  1. How would everyone on this thread feel ... about starting a new separate/parallel thread for Climate? The new thread could be about Climate change, extreme weather, and the effects on humanity and nature around the world, socioeconomic impacts, social justice, emigration/migration/immigration, and related political stuff. (Suggest that that the new thread also be in the "Off Topic Lounge" section. Separate but parallel to the Politics thread and the Media/Journalism thread.) Of course there would be overlap between the threads, and that's fine. But it seems like climate gets lost as a plank in political party maneuvering - even if some individual politicians sincerely care about it. Political leaders have to balance a variety of issues in order to survive - that's simply how society is structured. Perhaps a separate Climate thread would have participation from all the international members here at SON. We could hear about what's happening with deserts and floods in many parts of the world. Etc. What do you think? ( @Toups @Errol )

  6. Thank goodness Graz is staying! Lily/Cane was awful and I'm glad that's done, and I don't want it revisited! Lily/Billy was good briefly but is now a fail. Daniel Romalotti was Lily's best pairing. I preferred Davetta Sherwood's Lily with Daniel. But I'll take him with CK.
  7. What's going to kill all of us - ignoring climate change. This is not just about Mother Nature. It has an enormous socio-economic impact on humans, too. Climate change is causing an immigration/refugee crisis worldwide - with mass migration across borders from countries experiencing drought and floods. Climate change -- even within the USA -- impacts the poor, People of Color, women, and children much more than it affects rich white men. Climate change will cause worldwide economic crises as resources become scarce. It will be a gazillion times worse than the supply-chain mess from Covid. It's entirely possible that there could be wars and famines. And local petty despots, warlords, and mobsters trying to run things when systems start collapsing. This is not just some random third-world thing far away on the remote parts of the planet that the modern Western world can pretend doesn't exist. It will come everywhere. I don't want to say it, but there it is. Even politicians motivated only by selfishness, power, and greed, should see that it's not in their longterm financial interest to ignore climate change. But no, they'd rather twiddle time away by investigating the Biden family.
  8. This Alex Cohen twitter account says in its profile "Mostly parody account". Yet what they say sounds plausible in light of all the other insanity. I mean, at this point, things have gotten so bad at Twitter, how would I even know if someone was tweeting truth or parody about Twitter?
  9. Tessa had nodules or some injury on her throat. Needed surgery. Can't sing for time being. Is home for months recuperating. Teriah are supposedly taking this time to work on adopting, which is occasionally shown, but not much. What does Mariah do now? I don't know. I thought she worked at Jabot, but she isn't shown there, so I don't know if she still works there or not. I guess the tack house is a bit larger than the tiny apartment upstairs from Crimson Lights. Maybe they moved so they could have more room to raise a child? Do we even know how many rooms are in the tack house? It's just weird because them moving was never discussed on air. We simply hear that they've already moved and Chelsea gets their prior residence.
  10. Preview clips for week of November 21st!
  11. Re: Pelosi speech in previous post: Pelosi didn't really say much in that speech. It's carefully neutral. And clearly passing the baton. But not much else.
  12. Spoiler pics for Wed. Nov 23:
  13. Nancy Pelosi Speech Thurs. Nov. 17, 2022. Announcing that she is stepping down from House leadership at the end of this year's session, but will continue to serve as Congresswoman from San Francisco. Sums up her career, thanks all who helped, and passes the baton to the next generation. The House has a custom of having various members rotate as temporary Speaker (Speaker Pro Tempore) when the actual Speaker is not available. Representative Ann Kuster of New Hampshire served in that role today. Thus, when Nancy Pelosi gets up to speak, she addresses her remarks to "Madam Speaker" (Ann Kuster), as is customary. Transcript of Pelosi's speech: (Long, so I'll put it behind a spoiler tag):
  14. camera shooting scene from Wed. Nov. 23

  19. Here's a direct link: https://www.paramountpressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/shows/the-bold-and-the-beautiful/photos/?page=1&limit=50 The wedding photos are labeled episode 8898 which airs Friday Nov. 18. They get ready Friday Nov 18, but the wedding itself begins in episodes of week of Nov. 21st. Probably one day in Forrester/Hayes/Logan/etc time lasts a week in viewer time. The pics on the same paramount page of Patrick Duffy as Stephen Logan with his daughters are for episode 8901 which airs Wed. Nov. 23. Brooke is wearing the same white blazer and blue jeans in both sets of photos.
  20. Sharon and Billy tell Chelsea onscreen... that Mariah and Tessa have (offscreen) moved into the Newman tack house. And Sharon gives Chelsea Teriah's former apartment upstairs from Crimson Lights. Srsly Teriah moved offscreen? to the tack house? WTF?
  21. Thanks @jam6242 for posting Bill&Susan Hayes instagram tribute to Robert Clary. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClEl6LLgUDt/ Click on the link to see the video they included in their IG post. If you can't see the wonderful video, here is a copy attached: 4fasfu4s567s9.mp4
  22. Gridlock yes. Hopefully, if a few Republicans cross the aisle and vote with Dems on anything, then something *could* get done. But that's only if the motion comes to the floor. The majority party gets the chair of every committee, and can decide which issues ever come to the floor. That's a big problem.
