  1. Today's show was worth watching to see Gio in those jeans.
  2. Have to agree about Tanner. He's not phoning it in, at least. I don't know what the hell LSV is doing. I expect more...SOMETHING...from a guy who is not only an actor on the show but also a damn writer.
  3. Say it louder for the people in the back! I agree with all of that. The show is a mess right now, and ending Body & Soul doesn't end what's wrong with it. In fact, it magnifies the problems with the rest of the show. We have 2 more months of Ron Carlivati's garbage -- that is a LONG time. But hey, Janet Spellman-Drucker is working hard. Today we got a drone shot of Salem with everything covered in snow. She's such a visionary! (Of course, just ignore all that snow when you see characters at Salem Square).
  4. -- Luna is horrified at what she became? If this is part of the redemption of Luna, it's an abject failure. A lot of people have "incredibly unstable" childhoods and don't become homicidal maniacs. -- Stretching the reveal to Luna that Finn is her father to another day is pitiful. This is a cliffhanger? And then to give it away in the preview for next week? Jesus. -- Daphne's lecture to Carter about returning FC to the Forresters was beyond ridiculous. How would anything she said matter? --Carter told Daphne "It's like you can see right through me." I was ready to throw tf up. That is not good soap opera. -- I'm tired of giving Lawrence Saint Victor a pass because he's so good looking. He's been so awful for so long I can't remember when he was decent. Nothing about his acting looks human. He's been absolutely terrible. -- And no, I'm not forgetting the ridiculous faces that Tanner Novlan makes when he emotes. That's also on the director -- if there is one who does anything but rush through filming pages. These people know what TN's skill set is, and should have him give pensive, stoic looks, not the scrunched-face "I might cry" faces.
  5. I agree with you completely about Corday and especially Janet Spellman-Drucker, who I don't think has added anything to the show. They definitely share blame for the Body & Soul debacle. But then you say you're glad Carlivati was immediately hired by Michele Val Jean. Huh? He's as much to blame for the mess that is DAYS. I realize he won't be plotting BTG, but for me his hiring isn't a cause for celebration.
  6. Daphne is a ridiculous character. They've never given us any motivation for anything she does. Helping Steffy? That's no reason for a supposedly influential business person to do anything she's doing. That will never NOT be embarrassing to watch. If we're not getting fashion shows and real products any longer, then just stop talking about launches. Acting as if the world is waiting on a FC product launch is laughable.
  7. All to stay 9-10 months ahead. It's insane. The #1 thought always seems to be how to save a dollar. The show looks it.
  8. I agree. I do not think Frank will kill off Cameron Mathison.
  9. -- The casting is solid. Anyone saying Karla Mosley (Dani) overacts is ignoring the reason she was hired. I'm enjoying her. -- Like others here, I need Martin to improve...become more natural, relaxed. He's great looking, but I don't feel anything between him and Smitty, and honestly, I was looking forward to them together. -- Of Dani's daughters, I think the actress playing Chelsea is much more natural than the one playing Naomi, who is a bit stiff. Plenty of time to improve, though. -- What's with all the flower bushes and full-grown hydrangeas outside of Nicole's window? I don't get that at all. It's Maryland in February, and that makes no sense.
  10. Those BTG ratings are really impressive -- especially when you consider those were specials and not episodes of the soap. That has to be encouraging.
  11. Good casting with Rita, I agree -- and much better than with old lady Rachel. That was a miss for me.
  12. As long as we admit that Gio going off the rails with Q money and power and getting involved in the mob world would be wildly out of character. There's nothing about Gio that says any of those things.
  13. I should have mentioned that part of my problem with Finn is that addiction. I guess the writers need to drum up conflict somewhere, since they created none with the reveal that Chase can't be a bio dad. Will we get any conflict when we get the Gio reveal? I'm guessing no, at least not between Chase and Brook Lynn. Yep, I agree. It's so ridiculous that it's my laugh of the day right now. Chris McKenna is playing those Brennan scenes so seriously that I just can't. I've always like him as an actor, but this isn't working -- except as comedy.
  14. -- These scenes with Brennan and Joss are HILARIOUS!!! And she has to keep her WSB job a secret? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO -- Did Chase fall out of bed and hit his head? This "Let's get Finn to be the daddy of our baby" is so ridiculous. -- Diana is back with that hairpiece from hell LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  15. -- Like others here, I'm not feeling chemistry between Smitty and Martin. That was awkward, and I hope it was first-day jitters. But blaming the lack of chemistry on Mike Manning? I'm out on that. If we don't see a spark in coming episodes, it's on both of them or on the writing, not all on Mike Manning. I also find it ridiculous to criticize his looks. I mean, come on. I wanted a day one kiss between them, even if it was a peck on the lips. I'm worried that their story will have them at odds from the jump and that we're not going to see any affection. Also a mistake, in my opinion? Making their adopted kids 16 and 17. WAY too old, and I don't understand the logic there. -- Overall, a solid episode 2. Dani is hard to like even though she's been wronged, I'll say that. I like that, though. We don't need the woman scorned to be lovable. -- I do think we should hold back at least a week before handing out Emmy nominations. Just a tad premature, don't you think?
  16. LOL I think we've been agreeing a lot lately, but I always felt we were on the same page...or at least in the same chapter.
  17. Absolutely. It's really another example of how important "Show, don't tell" is. Their scenes have already become painful to watch because it all feels so forced. None of it is natural. It's not the way real people talk.
  18. Those scene-ending faces that JMW is making to show she's upset about Luna are...a choice.
  19. Yep, this guy is MUCH hotter than the actor they cast. Walking sex.
  20. "Joss the spy thing" is a good name to call it. The entire thing is beyond ludicrous. In what world does Joss look and behave like a professional spy? If they're going to do this, just do it. Avoid these scenes with Brennan painting her like some coveted asset the WSB can't do without.
  21. What an excellent first episode! Although I agree with many of the minor quibbles about the show, I don't think a premiere could go much better than this. -- I complained last week about the open and wasn't crazy about the theme. Today? I liked it. -- Like everyone else, all that hospital white has to change. The desk is too large and too all-white to work. -- The white couple? They were meh, but I can't really blame them considering what they were given. I do with the firefighter was hotter hehe -- I'm surprised Dani (Karla M) is written to be so unlikable, but I'm happy about that. I don't need the cliche of the poor, sweet as pie wife who was mistreated. This is more interesting. -- Tamara Tunie and Clifton Davis ground this show like very few others could. Impressive presence there. -- I'll give the newbies time to improve before criticizing, but Daphnee Duplaix deserves a shoutout for being exceptionally good. Surrounded by all that drama, melodrama, and good soapy camp, she came off as genuine and real, and I love that. My Grade: A
  22. A couple of people have commented about "all the commercials" during BTG. I just checked, and today's GATES clocks in at almost a minute LONGER that Y&R, which is close to drifting below the 36:00 mark.
  23. Gotta admit, I love that. Sexy, sensual, beautiful. They should let Al style Javi and write Javi's dialogue.
