  1. No one and I mean NO ONE slapped like Susan Flannery. No contest.
  2. People really need to accept that Ameila Heinle is in the role of Victoria Newman and won't be cast out for someone else. At this point, she is the longest-tenured actor in the role. Plus, Heinle is not horrible as Victoria when given the right material, and she has not always been given that. 💯 I agree with this. The absence of Nikki's MS is disappointing. Doesn't Maggie on Days of Our Lives also have MS and, I feel like that's ignored mostly, as well. General Hospital does this with Anna's blood condition unless they write-in a random visit to GH for blood work to explain why she's randomly there on a Tuesday. People genuinely still forget JT's origins and that people can / do change. The Stitch change, however, was deplorable.
  3. Mhmm, exactly. Which also may explain the use of a wig this go 'round. Who knows. I do feel as if Pikeman was meant to be someone other than Cyrus Renault, etc. and things planned did not happen as cohesively as they would have wanted, and I'm OK with it being dropped at this point. They were not specified because they were not fi-core writers. General Hospital did not hire fi-core this time, because when Garin Wolf was credited in 2008, it was because he was fi-core. Hence why "scab" is constantly used this go 'round.
  4. YouTube doesn't want to work right now...
  5. Oh, this is MESSY! And since the fired guy was out during both strikes still.. makes me wonder what was happening. Lord. This is a MESS!
  6. I don't believe it was him quitting his care... it was that someone was not there editing the material to not be off-the-rails. I feel like Anderson brought the HEART into the soap at that time, and ensured face masks / Devil returns were not going to happen.
  7. I was in the camp of welcoming the writer to Days of Our Lives, because I thought it'd be a good fit (and I am someone who is not a fan of their writing). But, once Sheri Anderson left the creative team, writing became so bad and so unlike what it should have been.
  8. The general consensus has been positive concerning the struck material, so I believe you're safe, haha.
  9. I am hoping reception for Sheri Anderson's material (who is supposedly took over for the writer during the strike) is so positive it causes a change for either her return, or for a regime of writers that can handle a streaming soap, because what's been streaming is NBC-level worthy.
  10. I am sure the casting call made it known Andrew would be romancing Paul, so if he accepted the role and his personal views went against the role, then that would've been his decision.
  11. Let's not pretend he and the former producer hadn't thought of it before. 🤣
  12. Fairly certain he identifies within the LGBTQIA+ community, yes.
  13. The ladies of Port Charles have been giving such compelling performances lately. Finola Hughes, Maura West, etc. They're all coming for Emmy gold in 2024! Don't be sorry, because it is true. My main issue with Chris Van Etten & Dan O'Connor has always been their timing and pacing. When Emma Samms came in for her one-month stint (original), it was paced and was watchable. Nothing dragged, because they knew they had one-month to tell the story they needed / wanted to tell. Otherwise, we get stories that one or two Sweeps periods too long. They create openings for stories to end, and then extend them. That's their main problem. If they could tighten the time in which a story is told they could really do well. That being said, the interim writers have done wonders with use of history and tightening stories. They ended what needed to be ended, pushed what needed to be pushed and amped up things that needed to be amped up.
  14. Yes they both would have, but the writer destroyed that when Morgan Fairchild was cast and the role was turned into a poorly camp caricature. Or even a temporary Vivian Alamain... but only if they needed the role, and Louise Sorel were unavailable.
  15. No. It makes complete sense and is what should happen... and it makes me wonder what else this person supposedly has access to. Bank accounts? Emails? I hate being that person, but this just feels... unsettling. Maybe one post stating "X has passed away" and then don't post on the account again. Leave it at that.
  16. I CALLED IT!! Claire Grace is totally the stillborn Eve Howard. I called this in a thread!! I did. And it looks like it's happening!!
  17. That, honestly, is due to the availability of the actor. But, had a better writer/producer been in-charge, it could have been handled better.
  18. Monday, 11/13: Starting off the week with a recap of the 2022 year, mixed with some of the recent episodes is fun. I could have done without Mel's return, though... as she and Toadie did not belong together, and they still don't. I appreciate the new shooting angles as Terese & Toadie walked into the home. Having to suspend my continuity beliefs for this is everything, because it's been done so well within the first flashback alone. Immediately including Krista in this is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant... with Mel being the voiceover of what's playing out. ALL of the familiar faces! I missed these people, and it's so nice seeing them! So Melanie is a fugitive? Oh, that's juicy!!!! Tuesday, 11/14: Holly dropping the bombshell that she returned to town two years earlier was excellent, and the super-imposed flashback with what aired was hilarious. I love that, and I love seeing the evolution of Holly & Susan's relationship... knowing where they started and where they are now. Terese's anger is justified. It really is. The introduction of Kelly / Krista is awesome. Two episodes into her actually appearing and I am enjoying her. Like the previous, I am enjoying the voiceover from Holly. And now Mel is involving someone else...? Interesting. Hmmm. And I know Reese is meant to be included within these episodes, but her scenes just feel out of place, and kind of wish they'd been cut. Aaron! David! nüNicolette!! Loving this!! Wednesday, 11/15: I wonder: how were Eden & Krista so conning together? Neither seem viable or capable of it to be honest. Not Mel involving my poor David. So now Eden targets children, too? That's scary AF! Ugh. Eden is the ultimate PIG! Holly is the innocent in this. Poor thing. Oh! Look! My faves are back in town... and here comes Paul's involvement. Oooh. This is heating UP! I am SO stoked!! Thursday, 11/16: Here we go! The conclusion! I am SO ready for this. Love having Aaron, David and Nicolette back on the canvas. Hoping they stick around. Ugh. Melanie & Toadie just do not belong together and these flashbacks hammer that home. You damn well know Krista's addiction is fueling this... but oh my goodness... the accident on top of the roof? Wow. That's insane!! whew. Mel, darling, maybe the CPR didn't work because you were doing it into her throat? AND THIS IS WHERE PAUL COMES INTO PLAY?! That's INSANE! Right before his wedding!! I know people want Paul & Terese and Melanie & Toadie back together, but... I'm kind of loving the intense tension between Melanie & Paul in these scenes. Pair them up. Paul protecting David and his family? I would have never thought... but now we know why Paul left Terese at the alter. Dun dun dun... Paul finds out Krista & Reese's connection. The look of shock on his face is priceless. And the inclusion of scenes from the premiere episode of the revival? A nice touch. GO TERESE! GO! Rebekah Elmaloglou is fantastic!! She ate the material and really just... made it her own!! Overall thoughts: This, right here, is how you handle a time jump and throwback scenes. Looking at what Neighbours has done, and even comparing it to what Days of Our Lives did and there is no comparison. Neighbours won out. The storytelling is better, production value is better (obviously) and the acting was 100% better. Everything makes sense, and there is still room for this story to be told over time, and I cannot wait to see how it continues to unfold. I genuinely hope Neighbours is eligible for Daytime Emmy consideration, because it would win hands down. It really would.
  19. So that debunks everyone who kept saying Gwen was gone. I knew she wouldn't be.
