  1. This stuff with Kristina and Blaze's struggles with coming out....sorry, I'm just not feeling it. It all comes off as trying too hard to me -- like an after-school special. Weve had plenty of gay characters and couples on this show in the past, and it's not like we're being introduced to some alien species. Unless we get to meet and know Blaze's Catholic family -- and I highly doubt we will -- I just don't see the point of any of this. I'd rather see these characters just like each other and fall for each other rather than watch this trauma bonding.
  2. Excellent post about Eric that says it all.
  3. Yeah, I can't believe the first strike script has this horrendous Jackie Cox stuff. It's embarrassing. And ANY Leo moment where he considers another person is a waste of my time. Just not believable.
  4. Would I feel differently about Eric if he had abs? Uh....probably. Why? Because I'm shallow and at least it gives me SOMETHING to watch. Eric isn't eye candy AND he's become a ridiculous character. I'm also tired of the rewriting of history -- all these people talking about his greatness and as if he never misstepped. Making it worse, we heard Eric trash Stephanie. SHE was the hard one to live with. This from the guy who cheated on her how many times???
  5. I liked the intro of Tucker St. John into the story, but Josh Griffith has really botched his character. He had fire chemistry with Eileen Davidson, and Tucker/Ashley would have made a great couple. Instead, JG made us wonder why Ashley was ever attracted to Tucker in the first place. There's bad and then there's BAD. There's lies and then there's LIES. We've been given no reason why anyone -- including his son Devon -- would want him in Their lives. We don't even get motivation for Tucker wanting to do what he does. Why take over Jabot? Why take over Chancellor/Winters? Saying it's "for Devon" is ridiculous, when an 8-year old would know thatwhat he does is completely outside-the-lines. It's a shame, but I'm ready for Tucker to leave. Again.
  6. I know "it's a soap" but the business stories on Y&R get me crazy. Can anyone tell me....is there really any way for Tucker McCall to take over Jabot or Chancellor/Winters? Especially with something secret and under-handed? I don't get why this show constantly resorts to this "I'll just step in and take over the entire company" crap.
  7. As a note of support, I want to say I never felt you fat-shamed Maxie -- or anything like it. I haven't done that, either. If someone wants to make that charge, bring the receipts, because we never mentioned her weight as a problem. I am appalled that once again, KS has been enabled. You know, if Meryl Streep throws a wardrobe fit, I'm OK if she's accomodated...because Meryl Streep. Kirsten Storms is no Meryl Streep. I do not think she's essential to GH and I do not think she's irreplaceable. It's just madness that they've given her so much control.
  8. LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The writing for Carter is so patronizing it makes me cringe. I can see Brad Bell telling the writers "Make sure Carter is referred to as family at least 3 times so the audience knows we care about Black people. As we go around the room and let each character speak at least one line, make sure Carter gets a line, too -- and that he expresses his gratitude at being a part of the Forrester family." Revolting.
  9. LMAO I actually started laughing when he did that AGAIN today. That's all he ever says! And honestly, John McCook is playing all of this badly. It's a complete caricature of a dying guy with those coughs and bad posture. Then there's everyone standing around talking about Eric dying. Every day. That's all anyone does. And now? LET'S HAVE A PARTY!!!
  10. I know "it's a soap" but I just hate tired, cliched writing like this -- both with not telling TJ and with using Molly as a surrogate.
  11. Did we really go roundand round with the MollY/Kristina surrogacy stuff only to end up back where we started? Sorry, but this i lame writing that will lead to every cliche plot device we've ever seen. And not telling TJ??? Does Molly have baby rabies so bad that she's keeping this from him?
  12. These Eric monolgues today about his design and creation were cringeworthy, especially backed with the melodramatic music and Katie's tears. UGH to the whole thing. He won't go to the hospital. If he can design in the office or in his living room, why the hell can't he design in a hospital room? And that purple gown he put Donna in? LOL What was special about that? I think it is time to die.
  13. All true. I was going to mention child support from Spinelli, but I hadn't considered your other points. Then they gave Felicia dialogue that sounded like it was written by Chat GTP for a Forbes website article. So bad.
  14. Can't argue with you on Li. This is a person we've never seen, and it doesn't make any sense.
  15. Yep, and this is the very definition of half-assing it. I realize she's had health problems, but if GH is indulging her and enabling her because of that, it's wrong. And I realize it's early, but this "Maxie has money problems" storyline is an eye-roller. Have we ever seen Maxie live to excess? Her place isn't extravagant, and certainly her wardrobe isn't. She doesn't have a drug problem or a gambling addiction. The "Deceptor isn't making any money and it'll take a few years" doesn't work for me either. So no one there gets paid while they're in the red? That's not how it works. I'm willing to let some things go, but make it make sense. It's the kid of story that's as meaningful as the Newmans on #YR changing positions and companies.
  16. Interesting take on Eric's development over the decades, and I think it's spot-on about why we don't care. And yes, the repetition is pathetic. I disagree completely about turning Liam dark and even crazy. We've seen repetition with Liam to the point where we're crazy about that, so it's time to shake it up. Why not turn the tables and have a redemption arc for Thomas and Hope? At least it's different. When this has run its course, they can write a redemption arc for Liam. Isn't that part of what soaps are and do? I'm not wild about what has been done to Li, but Sheila killing her? Uh...SHEILA is the one who should be killed off if we're talking about characters written into a ridiculous and boring rut.
  17. Have to agree with all of that. I'd comment on Maxie's sloppy dress even if she was a stay-at-home mom, but the fact that she's supposed to be a fashionista makes it ridiculous. How sad is it that you have to say "force her to wear it"? In what universe should an actor have the call about the character's dress. All it would take is one directive from Frank. I'm OK if Maura Wright or Finola Hughes says "I don't want to wear that because it's too low-cut and revealing." I am not OK with Kirsten Storms wearing what she wants and looking like hell.
  18. Does anybody really care if Stephanie ends up with Chad or Everett? To me, the problem with the story is that I just don't care if Stephanie ends up with Chad, with Everett, or with nobody.
  19. Who is dressing Maxie? The men's department at L.L. Bean?
  20. It's ridiculous. The fashion element of the show is now a joke. Apparently designing is "Eric touches the dress and RJ adds a necklace." There is no designing at all.
  21. I agree with all of that. With Eric, you cannot have 2000 discussions about his legacy and expect viewers to care. Trotting the Logan sisters into the room to look at him cough is an eye-roller, especially since we don't hear about his own kids. And that "legacy" included a final fashion show with gowns that looked like off-the-rack purchases from Kohls.
  22. Is anyone else COMPLETELY unaffected by the thought of Eric dying? I mean, just DIE ALREADY. I don't care about his coughing blood, I don't care about his designs, I don't care about his legacy. I don't care about Eric, period. BOLD is trying so hard to make this a Shakespearean tragedy, and it is not working.
  23. OK, that was worth watching hehe. That is a big boy -- big in all the right places.
