Here's a 1989 episode I was skeptical of uploading because the sound is extremely low...I'd figure I'd share anyways just to cap off my latest batch of dvds.
Thank you @YRfan23 ! It’s still great to see the Bermuda story even without sound.

Haha I thought of you because I know you've discussed that scene before, but I'm totally excited! with Lauren vs Gina, and the Victor/Cora stuff it should be a great episode!
Well, while I don't prefer that YR tells multiple stories of women driven to attempt suicide over the loss of a man - I know that Beth Maitland will blow those scenes out of the water and can't wait to see!

So excited for the 1984!!
I was only 12 when I watched the original airing and remember being super-disturbed when Cricket comes in to discover Traci's lifeless body I'm sure they play the "horn of death"

Her and Cole’s scenes may have been edited out but Cole and Aldrich Victoria can be seen sitting in the back of the chapel.
I compared today's airing to the original airing's daily recap https://www.soapcentral.com/yr/recaps/1997/970707.php#fri and there seems to be one exchange btw Ryan and Victoria that was edited out.
"Tricia goes into another room. She calls Ryan on his cell phone just as Victoria is teasing him about the 'complication'."
Other than that, nothing in the recap was edited out. But in today's airing, we never even get a clear shot of Sarah Aldrich's face.

We get to see the Interim Victoria in this one, don’t we?
Yes, and it may be Sarah Aldrich's final appearance. Victoria isn't mentioned in the daily recaps for a couple more months when Heather Tom takes back the role.

I always heard cricket came on in 1983 as a summer teen model for jabot, but when you look her up it, it says she came on in 1986 which i know isn't accurate because there was clips of her talking with Brad and ashley so I know she was a kid in those scenes
For sure she is around in the summer of '84 as she is the one who finds Traci after her suicide attempt. We might even see her in next Monday's '84 classic re-airing!

The French episode guide says
1311 - 5/23/78
2508 - 1/25/83
2631 - 7/15/83
Cool, thanks. I remember LLB saying that she did one day as a random background extra before her dad created the role of Cricket. Wonder if 7/15/83 was her day as the background extra. Because I can't find any synopses mention of Cricket until Xmas '83

Cool resource, thanks @janea4old ! I hadn't seen this before
Does anyone know what date 1311, 2508 and 2631 aired? I've always wanted to know Doug Davidson's (1311), Tracey Bregman's (2508) and Lauralee Bell's (2631) first airdate.

Maybe they would be charged a new fee by the songwriter, to air the song today, so they just cut it out...

I saw the full Danny/Cricket wedding a few years ago at the Museum of TV/Radio in NYC and wrote a recap here: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/38254-yr-old-articles/page/356/
The only thing I can tell they edited out of today's broadcast was Gina's wedding processional song. She sang a song Barbra Streisand made famous "Starting Here Starting Now" https://youtu.be/dzPOPp8wmwg
You don't see Gina at all during Cricket's walk down the aisle

BTW how long exactly was the college professor Tim Sullivan on the show for? Seems he lasted for like 7 or 8 years as the go to guy for Traci to run back to, it’s too bad Traci never got to address Colleen’s relationship with Dr. Korbel.

Wow @will81 this must be very labor-intensive work to scan all these pages! It is so appreciated by all of us.

I'm beginning to think they said this to everyone to coincide with the 13 week cycle! Probably in case there was a Cam Gigandet situation and they had to dump someone. I'm sure Bill Bell planned things out further than 3 months. It's more like: this is a short term role for you in case you don't work out and we replace you with another actor or similar character.
I think you're right.... IIRC TEB was told the same thing, that she was just hired for a "summer story"

Lovely in-depth interview with Beth Maitland (Traci) re: this week's episodes. Love this lady. She says Traci was originally a 3-month short-term role! https://www.tvinsider.com/936717/beth-maitland-young-and-the-restless-abbotts-traci-brad-ashley/

Your welcome!
Last week when they showed the David trash Compactor episode my mom commented on how OTT Flo's acting and crying was thinking Nina was dead...It kind of stung me because I thought Sharon Farrell was one of the best actresses on the show for the little they had her do.I agree... her acting was indeed very dramatic but the situation called for it. She realized her new husband was a psychopath, and thought her daughter had been murdered and that she was partially to blame. She was hysterical but that is to be expected.
Holy cow - not only Nathan and Liv's wedding but Victoria's 16th birthday! And I'm sure more Sheila and Drunk Nikki. You are the BEST!

Yeah I think only thing of interest we could go back would probably be a Jill week and I don’t think they would even bother to feature anything with Adair or Dickson at all.
My dream Jill week:
Day 1: Brenda Dickson 70s (2 half-hour eps combined into 1)
Day 2: 1980 Bond Gideon
Day 3: Deborah Adair
Day 4: Brenda D 80s
Day 5: Jess Walton

They made a great couple and the relationship felt fresh!
and then indeed: the show just dropped them in a hot second. It was ludricous
I guess it was to clear the way for Brooke and Deacon? IMO B&D were a smokin-hot pairing, but a year later it was over, so didn't create much long-term story... other than giving us the dubious "gift" of the character Hope!

I wonder why they never kept Amy around for a triangle with Olivia and Nathan or even Dru and Neil.
They did bring back Stephanie Williams (Amy) for 2 eps shortly before Dru’s debut but then General Hospital stole Stephanie away

Jon-Michael Reed did report Jeanne was apparently due to be axed when Kay jumped over board from a cruise ship in September 1980. But fan response to her character changed minds about it. Jeanne also reported in a 1981 interview that after Derek and Douglas were shipped off, she spent 6 weeks off screen.
Wonder if either of these timeframes matches up with JC heading to rehab... in her memoir, she doesn’t say exactly when she went.

Oy is Nikki's heaven/dream/whatever corny. I cringed throughout the whole thing. And Victor standing there in his leather jacket like the devil. It's well-produced but feels so false.
Joshua Morrow is laughably bad 4 years into the role. Yeesh.
I liked that they dealt with the legality of Victor marrying someone immediately after a divorce, for some reason I never even considered that when hearing about this story.
Thanks for posting, I've been wanting to see those scenes. But yea, sometimes the scenes sometime read better on the written recap than they play out on the screen. The scenes with the kids by Nikki's bedside were too long and boring, as well as Victor's courthouse visit. And wow, agreed, JM is bad - "Mom can't die!!" he sounds like a 5-year-old

From the 7/31/84 SOD recap "Cora admits to Kay that she only made those claims in front of Victor to save his marriage to Nikki" After this - Cora heads to the airport but falls and breaks her hip, then is sent to the hospital.
