfan1983 What are your thoughts on Taylor the Desert Princess storyline? It was not one of Bradley's finest half hours. It was cheesy and offensive, and clearly could not be told today.

I like Taylor's Arabian Night a lot more than I expected to in rewatch. Sure it is cheesy at times and the orphan stuff is laying it thick but it is not nearly as problematic as I imagined it to be in 2023. I loved it back then and still like the plot. Actually, the buildup in some parts of the story should been bigger. Taylor was revealed to be alive rather quickly  and she sure got used to her new life fast. And the Morroccans surely are welcoming to this stranger. The royal court is portrayed mure nicer than it is in reality (if you have checked your gossip news in recent years and earthquake news reports in 2023). LOL

As for 1994 in general: there is quite some stuff going on but focus and climax moments are missing. Backburning Sheila did not work at all. The Jay Garvin stuff happned literally in 5 seconds. Ivana made a decent villain with moral core, yet they hardly played her as such. Dylan & Jessica were super bland but did not eat the show that much. However, that court story was suuuuuuuuper bad. IMO; the show reeks network interference: there are just too many sprinkles of Melrose Place, Models Inc and BH90210 in this year all of a sudden. CBS obvisouly demanded a de-agigng of the cast and stories, IMO.

I'm up the mid-1400s in my re-watch and Zach Hamilton has just left town with Felicia. I know he never returns to the show, having watched it all, but does anyone remember if he was ever referenced again by anyone as to his whereabouts or what he was doing? Thanks!

Zach is mentioned about 3-4 times after his departure in 1992. A couple of times when Jack suffers his heart attack and Taylor is still considered "dead" (referenced by Stephanie and others...) and in 1997 when Felicia returns to town, the breakup from Zach is mentioned. And I could swear that when Taylor returns from the dead in 2005, Jack quickly drops a line about Zach. But I could be wrong on this one.

Hi guys. Have Videoland made an error labelling episodes? They’re saying episode 2305 is the first episode of Season 11, but this episode aired on 4 June 1996 (CBS). A June premiere date seems incorrect?

On VL, Season 10 is labelled 2240-2304 (65 episodes), not the usual ~250 eps per season. I assume a mistake? 2240 aired 1 March 1996 (CBS).

It got me thinking though, does anyone know which season/year they changed the season premiere date from March to September? The change-a-roo surely meant one season in particular had more than usual ~250 episodes because the season ran from March-September (the following year)?

    Thanks in advance ☺️

    IMG_4954.jpeg

    IMG_4955.jpeg

Videoland has made such errors before.

As for your "seasons" question: the official YouTube started labelling Fall seasons with 1996-1997 beginning in September 1996. However, those who remember the old cbs.com with tons of recaps and other stuff will remember that the website used Spring seasons decades longer. IMO; they started in 2011 (?) when the show went to HD and CBS switches to Fall renewals of its daytime shows.

Videoland have really effed up with DELETING all seasons except the last 200 episodes. This is very stupid since people want to binge watch and they will lose lots of interest that way. They should have kept the last 2-3 seasons at least. Thank God we have everything recorded.

This also happened before. Suddenly, they remove a lot of content... Therefore we cannot thank our gracious uploaders to the Vault enough - this is a dream come true!
