Funny you mentioned that, because I was coming on here to complain about some of the outfits today. I don't watch BB so I can't speak to that, and I think the fashion on BTG has been great overall, but Nicole's jacket was so ill-fitting and the color palette on the jacket, pants, and ridculous choice of undershirt pissed me off. Also, they need to have these pieces tailored or at least make some alterations. I think this may be an issue with some of the pieces they get for DD. She has a big bust and small waist and unfortunately most fitted jackets and blouses don't cater to this build. I assume they are buying a size up, but then trying to fix it as best they can. ---- Martin is ridiculous. Kat had stopped Samantha from going too far before she even heard Kat talk about her sex life. Samantha already had sex or sex as a means to an end on her mind. Her being ill informed about it at her age is the fault of her parents not Kat. Also, what teenager today doesn't hear or see things about sex way more graphic than Kat discussed with Chelsea. What was that look Eva was giving Shanice and Ted? Does she think there was something more to their interaction - is that what was being implied? I didn't feel that at all. I did find it odd that Ted just grabbed Shanice's face like that, but otherwise I thought their interaction was cute. Although for all the hell Ted gave Shanice about getting her Rumble in the Jungle facts wrong, why would he then say he was going to dance like a bee not sting like one. Wasn't Ali's phrase float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Thought he would have been more apt if Ted said he was planning to dance like a butterfly, but he wouldn't be stinging like a bee. It felt nice not seeing Vanessa and Joey. I really don't know how to feel about either honestly. However, I was excited to see Hayley in the previews - someone I have done a 180 on since the reveal.

Oh no, put me on the not impressed by Freeman's scting list. There were very short glimmers of hope, but making ugly faces does not a good actor make.

Not sure if you are implying Diego is more gorgeous, but I do not find Diego attractive. But Besides Doug, Vanessa's taste in men is questionable. And you are right PS character in Dirty Dancing isn't technically an escort and it has been years since I have watched it, but it is implied or mentioned that some of the women pay him a little extra for sex. Temu Swayze I can't believe I am about to type this, but the characters of Derek and Ashley don't annoy me as much. Their stories can remain more in the periphery, but they are less infuriating. I still think the Derek reveal happened too fast. Ashley is out here acting like Derek was walking around normally and completely faking his recovery or lack thereof. Meanwhile, Derek was just able to stand and Ashley is like I was working so hard to make you comfortable how dare you. Then girl had the audacity to say he isn't the man she dreamed of marrying. Like hold up, you didn't want to marry that man to begin with when you were so quick to drop him when some other dude took your picture.

The character really has made an unpleasant turn. So much for a mature, put together attorney. She has the emotional intelligence of her bestie Ashley. Their friendship makes so much sense now. Today was another day where the lack of sets was really apparent. Now why would Hayley go meet up with Randy at the casino when she is already concerned about Joey putting two and two together. Similarly, why is Vanessa having breakfast at the country club with Joey so soon after Doug's death. It just makes these women look dumb and they're not. On a separate note, with Leslie parading around the place and Joey having access, this country club is really for everybody at this point. Hayley has conned a few men before and Vanessa does play the "I don't care of people talk" well, but she can't be dumb enough to parade some shady man who she is engaged in illegal dealings around the country club so soon after the death of her husband.

Anyone having issues with today's episode on Paramount+? It hasn't been uploaded or does not show up for me. It has never happened to me before.

I also didn't mind Smitty's moment of weakness. Like you, I thought it was realistic. Smitty was dealing with complex feelings for his husband and ended up thinking with his member. I can see some trouble coming their way. I don't think it's coincidence that they keep bringing up Joey Armstrong.

I second wishing it took longer for Smitty and Martin to reunite or at least not go from at odds to marriage at the speed of light. I actually enjoyed Ashley on Friday's episode. Her and Naomi's interactions were well done. I'm not getting the intense anger Naomi is feeling towards Jacob. While I understand that she is firm on her stance that she has not and does not want kids, Jacob is human and perhaps the thought of his wife being pregnant and a kid being an actual reality sparked something in him. I also don't feel like Jacob was being pushy at all. He was asking her to really consider it and I respect Naomi for being firm in her belief. However, once Naomi found out she wasn't pregnant, she should have been relieved and talked to Jacob like an adult and said that kids is a non-negotiable for her and if he doesn't feel that way then he needs to make a choice. And the truth is that man wants her and has told her that she is above everything, but she is here acting all ridiculous. I am so frustrated by the situation that I just need Naomi to leave Jacob and get pregnant and have a baby with someone else. And then just say that it wasn't the baby, but the idea of Jacob as a father or something like that. I have known two people IRL who swore off kids as long as I've known them but as soon as they left their partner, they got knocked up and had kids.

I was living for this. It was such a contrast from the other scenes we got with Hayley and Caroline, so it definitely highlighted how she was playing a role. While I personally would have liked if they had hinted at Hayley's deception a little more heavily without still giving it away in the earlier episodes, I do believe this was planned from the beginning. I always thought that Hayley's acting choices felt like she was "acting" if that makes sense. There was always something about the way she behaved around Bill and I always felt that about the actress. Every time she was being cute or sensual with Bill it felt like a wife trying to play her man with sex. At the time, I thought Hayley was codidn't think Hayley was going to turn into some Killer Mistress tho. Yet, now that we had the reveal, her choices make sense.

The kill bill plot has definitely made Hayley more interesting. However, she was playing the long game before and she had the added benefit that Bill knows how to lay the pipe (according to her), so I'm not sure why she's in a rush to end Bill so quickly. It's sloppy and risky and considering her history I would think she would be smarter than this. Second the post on living for Hayley not standing Caroline. It actually came across really funny, because their relationship appeared genuine in the few scenes they had together. Tomas really, really needs to be recast. His line delivery was so dry that it took away from any fun this could have delivered. I thought the June scenes with her kids were actually good.

Me trying to detect the lies, but there are none. The writing has been fine. What makes BTG a standout for me is the casting. We have characters that have been relegated to the background or smaller roles on soaps from the start of the genre and they are finally brought to the forefront. Besides the more offensive (and we all know who they are), there are some quality performers like TMG and AM that bring it alongside the more seasoned actors. The representation of queer characters is also refreshing, but it kind of stops there. None of these stories feel modern. They feel like soap cliches taken and repurposed for the diverse characters of BTG. Now, a good story is a good story and we don't need to reinvent the wheel, but we can blend the tried and true with modern storytelling. The gay couple have been placed in a bubble to represent a very heteronormative expression of gay love, which is fine and nice to see but why add grown kids to such a young couple. These characters could have been open to so much more as young professionals getting their start in DC instead of a boring, married couple. They kinda boring yall, sorry to say. Speaking of grown kids, the character ages are so wild on this show and it isn't helped by casting choices like Samantha and Peaches. And this isn't to rub anyone here the wrong way, I am enjoying BTG but I had way too high expectations for it and it is middling at best. It is fine. It serves a purpose and I watch because there is some enjoyment, but I wouldn't say I have been wow'd or in love with any stories yet. The lack of sets isn't something that can be helped because budgets are tight, but it is also a major sore spot on this show. It also can explain why a lot of action has been talked about instead of actually seen. I am still holding out that Doug isn't dead because we never saw the body and he was somehow in the know of Joey's plot and he is coming back for revenge. Otherwise what a lame way to kill off Doug.

Personally, I find this shift in character a bit strange. While the idea of Hayley having used Bill all along and being this vixen that manipulates men and then drains their bank accounts is interesting, it doesn't feel natural. Sure Hayley's pouting about not being accepted at the CC could have been part of her game, but it didn't feel that way. Also, am I confused or did they switch up the whole timeline on when Hayley came into the picture?
-
BTG: October 2025 Discussion Thread
I'm thinking this is what eventually gives Hayley away. Maybe she actually poisons Bill at some point, but it doesn't work and Naomi calls back to this moment and how Hayley's baking was not it's usual standard and how strange she was acting.

Not a fan of today's episode. There were too many monents that felt forced or off. June telling Jacob he would be a good dad out of the blue for example. I get they are pushing Jacob vs Naomi on the idea of wanting kids, but couldn't June have walked in on a moment when Jacob gives Samantha some advice and this prompts her "good dad" comment. Most hospitals do next day if not same day results on hCG tests. Why was Ashley acting like this was going to take week(s)? Hayley was also so extra with that cupcake. Like girl, are you trying to draw attention to yourself as you plan to poison the man.

Unpopular opinion, but I am not seeing the amazing acting some of y'all are getting from the actor playing Donnell. He is alright, but he comes across as a novice to me, but not in a bad way like AA. He also keeps doing this thing with his tongue where he presses it against or glides it across the inside of his bottom lip. I noticed him to it several times the first day and he continues doing it. It's giving Sean Freeman sighing vibes. I'm honestly so confused as to where most of these stories are going. It feels a bit clunky and aimless, but I might be wrong. I hope with whatever behind the scenes changes took place, it helps. Martin was talking to Smitty like they were some old married couple...our hair is thinner and more gray, but we are more in love than ever? Didn't help that both MM and BC have full heads of hair, but ok then. I think Dani and Nicole are great together. We need to have them do more than just sit around and talk about their failed marriages.

Watching Chelsea and Tomas in the same scene highlighted how much RR has come from the premiere and AA is still giving us absolutely nothing. They can switch him out with AI at this point.

Agree with all this. Since the kidnapping, I have also felt a bit bored. I don't care for Martin and Smitty's kids or June. Samantha wanting a relationship with June is a bit stale. Besides Smitty's internal dilemma, there are no reprecussions. The whole June being birth mother reveal was a weak plot point to begin with. I did enjoy the Smitty and Martin scenes, but I just don't care for the overall story if that makes sense. The Leslie/Ted/Nicole stuff seems pointless because up until recently they made it seem like Nicole was done done with Ted. I honestly couldn't care less if Nicole and Ted got back together, because I sense very little chem between the two. Dani needs a better Andre to play against. I know some aren't the biggest fans of KM or Dani, but she has done a great job on this soap IMO.

Tomas really needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut. It's bad enough he is sharing all of Kat's business (i.e. losing her virginity, sexual disconnect), but it's even worse since he barely knows Eva like that and Eva and Kat have a horrible relationship. Interesting that he never runs back to Kat to tell Eva's business like when Eva wanted his help with the inheritance letter. The wedding could have been fun, but it wasn't. Many scenes fall flat on this soap because you have a stronger actor attempting to prop up a much weaker one. I've said it 100 times but Freeman's acting is not it. The facial expressions and sighing just piss me off. I'm mildly interested in the outcome for Doug in this storyline, but I'm similarly curious as to how Randy is fearful of Joey knowing his whereabouts and at the same time using Orphey Gene's as his office. I thought Anita and Nicole scenes were good. I don't understand why Anita is so black and white with Ted as if her own family hasn't had some questionable moments. Sleeping with Leslie again I get, but before that I would think she would be more supportive when Nicole was showing doubts about divorcing Ted.

To add to the June part, she seemed to have left on good terms with her sister the last we saw. Considering she seems to be trying to turn her life around, I thought it was weird that she said she was back at the shelter. I would think her sister would let her stay with her while she got her life together. I know every family is different and clealry there was a lot of history between them, but it just seemed like an odd choice.

Jan should have been the Dupree housekeeper. It would have better connected Ashley to the canvas and explained why she knows Andre or at least recognizes him. It also would have given Leslie a stronger motive for her friendship with Jan, because she knew she could get info on the Duprees through her. I couldn't finish today's episode. I am way too tired and I knew it would be difficult to watch daily once I started work up again. But I need to say this, what in the hell was wrong with Nicole's blouse. It looked awful. It's like some inexperienced person tried to alter it and stitched it in the most awkward place. I couldn't stop staring at it. Then Mama June popping out in her early Alicia Keys headscarf. It all felt too weird.

I also thought the actress playing Allison has done a good job giving us soap crazy, but while RonniRose has improved she really struggled through a lot of the kidnapping material for Chelsea. I will say she is handling the aftermath better. As for the opinions of this board, I think they are divided but I will say from my observation most feel the opposite that the actresses for Allison failed in her delivery and Chelsea rose to it or has come a long way. As for Tomas, I don't think I have seen anyone here or on any other platform say the actor is doing well. Doesn't help that the actresses playing Kat and Eva are the strongest of the young set. Yeah, they carry AA bad acting at times, but other times it further emphasizes how much work he needs.

Are we getting a new set next week or did I just fail to recognize one of sets in the promo? It seems like Andre and Dani are having drinks somewhere that doesn't look like Uptown, the CC, or one of their homes.

Andre tells Dani he ran into Ashley. So he's just casually roaming the hospital. I thought the documentary was over. This man needs a life or something else to do with his time.
