  1. Sorry, but I found that post to be hilarious.
  2. Today’s episode was awful. I hated it when it aired and I hate it more now. It’s Josh Griffith at his worst as Executive Producer — a short arc that is out of nowhere and meaningless to future story. MAB was headwriter, so I don’t know who to blame more. Michael Edward Gross was great on Family Ties, but he is so miscast as this ashram guru. Terrible performance. What a waste to spend money on that set. This episode did remind me just how good Emily O’Brien was as Jana, and how they screwed up her character. She’d be great to still have around. The rest of the show was really low energy. This episode should have been left in the vault.
  3. There’s gotta be some compromise between a bad CLB dye job and this gray haired and bearded mess with the scarf.
  4. As much as I miss Olivia on the canvas, i have to agree — she was SO sanctimonious SO often, and such a hypocrite, with Malcolm, with Nate, and with others. She’s inflexible and stubborn as hell, and often very moody. These classic episodes have shown us an Olivia who is REALLY hard to like.
  5. Why was Ashley SO concerned about Nikki? She was with Victor, and I really don’t understand her uber-concern over Nikki’s health, sleeping in, etc. This episode reminded me of how often Bill Bell’s writing frustrated me. All these scenes and conversations with Nikki, but no one tells her what they’re thinking? No one says “You were bombed and passed out”? Jack cried while saying he felt like hitting her, yet he couldn’t tell her what was going on when she was sober. Just ridiculous.
  6. I like EB, but those scenes did not merit an Emmy. Don’t they submit scenes from two different shows? Because those scenes with young Adam don’t do it, at least not for me. They were sweet, but that’s about it.
  7. I like Maitland, but I don’t understand an Emmy for that performance. There just wasn’t anything special there, and I’ve seen BM do better dozens of times. Michael Damian is far from a great actor, but he was A LOT better than Beth Maitland in those scenes.
  8. Didn’t realize until today that the actress who played Carmen has had a nice role on Blue Bloods for years, playing Danny Reagan’s cop partner.
  9. PB didn’t impress me at all with the constant yelling. I also thought he handled a Nikki awfully roughly — grabbing her, shaking her. Just overdone. Shemar did look amazing. Just dayum. Of course, KSJ also looked incredibly good. That Jeremy Ross actor was bad. I can see why he didn’t last. i LOL at Ryan’s phone and really wanted a closeup of him putting the phone back into his pocket. Jill looked great in the hat. Bill Bell gave Shari Shattuck a great sarcastic line with “Nice hat,” but Shattuck blew it and turned it into nothing. God, she was lousy. John slammed a Jill and a Katherine bashed her, too — and Jill just took it. So these supposedly classy people took the low road while lowlife Jill went high. Interesting.
  10. Sorry, but most people do not think Doug Davidson is gay.
  11. Agreed. So damn good looking. Major mistake writing him off. Steven Ford was also hot. Nikki’s dress is hilarious. She looks like she’s wearing a castoff from Carol Burnett’s GWTW sketch.
  12. God, I would LOVE that. Even better, put it on CBS All Access and I’ll subscribe.
  13. David Tom was good in his first run. When he returned? Not so hot. He didn’t work at all.
  14. I loved this episode, from the enormous and beautiful sets to the wardrobe to the mix of many chars and stories and even to all the extras. It all looked special, and expensive. Just top notch production and acting from start to finish. One of my favorite classic episodes thus far.
  15. Handsome as hell, and I didn’t think the goatee was so ridiculous hehe.
  16. I forgot about Lily careening into Neil, too — and also about Kevin and Mac being interested in each other romantically. GMAFB.
  17. Harping on Shemar Moore’s acting as green is ridiculous, in my opinion. Just what did you want him to do? To show? To be? As many have said, he’s Hoyas he’ll — total eye candy. He plays cool and smooth, and he’s believable. What more did you want? i loved those Malcolm. And Neil scenes, but there weren’t enough of those two. The courtroom scenes were deadly and boring. I wish they had cut those and had done 40 minutes of Malcolm and Neil in the beginning.
  18. Those scenes with VR and KSJ were MAGIC. I loved the entire episode, but seeing those two ...that was special.
  19. The 2014 episode was nothing special. Competent, and that’s it. Poor music, far too many storylines in one episode, dialogue that was nothing special at all, missing any energy or urgency. I didn’t care what happened on the next episode.
  20. That’s not what I said, and you know it. The episodes from the first couple years don’t represent what the show became or is known for. The show’s history is not there — not in production or acting. I watched those eps out of curiosity, believing they’d be interesting, and good. I was bored. I think you have to go to the late ‘70s to see the good stuff. But thanks for the snark.
  21. You’re complaining about these episodes? Huh? I think they’re incredible. BTW, I just watched a couple episodes from 1973 — and trust me, no one wants to see Y&R from the beginning. It was not the show it came to be.
  22. What’s with all the EWWWW comments? I don’t remember it being so strange when it happened.
  23. I don't know if the rumors or true, but regardless, I don't think the music has anything to do with those rumors. I don't believe JFP is making changes because she knows Ed Scott and Kay Alden are returning.
  24. There's no question; Y&R has definitely been using pre-JFP music. In addition, some of the recently-written music sounds more like the Y&R stuff we liked from the past. Yes, for a time, the old Y&R music cues completely disappeared, and the new music was awful. But that's changed, and I wish people would stop parroting what they said a year ago. The music has improved dramatically from what we heard a year back.
  25. I'm not buying that article. It was written by someone who obviously has an ax to grind, and it all comes across as ridiculous. I'm no defender of JFP, but hyperbole and drama like that doesn't help anything....it's impossible to know what the truth is. Josh Griffith is having meltdowns? WTF? Any confirmation of this? Does anyone know what it even MEANS? I actually think the music has improved in the past couple months. The modern stuff isn't getting in the way and is used sparingly, and the old, classic cues are being used to good effect.
