  1. Derek got to play the bad guy.

That said, the 4 orphans story isn't SB at it's best. I have problems though because I adore John O'Hurley so much, and I enjoyed the movie story, his chemistry with Judith McConnell, and the character. But the orphans were dumb.

Craig was an orphan looking for family. He went from the kids at the orphanage to Robert and Tonnel. Searching for a home. Then he met Kelly and gets dumped on by her.

I'm coming up to 1990 and I've never seen it before. It seems kind of like a dud. Other than what happens with Robert/Quinn etc.

Like I won't watch that shaman story lol.

I'm interested in the orphans and Cassandra but it also kind of sounds like a big nothing Burger.

I keep repeating to myself "It’s just a reboot of your show, like Batman and you liked that."

The shaman thing is weird. Like really weird.

The orphans is actually a decent story- that has zero basis on anything we know of these characters before.

Lionel just "died". So he'll be back in 11 episodes. Lol! But at least THAT is inline with what we knew. Lionel loved Augusta. Sophia chose CC. CC still isn't thrilled with the affair, but now he truly knows.

  3. Cruz and Eden are in Paris. But Cruz is being stalked because he's a shaman now. He gets attacked in his hotel room and his shaman powers allow him to toss the guy trying to strangle him right out the window. Ok, I'll go with it. The policeman shows up. Cruz says I'm an inspector too. That doesn't mean a thing in Paris, Cruz.

The policeman asks if Cruz is the reason there's a man resting on the sidewalk outside his window.

Eden asks,Is he going to be alright?

No, Eden. He was just tossed out a window. He probably won't be alright.

    Lol this show!

The orphan storyline just keeps getting more and more stupid. Now, Sophia was around when they adopted Cassandra?

  4. I'm not going to quote, but my next thoughts involve several posts. I think that the audience was left to piece the DID Eden storyline together. There were far too many changes at the top for any of the multiple personality to be an END GAME plan. I feel like we're trying to justify it. Weren't there 3 Exec producers between when Cruz says it's like she's 2 people and when she WAS 2 people? I *think* I remember reading that the Dobsons didn't want the multiple Eden, but were stuck with it. Was Marcy Walker already on her way out at that point? Honest question because I do not know.

Multiple personalities have NEVER been one of my favorite storylines. Multiple Kristin's drove me from Days. The fact that I don’t like them aside, the retconning required for Eden's bothers me. The early year episodes were very clear that the kids were at home and too young to follow Sophia who met with Lionel to dump him. There's even dialogue about how they didn't know.

And the Laura/Bunny/Annie story was one of my faves. I wish it had gone on longer but I am probably in the minority about that. I tended to like the crazy and outrageous characters. Flame was another of my favorite characters.

I haven’t gotten to the Bunny portion of this. Just a lot of Laura. It is close though, because Sasha is dead in Julia's freezer. Shes under ice now because the blackout melted her.

I think the show did the mid scene switch to be cute/edgy as opposed to Terry not finishing the scene. In our region, we didn’t get the version where someone punched Mason and he fell down as Lester and got up as Thomson.

I’d love to know what happened behind the scenes. Terry Lester was very good and miles ahead of one-note Gordon Thomson (I never cared for his breathy line delivery). But there must have been a reason they didn’t rush to renew him.

The episodes I have are TL going upstairs, GT coming down. But I have not seen all of the episodes yet.

I just came here because I'm watching a scene with a blackout. Everyone is gathered around the radio listening to a newscast about it. I don't know if that happens in other places. It never happens where I live. We just see two flickers and then the third is total blackout. Then everyone just thinks, well someone ran into a transponder again. There might be a line during the weather of, 450,000 people without power. But it's just a blip.

  7. I know that I should not admit this in public, but Sasha in the freezer is making me laugh. It wouldn’t have worked for other characters, but Mason and Julia are making me laugh. Terry L is growing on me. He still isn't my idea if Mason, but he's growing on me.

When they wrote the character of Joe Perkins out, did they just basically give his character type and stories to Cruz? It seemed like in the first few weeks, they were building Joe up to being the action/adventure character, the one who'd become the detective and investigate mysteries.

I wonder how much of what they wrote for Cruz and Eden was originally intended for Kelly and Joe.

I'm not sure that any of it was meant for Joe. Cruz became a Fed very early on the shoe. I remember that he was an oil worker, but went home to call his contact.

Joe was doing the research for one reason: to clear his name. He didn't really seem to have a burning passion for investigating. He just wanted the world to stop thinking he was a killer. And he wanted Kelly. I think he would have had a So what do I do next moment if he had lived. He essentially went from high school to prison. Did hewant to follow in his dad's footsteps, let CC help, go to college for something? I don't think anyone knew the answer to that.

I guess so Robert could save her? I didn’t like that storyline either. Wasn’t he a friend of the family (or CC’s friend anyway) and the wife could clearly tell something was brewing between them? Kelly had so many LOs or potential LOs during that period that it got a bit exhausting.

I admit that Damsel in Distress Kelly was tired and old. But- I'm not enjoying wild, out of control, bitter about Eden Kelly either.

What was the point of Kelly getting involved with a pianist who was married to Deborah Adair?

He died in bed with her, the story was similar to the one Dobsons wrote for Dee Stewart and Peter Simon's Ian.

Everything started and ended within a few weeks.

    When did THAT happen?

The Caroline storyline confused me when I first watched it on youtube. It felt like another SB story where they had no idea where they wanted to take it, and then it was decided just to get rid of the characters. So odd. I really wish there has been someone at the network or production company who would root for consistency in storylines.

To me it came across as the fanbase hating them all. Jane's RIDICULOUS Roxanne bs did nothing to endear her to the audience. Caroline commited the sin of not being Augusta. I've seen complaints of them being "boring". Alice's dad was so one dimensionally ANGRY all of the time that he was hard to take. I mean seriously that is not fun to watch. Let him be not pissed once a week to make him sympathetic. I get why he was mad, but I felt bashed over the head by it. I think they were dropped because they weren't working for a lot of audience members.

I adored Alice. And I liked Caroline. I enjoyed the growth shown as she and Lionel became close because both characters grew and changed for the better because of each other.
