  1. I just looked at the debut week (3/5/90) and finale week (7/9/90) books for Tribes, and nothing is in Nielsen. Wiki says Tribes only aired on a few FOX stations around the country, so it wasn't a full-network FOX show.
  2. 12/26/77, yes.
  3. I didn't compare it to the Nielsen NBC list, so I was just thinking Win, Lose or Draw was still in its network run, but I see now that ended in 1989. Also, I noticed WNBC brought back Scrabble later in 1990 (just as a local run, it didn't seem to air on any other affiliate) up until Joan Rivers took the time slot in September 1990. I don't see any mention of Scrabble having a syndicated run, so I guess being they were the main NBC affiliate, they could just air repeats of a former network show like Scrabble?
  4. Per the Daily News archives, WNBC schedule: Ending 1/19/90: Golden Girls 11AM 227 1130AM 3rd Degree 12PM (syndicated, not NBC, game show) Generations 1230PM Santa Barbara 3PM Beginning 1/22/90: Win, Lose or Draw 11AM Generations 1130AM Santa Barbara 12PM Classic Concentration 3PM Scrabble 330PM

  6. Thanks for the continuous checking! I'm glad to see after those couple of weeks that Soap Weekly started off with in 1989, everything has matched up nicely since.

  10. The wonderful Excel sort gets us the numbers super fast, so here's a sort I just did for you: GUIDING LIGHT: LOWEST-RATED WEEKS (5.1 OR LOWER): JANUARY 1980-MAY 1992:
  11. That's the autographed photo she sent me back in 1991. Perhaps the exact one (with the autograph portion cropped out). A long time back, I think I saw her email on a casting website and asked her to confirm her birthday (not the year of course). She was one of the contract cast members I wasn't able to find a birthday for, so it was nice that she took the time to answer so I could add her to the birthday database. Of course, now that she's more famous, her birthday would be easier to find!

  13. Thanks for posting that, Jam! I'm posting the relevant image where she talks about Days on my FB page.
  14. Thanks! Good to hear these weeks all matched up.
  15. Yes, for the 1990's we have the demo data for every week from January 1990 to May 1992 except for those two missing weeks (5/20/91 & 5/27/91). So, the most recent data I can post would be over 31 years ago (from May 1992). 20 years ago would be 2003. Line A is the weekly average. Line B is the quarterly average. Line C is the season average:

  17. There were no preemptions that week for any soap, so perhaps you had a local preemption.

  19. DIFFERENCES IN SOAP OPERA WEEKLY CHARTS VS. NIELSEN BOOKS (SO FAR)... 10/23/89-10/27/89: SOW has BB share at 22....Nielsen book has 20 share, 11/27/89-12/1/89: All shares in SOW are higher than in Nielsen book. Thanks so much for comparing! I see the problem with the "1/1/90-1/5/90" SOW chart. Those are actually the ratings (which match exactly in the Nielsen book) for the "missing" 1/8/90-1/12/90 SOW chart. So SOW actually never published the ratings for the week of 1/1/90-1/5/90, which happened to be the week that GH tied YR for # 1. I will make that correction on my website and confirm that is actually the numbers for 1/8/90. So, for the moment, my two best guesses are that SOW had a typo for BB's share the week of 10/23/89, and that obviously there was some miscalculation with the shares in the report sent to SOW for the week of 11/27/89, since every share in SOW is higher than the Nielsen book. So, now we know there will sometimes be a discrepancy, but so far it has only involved 1 full week of shares (and 1 share for BB). All of the ratings SOW has published so far have matched exactly to the Nielsen books. (And, yes, I don't care about the "placement" differences, when SOW places the higher share show, while my Excel chart just places them by title alphabetically when the rating is tied, so those you don't have to mention....only when either a ratings point or a share is different. Also, fast national weeks ended in 1987, so those are no longer a thing during the Soap Opera Weekly era).
  20. WEEKDAY DAYTIME TV SPECIALS (1/11/82-9/26/82):
  21. FROM THE VAULT: FARAH FAWCETT'S U/5 APPEARANCE ON "DAYS"...EPISODE # 1230...SEPTEMBER 18, 1970 In just her second year of acting, in September 1970, Farrah Fawcett appeared in one scene of "Days of Our Lives" as Blonde U/5 with Ed Mallory (Bill) and Bill Hayes (Doug). Her character does get a full name in the dialogue: Diana Washburn. The character reminds Bill of Laura. As sometimes would happen on the master telecast report, the person writing it would seem to just sound out the name, so that is why she is incorrectly spelled on the report as Fara Fosset.
  22. I only tracked the household and Women 18-49 stuff on my site, so Errol would be better to ask about the 25-54 demo, if that is available.
  23. Picking up where we left off in the 1980's, here is 1990! FROM THE VAULT: WEEKLY DAYTIME NIELSEN RATINGS: WEEKS OF 12/25/89-12/29/89 & 1/1/90-1/5/90: FROM THE VAULT: WEEKLY DAYTIME NIELSEN RATINGS: WEEKS OF 1/8/90-1/12/90 & 1/15/90-1/19/90: FROM THE VAULT: WEEKLY DAYTIME NIELSEN RATINGS: WEEKS OF 1/22/90-1/26/90 & 1/29/90-2/2/90:
  24. She left Days in April 1977, but she was the head writer from 1975-1977. The Days scripts from 1975-1977 all said: Story by: William J. Bell Written by: Pat Falken Smith (then followed by the dialogue writer)
  25. Thanks! If you can check back to the first Soap Weekly chart from 10/16/89, that would be great. Bill was still the story consultant with Days into Spring 1978, so he was still on the Days payroll until then.
