Lady Ashley like Sun Also Rises?
(Which I can't picture)
No LOL but i see your point (Ava Gardner or Jane Seymour?) I meant Lady Ashley Mitchell from Dynasty played by an Uninspired Ali MacGraw

The Monroes was head-to-head w/ Seinfeld. It stood no chance.
1995/96 ABC and CBS tried to revive primetime soaps on their networks (The Monroes and Central Park West respectively) but they were epic failures.
The show seemed nice to Me loved Susan Sullivan's Character so far she has notes of several 1980's heorines, i guess it was probably because of the time slot

Roger Grimes was first mentioned as 1981 in Enter Alexis as Alexis explained her affair with him and how Blake almost killed him during Blake’s murder trial but the show didn’t implicitly have Roger be dead until the last season.
exactly! the basis was there but they only showed the building in the last season, AND i believe No One knew Roger was dead wasn't his body stashed at the bottom of the lake? Since he was leaving and Alexis was unconcious she must have thought he simply left her

yeah they really have been paying a lot of Homages to the ORIGINal, they're even revisiting The RITA STORYLINE!!!!!!!!! URGH!

Binge watching it (saw the whole first season since saturday) i admit That while she served Her original purpose fine Katherine Ross as Frankie was really the Lady Ashley of this, A rather competent actress giving such a wooden uninspired performance, it's ok in the beginning but urgh it only gets worse through the season, i initially symphatized with her but she soon was over, no wonder Stephanie as Sable was the most Memorable part of this show, also Stanwyck was right to leave the show Connie's Storylines were rather boring and uninspired i Loved Her Rivalry with Sable and her "Momma Bear" moments but the rest was plain silly, couldn't buy her romance with the cowboy

SB missed a HUGE opportunity by not exploring the Count Armonti. In fact, they never cast him. Or even told the story about him.
I also think AW missed the boat with Miranda Bishop. I think she could have been an interesting character instead of the Iris 2.0 she wound up being.
SB Didn't knew what to do with Elena or Celeste or Terri Garber and KIm Zimmer's Characters either, after Ava Lazar lest they didn't Know exactly what to do with Santana Either

Now One of THose Who inspired Me to do this Topic, Duchess Elena of Branagh, Dynasty's very own Camilla had such potential and a rather competent actress who did a credible european accent, Yet She was there for a few episodes putting a strain on Amanda and Michael's already weak relationship serving basically no other purpose and then left, it was a real letdown

I did not know this. Thanks for the heads up. I do have the entire series on DVD.
The premiere episode was so bad. You knew it wasn't going to last. Charleton Heston was horrible in it. And why is Constance with a cowboy? The casting for this show for the most part was awful.
The show did debut at #8 tied with Dynasty with a 22.3 rating. The following week it aired twice. The first episode was right after Dynasty again and got a 19.3 rating finishing 19th for the week. The second episode aired at its new and permanent Thursday timeslot and the episode got a 13.0 rating and ranked #50 for the week.
is the quality that better? i kinda obsessessed with watching these rich spetacles in the best possible quality

what you think of Verocina redd (Mamie #2) as Victoria? never liked her very much as Mamie because she was too elegant and a bit too young

Tina is about 15 years older than JLB.
I Must agree Lorie was 21 in 1973, Tina being born in 1934 was way too old, especially if she was 14 years older Than either Victoria or Janice, it's not like Beth Maitland who was just a year older than Eileen Davidson and played her little sister,

I know i once imagined Ellen Holly as an elegant, rich woman from a traditional family, and that her favorite niece (who was White) who also adored her was engaged to racist guy who begins giving them a hard time, later she went a bit cougar and had an affair with a younger man, that's just my imagination running wild, What was The Victoria Character like?

Maybe its my head but Carla Borelli had the Sexiness Lorie had, but i'm not sure how she would do

They didn't seem to know what to do with Alice in the early 1980's, or on Jacquie's Return or her return in 1989, I would have loved that they had brought Alice Back to the show and reestarted the Feud between her and Rachel because Rachel married Carl her daughter's killer

Sharon Gabet has claimed OLTL offered her the recast role of Echo in the 80s but she was pregnant. I bet she would have been great in that role,
i sure would have loved that, the woman was Daytime's Fallon C

I Think Joanna Going might have made a good Vicky and Marley on AW, i just watched the 8 first episodes of 1991 Dark Shadows and she did a great work distinguishing Josette from Victoria, and i think she looked a little like Philece Sampler

Tim was a great choice to bring back! Definitely needed the same care and attention that they gave to Leo And Ryan. I have finally accepted the fact that AMC wasn't a show that cared too much about history. If it wasn't some silly trivia Tad the Cad mess or stuff with Erica they couldn't care any less.
Lorie has to be my ultimate fave Y&R character. Yes, she needed to be recast. She was the show, and deserve to stick around along with Jill.
imagine Jill and Lorie fighting for a man? an epic Catfight certainly would ensue! Instead They had Jill fighting Peggy don't know how it went

14 hours ago, Vee said:IIRC, what Ehlers said was she couldn't exactly do Shakespeare with an untrained actor, or that she was trying to work at a higher level than he was capable of. I don't think she said she was actually doing Shakespeare, but I haven't listened to it or seen the transcript in a long time. Nonetheless, it was a tactless, stupid thing to say while still on the show with a performer who the audience liked while it wasn't exactly feeling her.
As for Jensen Buchanan, let's not kid ourselves. Her character sucked, period. She was forced onto the show by JFP (who even invited a lawsuit from CBS to get her on as quickly as possible from ATWT), she was used to try to run down Bobbie's character and pushed into a frontburner pairing with A Martinez no one liked, only Tony Geary was able to save Jackie Zeman's job and Bobbie from being sent to the asylum or something, and she was loathed by the audience. Melissa was DOA. But if it hadn't been GH, the flagship soap of the network, we would've had at least another year of frontburner Melissa and Roy while Bobbie got sent off to Ferncliff. That's how JFP was allowed to run wild at OLTL. Not so much at 3 PM.
Well that's your opinion, I'll take it because I didn't get the chance to see much of her

Yeah until GH made Melissa Bedford an "Angel of Mercy". She even tried to kill Edward Quartermaine
Wasnt her Y&R character, a lawyer, short -term from the start?
Yeah I know about Melissa, but most of The Clips i saw of her she looked and sounded real nice, i suppose Jensen preferred to leave?
Well Actually Elise was a Judge who had an affair with Victor, However i could see potential in her, The clip above kinda shows why i also got to see two wpisodes that got her but the person that posted asked secrecy wish i intend to keep

Wendy Moniz (Guiding Light) would've been a knockout Kendall on All My Children.
Laura Bonarrigo (One Life To Live) probably the best we could get for an Jenny recast on All My Children.
I sometimes wonder how Lisa peluso would have done as Kendall

You know I stopped to think and Lauralee "Lorie" Brooks was both aborted and wasted, Bell certainly still had a lot in store for his daughter's namesake when Jamie decided to quit, a real pity! Then when they brought her back in 2002 well they lost soooooo many opportunities!
Also I'm not sure but I believe Jensen Buchanan's Character on GH and Y&R got some potential too
