  1. The jingles story -- under Slesar -- was written to be more of a complex psychological story of a woman on the edge of sanity. But when he was let go and a new head writers was brought in, they turned the story around and went with the Aunt
  2. I had read somewhere that when Capitol started revolving around the casino (Sam owned one, Wally worked there. Jordy and everyone else would go play the slots....). I wonder if there was to be some sort of a spinoff in the works that was set in a casino...any ideas?
  3. I agree with you, Eric. I was thrilled hen Ceara became a major player in Pine Valley. All I knew about GF was she had played Laura on GH. I hated when she left.
  4. I had read once before that Harding Lemay was hired as a consultant for the 4 ABC serials. His main gripe about The City was the fact that it didn't have families, like the general mother/children/father. But I believe it did have families, but it was more of a "we are family" kinda creation.
  5. I agree with you 💯%! I still watch the videos on YouTube sometimes and get caught up in them all over again. I had read that since they did keep the knowledge of who the real Todd was under wraps for so long and continued to slowly build up the suspense, the shows numbers climbed up. Of course, my opinion is that when Head Writer Ron Carlivati was able to write the stories he wanted as opposed to the dribble Frons dictated to him, he showed what a masterful and creative writer he is. Had he been able to write what he wanted all along, perhaps we would have had Viki, Todd, Tea, Jessica and Clint a while longer The reason that plot twist was concocted was due to Steven Kanaly becoming extremely bored with his part of the show ans threatened to leave. Larry Hagman ☆ in order to keep his friend on the show -- approached TPTB with the suggestion to make Ray Jock's illegitimate child. (Not sure if you knew that, but was hoping to add a reason of WHY to your question)
  6. I absolutely loved Julia Medina
  7. One of my absolute favorite characters on DARK SHADOWS I have only seen bits and pieces of THE DOCTORS, but who was this guy?
  8. Thank you so much!!! I will try!!
  9. I have been trying to find episodes of THE DOCTORS online, but so far nothing. I'm also curious as to why the constant revolving door or head writers
  10. Maybe I am in the minority, but I did not care for the character of Jessica Buchanan til Bree Williamson took over the role. She brought Jessica to adulthood with sexiness and charm. Torpey's version was innocent and pure. Like I said, maybe I am in the minority.
  11. Wow! Thank you so much for that wealth of information!!! I truly enjoyed the read and I am so glad you mentioned about the "phonebook." I am at the place in the story where Larkin Malloy has just returned as Sky and Raven is being held by the FBI impoater for the diary. I had questions about Ian Devereaux myself which was answered
  12. I was a huge fan of Lois Kibbee, only seeing her as Elizabeth Saunders on OLTL. Do you happen to know who she played on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW and possibly what her storyline was? Thank you!! Do you happen to know Lois Kibbee's storyline in SFT?
  13. Can anyone tell me about the character Ian Devereaux?
  14. My sister has tried to get me to write something -- ANYTHING!! -- each day...even if it is minor. Maybe we should encourage one another
  15. I have never been a fan of Tom King so that makes sense to me
  16. On youtube I found a short clip of For Richer, For Poorer. For the life of me I cannot seem to figure out why it wasn't successful! I mean, it had two brilliant geniuses at the helmet! Paul Rauch was just an amazing EP and Lemay was a brilliant writer!
  17. I know writing scripts for a soap opera is extremely taxing on the brain, but I read somewhere that Henry Slesar was head writer of Search For Tomorrow, The Edge of Night and Somerset simultaneously one year. And I read Harding Lemay was head writer of Another World and -- at one point -- Lovers and Friends also. I'm amazed that they were able to keep storylines separate! Slesar, of course, was fond of the dark storylines on his shows involving crime syndicates, psychos and mysteries. His tone and story is evident even during his time as HW on Capitol and One Life To Live. How difficult would it have been for Paul Rauch whwn he served as EP for Texas and Another World together or Another World and Lovers and Friends?
  18. First off, congratulations on a wonderful union! I am 23 years older than my partner. Lol Second, I never watched Somerset because i was born in 1976, but I remember reading that Jamrson and Georgann wanted to push the envelope as far as sexual kinks, but the producers -- and P&G, I'm sure -- were too terrified to try anything out of the ordinary. And third, I found a lot of Judith Light/Karen Wolek on youtube and it seems that had it not been for the writers and producer of OLTL, she never would have had the chance to shine with a groundbreaking story!! OLTL asked her back many many times for short story arcs, butbshe always refused. Just as Robin Wright -- in interviews -- denies even having been on SANTA BARBARA and I cannot figure out why! That show gave her the start to become what she is today!!
  19. Wow! Thank you so much for that information! I watched OLTL on YouTube and surmised that he was introduced during the Marco Dane murrer trial since he was prosecuting Viki.
  20. I was a huge fan of Anthony Call (Herb Callison) on OLTL. Did anyone see EON when he played Senator Colin Whitney? I'd love to know his storyline.
  21. Several years ago I decided to write my own soap, but then read about an old canceled soap called WHERE THE HEART IS which was written and created by Margaret DePriest. Later, Claire Labine drove the ratings up with her writing. Anyhow, the original series centered around the wealthy Hathaway family with the first episode centering around the funeral of Judge Hathaway. I decided to start a continuation of it by having the first episode center around the funeral of Julian Hathaway. Thats how I got the whole Hathaway family back to the fictional town of Norcross. I delved into a psychological story where one of the characters, Dr. Carolyn Reynolds, is a therapist to the late Julian's sister, Kate, who has a split personality. Carolyn uses Kate's alter, Betty, to plot the murders of all the Hathaways. Carolyn states to her sister that Judge Hathaway was the one that sentenced their father to prison resulting in his death in a prison fight and thereafter theiir mother was so distraught that she committed suicide. That led to the govt taking the children and they were all adopted by different families. She wanted to destroy the Hathaway family like the judge destroyed her family. Another storyline was one of the younger characters, Jonas, being gay and sleeping with an older man he met at a bar. That older man turns out to be his uncle. Sometimes I still want to write it, but I dont know
