Joseph, I thought Maeve McGuire was wonderful as Nicole: smart, sophisticated, chic, warm. She had great chemistry with Donald May, Ann Flood, and all the other characters. I didn't see that much of Jayne Bentzen, who was only sort of OK to me after Maeve.

Yeah from what I could see Maeve was very sophisticated, but videos with her are as rare as diamonds

Her "Capitol" stint is why I will go to my grave blaming the reason it didn't quite work as Alexandra on the writing rather than Marj. At least during her first stint.
The second one, the writing was even more atrocious but she was on "F it" mode and just hamming it up the wazoo.

Till 1999 you mean? yes when she first came back the writing for Alex was more like it should be but when she came back again after Joan Collins Left it was terrible

Yea. in her Capitol clips she is very, very strong without being...screechy.  Hey even her recurring days, in the clips I always mention as Marj's strongest point on GL, when she faces off with FauxAnnie in the attic..Marj is great.. as whomever wrote the dialogue that day just got Alex...(and admittedly, Marj makes for an earthier Alex then Bev but that's okay.) I will ALWAYS want to say..."Ya got quite a bark on ya, don'tja honey!" in the way Marj says it. Marj played what was on the page..period.

I've read that but anything I've seen of temp Lisa in the early '90s was Maeve Maguire, not Jane. This episode has floated all over Youtube (I think I first saw it over a decade ago on a shut down account that put up a lot of rare GL and ATWT content) and was the main time I had seen Jane in the role. I'm glad it still exists.

Can you indicate me the ones with Maeve? If it's not much trouble

The endless mistakes on imdb, soapcentral, and many other places around the internet is frustrating. It's like fangurls and fanboyz just make stuff up in their heads and post it as "fact."

Phoebe Dorin appeared to be a decent actress, and she did resemble Rosemary Prinz a lot, but as @Paul Raven remarked, she was not the REAL Penny. Personally, I rejected her instantly, and as I recall, the majority of the audience was said to have condemned the replacement.

Thanks for the info I guess that's why some referred to Rosemary Prinz as The Susan Lucci of her Fay she was pretty irreplaceable

  5. Almost didn't recognize Jane she looked very different from what a remembered, she was a pretty nice Lisa maybe just too nice but loved finally seeing her

80s ATWT had so many instances of double entendre and innuendo, it's incredible how, as an adult watching episodes, I now see these subtle references sprinkled throughout. Like the episodes surrounding the opening of the Mona Lisa when Sierra and her husband Tonio are sort of on the outs because Sierra called out Craig's name during lovemaking (Sierra had been fantasizing about Craig, in order to ahem, "be" with Tonio. Well, at the Mona Lisa opening, Craig looks at Sierra and says "Thanks for coming", the way Sierra looks back at him, left me thinking that she should have said "Thanks for helping me".🤭

😅😅😂😂😂😂 pretty embarrassing don't you think?

Pheobe Dorin was a recast Penny.

She came on in 70 or 71 when Irna was absent. She never had any story but maybe this was intentional as they were trying to ease her in. Rosemary was so beloved that I'm sure there was negative response .'That's not Penny!!'

Pheobe was dropped after a few months.

So no way to know if she was even promising hum??! She was fired after 13 weeks according to Rosemary's interview if memory serves me correctly

I tried hunting down some episodes with Jane Powell. But i couldn't find any. I'm usually pretty good at hunting down stuff. Maybe another poster might have better luck than i did. Or maybe there aren't any episodes with JP filling in as Lisa.

Let's just hope it was a case of bad luck then I tried too but I'm usually jinxed, and the fact that not knowing when exactly Jane played the role doesn't help much, I found the Carmen Duncan episodes so much more easily

Rosemary Prinz did NOT appear on the show in 1979. IMDB is often wrong and poorly maintained. Bob gets a phone call from Penny, whom we do not see. He then leaves for a while. I imagine this may have been a story the interim writers set up that the Dobsons dropped, as it was more interesting to have a pornstache weirdo dominate the canvas.

There is some talk about the recast  Penny earlier in the thread. Most of us never saw her.

I imagine that that credit was wrong because I hunted the episode down and she wasn't there, I don't think Rosemary would willingly only make one appearance unless it was really special

I don't doubt it, Rosemary had that interview in that she said the public would not accept another Penny and she was soon let go

Não ocorreu algo acontecendo com Reena e Justin entre o momento em que Max Dekker foi morto e Justin conheceu Ashley? Lembro-me dos episódios no YouTube que Ashley estava preocupada que Justin voltasse para Reena.

The worst part is that I think Ashley's inheritance helped Justin win if I'm not mistaken!

  11. While I'm still waiting to know if anyone knows if are there any Jane Powell scenes as Lisa Available on the internet I got a mystery I'd like the help of you more knowing and experienced fans of ATWT might help shed some light in, in 1979 there was that Penny Mystery Storyline that was suddenly dropped, IMDb even credits Rosemary Prinz as appearing in the October 9 episode does anyone know what happened????

By the way I discovered there was another Penny in 1972 does anyone know if she was any good?

Tenho uma nova resposta para as pessoas que dizem que o SB foi exagerado. Ao mesmo tempo, Days tinha alguém que possuía um leão. E um personagem que usou uma máquina do tempo para consertar as histórias.

You used that information from the Royalty Thread pretty quickly LOL sounds like me using my relatives secrets against them when they piss me off

I think he was a very handsome man..tho not sexy (to me) as Kyle as there was this weird bit of "rage" just under the service all the time. I could see Roxy and Mindy taken by this sophisticated classy guy so different then others.  Remember Bernau was not a ripped "hunk" and his younger time as Alan he looks like sex on a stick. I do think something about his looks changed after the car accident..maybe he needed some facial surgery and while still handsome as hell, maybe it just reinforced his tendancy to flair those nostrils which seemed OTT.

I just watched Days for the first time in forever...(you know Re-Possessed) and found the guy playing John improved with age..(now that he dumped the mullet, and well, he still is the worst actor on earth) and looked much earthier and sexier then the plastic young people..but maybe its just my age.

Joan was MUCH better then Marj (love her R.I.P.) but she wasn't on long so maybe while the clips are hard to find. Look for the Ex-Wives Club clips and you see her in all her wiley Alex glory!

    Oh right I'll will thanks

For the 39th anniversary of the primetime premiere of Capitol I thought it would be fun to revisit the TV Guide artwork for the CBS ad.   In comparison to Photoshop work in modern ads, this looks like hieroglyphics.  But, here's challenge: If this was the cover of a novelization of the script of Capitol who do you think they were trying to depict?

    Image

I'm going with Tyler and Julie as the central couple, Sam & Myrna in the upper left, and Mark & Paula in the upper right.  The woman running in sunglasses (and Ice skates?) may have been Clarissa (in the premiere scene where she is almost run over by Trey's limo while jogging)  And the woman in the bottom right would be Sloane (if she was played by Susan Keith).

Why Susan was considered for the role????? Or is that just a coincidence?
