  1. They must really love Joey. His apartment looks so much better than Andre's short lived bachelor pad.
  2. Good points. We also saw the outside of Bill and Hayley's place when Dani was trying to break in and was caught by security. There was some greenery if I remember correctly...an outdoor space would be nice. The Atrium seems like a food court/mall. When I lived in Europe, there were indoor food courts all over the place. They weren't connected to malls, just a building with a bunch of food stalls inside. Sorta like an Eatly or Mercado Little Spain in NYC. The idea is fine, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Have to agree on Martin. I would never have thought I would be saying this a year ago.
  3. I would love a dining room for the Duprees. I know they have Rowena to do the cooking, but even a kitchen would be nice. I loved seeing Ellie in the kitchen pouring herself some coffee or the Ewings having conversation in the kitchen or breakfast out on the patio on Dallas. Not sure it would make much sense since it's only Vernon and Anita who live there and Kat for now.
  4. I don't know if the direction for Hayley was changed, but I will admit the reveal did seem to make sense to me. From day 1, I found MG's acting to be strange, not bad, but confusing. It seemed like someone putting on or forcing an act if that makes sense. When we finally got the reveal, I was like oh maybe this has been a choice by MG all along to make us understand that Hayley is a character that Valerie puts on to get her marks. It showed that Hayley was both intelligent and conniving. I mean some choices lately with Randy do make them seem a little less intelligent, but oh well. There have been some inconsistencies tho. Hayley at first, seemed to want to be accepted at the country club and by the Duprees. She seemed to be interested in going from a have not to a have and being welcomed into a world she was always excluded from. Yet, would Hayley -the markswoman- really care about all that stuff? I don't know. I would assume she would want to secure her bag and get out of there. Maybe along the way there was a shift or perhaps Hayley does care about those things or it might just be a way for Hayley to garner sympathy and pity from Bill. These are minute nitpicks tho
  5. I agree and I was also confused by the timeline of Hayley and the Hamiltons. My original understanding was that Hayley and Naomi had been college friends, but the ages of these characters are either undefined, ambiguous, or the actor and the character's age are widely unaligned that it is really hard to say. Maybe Naomi isn't too far out grad school and that is where she met Hayley - but is Hayley spending years on a mark? Who knows....with a 10 million payday, I guess so.
  6. I don't mind that the CBS/P&G soaps are in universe. Yet, I can also do without crossovers as they hardly, if ever, have the impact on story and viewership that is desired. The only reason, I am in favor of it, is that it allows BTG to integrate characters from other shows that are already established. Not that I think anyone in particular from ATWT and GL would be added to the canvas, but for example Mel Bauer was a John Hopkins graduate and a nurse. If they ever wanted to bring in a character (not necessarily an actor) with an established past that would be one way of doing it. However, this would only work for those who are establish soap viewers and of particular shows.
  7. Anita had a career that required her to be on the road regularly, especially if we are to believe the Articulettes are inspired by the Motown groups of the 60s and 70s. Those groups were doing shows constantly. Vernon also did plenty of work that required his time away - not far fetched to believe that extramarital situations took place. It would also open up to the possibility of a Dupree son, which is desperately needed IMO. I still think it should have been Martin.
  8. Matriarchs are such a cornerstone of soap opera that it's unsurprising that so much care and attention has been put into developing Anita's character. Although, there were a few months there that I felt she was being underutilized. I do think that Vernon needs to be allowed his own space within this soap to be fully utilized. They have given him a lot of background - civil rights activist, politician, lecturer at a prestigious institution. However, that can only go so far when there are no sets to really cater to that type of storytelling. As of now, we know the Wonder Twins, Izaiah, and Vernon are all connected to Banneker. I think Bill went to Banneker considering the pillow on his office couch. I don't know if a college hall set would lend itself to being a good set, but it would give us another side to Vernon. On another note, I do find it interesting how often the writers have had Donnell and Deanna drinking in their last few appearances. Firstly, are they of age? You're usually of age when you are a college junior/senior, I assumed both were younger but I may be wrong. Also, Gen Z isn't really drinking like that.
  9. I didn't understand Madison's reasoning for telling Chelsea they needed to call off the wedding, besides the fact that it was dramatic as hell. She did mention that a lawsuit can impact Chelsea and her businesses if they were married, but a) she was yet to get any legal advice on the matter and b) you would think she was getting married next week not a year from now. I wish that maybe they had written it so Madison's mom had recorded her and posted some of her comments out of context.
  10. I am happy that the Anita cancer story is leading to a resolution. As nicely done as it was, it was such a heavy topic that I am glad it won't extend for too long. TT did an amazing job, but that's unsurprising. The thing with soaps is, no matter how bad an actor, you do in some ways get attached. Reading the comments about AA being dropped to recurring did make me feel a bit, albeit very tiny bit, sad. I will get over it the moment he is gone though. I still feel if BTG wanted to stoop low a la Reva's clone they could have made a big reveal that AA was actually an AI robot. He wouldn't have to change is acting a bit. Lynette/Hayley/Randy is heating up and I am here for it.
  11. Lol...why am I being asked this again. I don't know who is hating. I only post here. I used to see a comment or another on Twitter, but this is strictly where I get my BTG info and commentary. My response with the Teresa gif was a reaction to another poster saying that people are hating, but too bad because BTG got picked up for 2 seasons. I was celebrating that.
  12. No idea. It was a response to LC's comment that people are hating - no one on here from my POV. I think this board has very fair and open discussion and members express their likes and dislikes in a way that isn't rude or insulting. IMO of course. If people are hating, let them hate. I am enjoying BTG very much.
  13. I haven't watched today, but I am surprised Randy and Hayley are getting lax considering that Tomas is catching on and Lynette and Joey threatening to expose or derail their plans. But you're right about Randy and Hayley not being the brightest con artists despite having pulled this same stunt multiple times successfully. Too bad Wonder Twins is taken already, because that would be a fantastic nickname for Hayley and Randy's idiotic selves.
  14. Y'all be hyping Donnell's acting up and it ain't all that. Even when he was doing that weird tongue thing some of you were singing praises. Meanwhile, he is decent but it can still read amateurish to me quite often. Again, this isn't my calling for a recast. He is just fine, but I do not think he is some amazing actor.
  15. I think they explained on an episode that the BRCA gene can't skip a generation, so if your children don't have it then your grandkids can't inherit the gene. That was why Kat and Martin didn't have to get tested after all, because Nicole wasn't a carrier. Dani's kids had to get tested, because she had it.
  16. I am finally caught up on last week's episodes. I will say I preferred the second half of the week over the first. The episodes IMO were a bit more entertaining. I think Darlene is a great addition, but I can say that for all the new additions like Lynette. Even Izaiah has grown on me a bit more. I'm ok with Naomi and Jacob's situation, but I totally get what you are saying. However, look at what we got from Chelsea and Madison as well as Tomas and Kat. I do wish Martin and Smitty were dating instead of married with children. It would have opened them to a lot more story wise that maybe writers on a daytime soap don't want to touch being they are a "safe" representation of gay relationships - monogamous, faithful, family men.
  17. Well babes, I am living for this comment...gave me a good chuckle.
  18. I have grown to like Hayley so much more since her true intentions were finally revealed. I crack up every time she gets annoyed, even more so with the goody two-shoes like Naomi and Ashley. Something so satisfying about seeing her disgust and their sympathy or concern. Like mind your business. I don't want your performative acts of pity.
  19. I am holding onto faith that this cotillion storyline will be explosive and will actually be the convergence of several storylines with a big climax. Here's hoping @Taoboi theory about May is correct and we get what we have been waiting for, otherwise these stories seem to be spinning their wheels - lots of exposition but not actually going anywhere. @DramatistDreamer I get what you are saying about not seeing all those scenes leading up to the cotillion and that would have been lovely to see because it is something this soap is severely lacking - showing not telling. However, budgets are not what they once were so I am being hopeful they may be saving their pennies to really make this cotillion eventful for viewers by pulling all the stops. I just don't want to get too hopeful and be let down like Winterfest which was a total bust.
  20. That would be good soap. Doug confronting her ass at the cotillion and making it known to all of high society what trash she really is. Then Vanessa would have to claw her way back into the gates - might have to make good with Hayley and Leslie otherwise.
  21. Vanessa playing Joey seems unlikely from everything that went down. I only did think it was possible around the time Doug died, because I, at the time, didn't think Doug was dead. I assumed he had been tipped off by Randy and either he or Doug told Vanessa. Then, Vanessa had to keep up the act while Doug plotted revenge. However, as already mentioned as more time has gone on, it does seem less likely that Doug is plotting some comeback to bring down Joey.
  22. I have held onto the idea that Doug isn't dead from the beginning. There was no body and everything around it seemed rushed from the accident to the funeral. My assumption was that either Doug was tipped off by Randy and is plotting to get revenge. I also at one point thought Doug and Vanessa might be in on it together to take down Joey, but the way Nasty 'Nessa has been acting it would be hard to believe.
  23. Does she? Maybe I am biased, but I feel like Kat is usually initiating the bad blood between them. Well aside from Eva sleeping with her man.. oop
