  1. God bless that director! LOL. Once he calmed down, I enjoyed him.
  2. Ahhh I didn't even think about the old soap Texas - that makes sense, thanks y'all!
  3. So interesting the various opinions on the openings! @Maxim - agree on the Tour of Llanview being a little too sitcom, as catchy as it is, but it felt like Llanview to me. I think a few of the other soaps had more 'sitcom' style, catchy intros there in the 80s/early 90s (GL, AW come to mind). But I do always prefer an opening with characters in them.
  4. Ohh is the Texas invasion the introduction of Reva/Billy/Josh/etc or something more?
  5. LOL well, ok - I didn't think of that, but I wouldn't be mad
  6. Oh God, I hope not LOL. I' m good with Nicole, Vanessa, even Dani!
  7. What are people's thoughts about the opening going from Tour of Llanview to this? LOL - it's so jarring, and I know what they were trying to do, but this opening seems like an AI-generated output when asked to create a "romantic soap opera theme". It just had no personality and doesn't match what you're watching @Maxim. I loved what they did after this though. And I would love this opening if it was something different, like some primetime soap opera or something haha.
  8. Wait who is it?? LOL - put it in spoiler tags. I didn't see anyone in that quick video above. Gosh, he's 80 - he's doing SO well for 80. Good on him!
  9. I'm finally watching the Cameron Mathison episode and gosh, I love him and Rebecca so much. I love how close they are, making each other cry, and realizing that they, along with Alicia, were best friends during their time at AMC. Cameron has been through SO much in the last several years, I feel bad for him. But he has such a great spirit and attitude. What an inspiration.
  10. I'm watching SOAPY and Rebecca Budig said Zimmer was the show lead during her tenure and called her a 'DID' - a Diva in Development - haha. She said Kim was so down to earth and such a fun broad. She said that Paul Rauch was so intimidating to her, mostly because she was only 19-20 at the time, but she was so nervous around him. I just found that interesting.
  11. Yes!! She was great with comedy too. I've always thought she had very similar mannerisms and acting choices as Kate Mulgrew, if you know her. I love both women.
  12. You're exactly right! Marcy left GL in August 1995, just after being kidnapped by Brent Lawrence and then testifying at Alan's trial. Marcy then went to AMC later that fall, which gave amazing drama and of course the Tad/Dixie/Liza triangle that we always needed. Not to derail the GL thread, but this was one of her return promos:
  13. Love to hear this! Marj was a national treasure. Even if she wasn't exactly right for a role, she just always made me laugh or be enthralled by her. I also imagine she was probably just a fun person to be around in real life. While we'd never know what her path at B&B would have been, I'm just glad she decided on GL and it bombed... because she immediately went back to AMC and that return was fantastic and well-timed!
  14. LOL - that was cute. It's things like this that really make me love the actors and characters even more.
  15. Just seeing this... I'll say, for many many months, I've had a slow lag/refresh problem most days. I'm just used to it now so I'll wait or just close the tab out and open the website again to help it along. I just always keep SON up in my Safari tabs, so maybe that's why since it's constantly on? I use a Mac. But strangely, when I use my work computer which is Windows-based with Internet Explorer, I don't have any lagging issues.
  16. I’m up to April 03, 1998. Holly tells Ross everything that happened with Roger, Fletcher and Meg and he consoles her. Ross finds out that Fletcher withdrew half the money in their account and flew to London. Holly rushes to the airport and tries to find the overseas passenger lists, but she gets arrested. Hart is there too, randomly, and helps Holly and gets arrested with her. In a surprise move, Ben gets them off with no charges during their court hearing, which worries Ross/Blake as they’re suspicious. Blake goes to Ben’s place looking for the tape. He arrives and plays cat and mouse until he finally reveals where the tape is. He continues his ultimatum, either sleep with him or he destroys the tape. If she sleeps with him, he’ll let her be the heroine and ‘find’ the tape. She decides to go through with it and undresses and allows him to kiss her. She keeps reminding him that her body is here, but her mind is totally out of it and she isn’t enjoying it. She even questions if this is rape. They continue, but Ben stops them before they go all the way and claims it truly is blackmail and wouldn’t be right (jerk!). He wants her to want it, so he doesn’t give her the tape. Later, Blake tells Holly everything about Ben and how she can’t shake these weird feelings she has for Ben. Blake goes to Ben to tell him she’s leaving town for a while, but they continue to flirt and Ben can’t quit her, so he gives her the tape to stay in town. Later, Ross wants to take Blake to France for 2 weeks, but finds a tape in Blake’s bag. She covers by saying it was delivered while she was gone, so Ross plays it and realizes it’s the courtroom tape he’s been looking for. He is confused why Ben would hand it over and presses Blake about the truth, but she keeps denying knowing anything. He calls Rick to give him the good news that they will start the process of getting Abby out of prison. Meanwhile, Abby is now in prison and having a hard time being deaf because the inmates and guards don’t understand and are mean to her. Her new cellmate is Selena Davis, who happens to actually be friendly to her. Jesse continues his ruse by pretending to be ‘Carlos’ at Michelle’s blind facility. They get closer and teach each other Spanish and English (it’s super cute). Michelle trips over a chair and falls, and Jesse rushes to help her. She stands up and can start to see fuzzy shadows! Beth keeps asking Harley/Phillip to stop looking for Carl. As Beth gets into an elevator, Carl walks in and reveals he’s in Springfield, which shocks Beth. He’s aggressive and threatening and mad that she told people about him. Later, he confronts her again at the hospital with Lillian. Lillian and Beth have some great scenes where she tells Lillian the truth about everything, and they’re worried that Carl will go after Harley since she’s investigating him. That night at the diner, Carl gets to Harley in the alleyway and spooks her. He tells her that Beth told him that Harley is on him, so Harley is now upset with Beth for putting her in danger. But Harley steps up to Carl and tells him to F off basically and he leaves. At the Spaulding mansion, Lizzie screams because she see Carl outside her window, so Phillip finds him outside, they get into a fight, and Alan arrives. Alan helps subdue him while Phillip runs to the police, but we find out Alan hired Carl and they’re working together (of course, Alan sucks). Although Alan/Carl get into it and Alan tells him to never come back to SF, so that’s good. Beth and Lillian are distraught. Dinah is over Rob because he’s spending her money and doing nothing she wants. Another day later and Reva’s clone is now a mouthy, defiant pre-teen (and very annoying). This is weird watching Josh feed her information and make her more like Reva. Reva demands time outside, so Josh takes her to the park. While swinging her, Cassie/Marah walk up shocked and ask who this girl is. Josh said he’s doing a friend a favor, so Cassie introduces herself and the girl says her name is Reva LOL. Josh tells Cassie that Michael works for a foster home and he’s just babysitting, which Cassie isn’t buying. Cassie tells Josh that she thinks that is Reva’s secret daughter, which Josh says isn’t true. Marah and the clone don’t get along at all and start fighting. I’m surprised no one is talking about Annie and wondering where she must be since they know she escaped prison, hmm. The next day, the clone Reva has run away and Josh finds her in a rowdy bar dancing with men. She’s older now, probably late teen/early 20s, and she’s enjoying being the popular girl with all the attention. (This is the same actress that will later play Michelle Bauer, replacing Budig). She now wants to dance again with Josh like they did as kids at Cross Creek, making up stories of their past that he doesn’t remember, which shocks Josh. He picks her up and hauls her out of the bar back home. I don’t understand why the clone isn’t wondering why she’s aging so quickly and looking different every other day. It’s not like the brain restarts each day. You’d think the clone would be freaking out about all of this. Anyway, they’re back at Michael’s and she’s calling him a geek (LOL) and Josh mean, and she just wants beer and pizza instead of cookies and milk, and the guys are definitely having a hard time controlling the clone. She then flirts with “Bud”, good grief haha. She forces Josh to take her shopping and of course she wants a red dress (eye roll). While they’re out, Cassie and Billy visit Michael to get answers, with Billy really strong-arming him. Josh calls Michael from the dress shop and Michael says he has company and to not come over. Later, Cassie dials *69 and realizes it’s a dress shop and now thinks Josh is having an affair. The next day, Cassie/Billy confront Josh again at Lewis Oil and he’s adamant he’s not having an affair. Meanwhile, the clone locks Michael in a bedroom (he’s so weak in this storyline), and she goes to Lewis Oil and says hi to Cassie haha. She tells her they met in the park (when she was younger), but Cassie of course doesn’t recognize her. She then says she loves Josh and Cassie realizes this is the girl he’s having an affair with. Josh hears them screaming at each other and he rushes her out and back home to Michael’s. Josh finally sits the clone down and explains what happened to the real Reva and who the clone is. Of course she’s pissed off about the whole thing and thinks she’s a freak. Later, Michael finally tells Cassie that he’s been working on a rapid age project and the two Reva girls she saw were the same person, which she doesn’t believe at all. Josh tells the clone he doesn’t want her to age anymore and to just enjoy life at her own pace, but she wants to get older because she loves him. Just as she says she loves him and hugs him, Cassie is at the door and hears it and goes off on them for being together and cheating on Reva. The clone is feisty towards Cassie and threatens to beat her up LOL. Josh finally just tells Cassie the truth about everything and she’s very sad, but thinks it’s disgusting and runs off as the clone takes more of her aging serum so she and Josh can be the same age and together. The clone now wants to have sex with Josh, and he declines her, but she pulls him into a kiss. He stops it and later, Cassie says she’ll play along only because she wants to protect Marah/Shayne. Dinah sees Cassie/Josh together and starts to assume they’re having an affair. Ok now the clone wants to go to Genoa City because a soap opera, Y&R, is based there and she wants to meet Mrs. Chancellor, but Cassie/Josh tell her it’s not real and just a soap opera that Billy and Wanda used to watch on their lunch break LOL. Josh has to tell her not everything you see on TV is real. I wonder why they added that in there - publicity for Y&R or because they got so much backlash on this story not being realistic? Meanwhile, the real Reva is walking around the deserted island screaming for help, threatening fish and eating coconuts LOL. Oh, now she’s having blurry visions of a man picking her up, which she realizes with her hurt leg, she couldn’t have gotten from the shore to where she is now. Now a man on the island is watching her from a distance. She’s made a little shelter and screaming out that she’s a SURVIVOR. Really makes you wonder if the producers of Survivor got the idea from GL haha. Why is her voice so southern twang now on the island? So ridiculous haha. Now she’s skinny dipping at night and the man finally reveals himself and tells her to get out. He’s a handsome, hunky shirtless man, how lucky. Josh who? LOL… But she won’t shut up and he gets annoyed by her, so he walks away. She finds him fishing the next day and he handles her well, although she annoys him haha. She finally tries to be nice and get to know him, but he’s very guarded other than saying he came on a boat and sunk it, so he’s been a recluse on the island awhile now.
  17. LOL! Ya know, I really didn't like Buzz AT ALL in 1995-1996, but when Jenna came back, he got way more calm and likable throughout 1997-1998. It's like Deas was on something that made him so hyper and 'on' in the beginning, and then he took some much needed chill pills. I don't really mind him anymore, at least right now haha.
  18. LOL - Oh Skunk, I remember him. He wasn't really developed, but I get what you're saying, she made more sense being paired to an outsider or 'bad boy' vs. the good/righteous boy Frank and Rick. Even when she pined over the newer Harts, it was more of a fantasy, but you can tell she belongs with someone more gritty/less perfect. Man I miss Bridget, she was great. Another one with an awful goodbye - just randomly out of the blue, good bye. GL wasn't great with sending characters off (in the 90s).
  19. I've found this to be so weird too, as a contract player. I've watched her for 3 years now (March 1995-April 1998) and she's just a background diner waitress. She had one amazing scene when Nadine died, and then she finally got to play in a storyline when Jenna returned and they were bringing down Jeffrey for a couple weeks. Otherwise, she's barely been used in 3 years, which I find odd considering Eleni was a big character with Melina. They never gave Roszell a chance at all, from the beginning. She's not a bad actress, so I wish they gave her more. At least Frank's had something to do with his police academy and being town detective.
  20. @alwaysAMC You are now irrevocably down the rabbit hole. 😂 Yeah, the story is insane, but it doesn't last that long, so there's that. Hahaha, I'm happy to know it doesn't last too long. I'm actually just finishing up April 1998 and it's been probably my least favorite month of GL since I started my watch in February 1995. Part of the problem is you have Reva on an island with a new character, but then you have Reva as a clone with Josh/Cassie/etc, so 2/3 of each episode all month is Reva. The only other big storyline going on is Beth/Harley/Phillip and the mystery of who killed Carl. Carl is a new character with no history, was only on like 4 episodes, he's a creep, and we're supposed to care about who killed him in the family? Just move on already... it's a bad merry-go-round. The only positive in the story is Lillian is featured and has something to do! LOL. But yeah, all the other stories/characters have been MIA in April, so it's been a grind getting through it. I'll post my April recaps later this weekend!
  21. Was this the first time since the premiere episode seeing Derek shirtless? About time!
  22. No need to apologize, I appreciate it! I saw the clip you sent too of Alan's secretary and noticed there are about ~30 parts, so one of these days soon, I'll try and watch those
