  1. I loved the Hamp reference too And I had no idea Jim was actually on GL back in the day, I just assumed the Lemays were created when Susan/Jim came to town in 98/99. That's cool! Ahh that makes sense. I get the respect thing. Based on the interview itself, I'm surprised she even bothered giving it too haha.
  2. Oh wow, I didn't know this... I hope it's not true! They were such a great supercouple in the 90s with such a fairytale wedding. If they really despised each other, it thankfully never came across on screen.
  3. Wow! That's wild, thanks for the details! I'm glad they were able to eventually work through it and stay co-workers for decades after. I'm shocked to hear the news about Kate Mulgrew and her RH co-stars. I love Kate from Star Trek: Voyager (never watched RH), and I've met her before - she was very sweet to me and called me a handsome man (haha). I just refuse to believe she was hated by so many people
  4. I’m up to May 24, 1999. *So much good stuff happening with a few cameos! May sweeps was good this year. The contacts that Harley gave Drew lead nowhere, so Drew tells Selena she should continue her search for her daughter, which Selena says no to. She tells Drew she isn’t interested in explaining herself to her daughter and her life is now happy and she doesn’t want to disrupt that, but Drew still doesn’t understand her change of mind. Abby is struggling over the decision of getting cochlear implants, which starts to drive a wedge between her and Rick. She meets with a deaf person who is against it, saying deaf people can be whole people without help. Rick confides in Phillip about it all, and he accuses Rick of being selfish because he wants Abby to hear, but Rick tells him the story about falling in love with Abby when he met her over Halloween in the hospital (such a sweet memory there). He starts to cry and says he wishes he could experience concerts and waterfalls with his wife so she can hear what he hears. Ben goes to Blake’s house and she is adamant they are never getting back together. Ross and India plan their next date and then Ross heads over to Blake’s to meet about their plan to help Holly. He arrives and sees Ben there, but Blake is clear she’s done with Ben, and Ben is annoyed that Ross/Blake are meeting up and leaves. He finds India and she tells Ben that she and Ross are doing really well together, but Ben tells her that Ross and Blake are together right now (just to irk her). Michelle and Bill lament together over their Santos relationships and Michelle voices her theory that Carmen set up the shoot-out. Bill thinks there is no way Carmen would have done that because Pilar could have been killed. Pilar is now concerned for her mom, so she wants to stay and help her, and she also pushes Bill away and decides not to go to Josh/Reva’s wedding as his date. Reva is getting ready for her big wedding day and she and Cassie talk about how Cassie will get to meet more of the family (Hawk, Dylan, etc). Reva says she’s a little anxious about Susan and Dylan meeting (he’s her bio dad). We then see Susan leave the house and run right into Dylan (5/19)! It’s good to see Dylan back, and he realizes that the girl is Daisy and it’s a nice little moment. Harley and Phillip walk up just as Susan asks how Dylan is related to the family, and Harley introduces him as her father, which shocks Susan. I wish Beth Ehlers was here for this big reveal, but oh well. Dylan tells a crying Susan that his biggest regret in life is not being there when she was born. He tells her about living in Minnesota with Bridget and Peter and working at the school for the blind. Susan leaves and tells Jim that she met her ‘real dad’, without understanding how hurtful that sounds. Reva tells her that Jim is her real dad, and Jim/Dylan finally meet. Dylan thanks him for raising an amazing girl and everyone is finally happy. The big outdoor wedding day has arrived (5/20) and Rusty shows up to support Josh, along with Billy, Bill and Dylan. As Reva is getting ready with Cassie and Marah, she gets a letter from Roxie, which says she’s so happy for them, she’s sorry she can’t be at the wedding, but she’s thinking of them. Hawk then shows up and surprises Reva and she cries happy tears. Hawk then welcomes Cassie to the family and says he doesn’t hold anything against her. Reva then talks to HB and Sarah’s pictures privately, which were sweet moments. Buzz is back from London with all his money and bought a new suit for the wedding. He also surprised Selena with a new dress and they go to the wedding happy together, but Selena is still nervous about Drew and her meddling about her daughter. Alan and Annie are finally back and we see them sitting far apart from each other at the long breakfast table, barely talking and it’s clear Annie is bored. Jim arrives to pick up Beth as his wedding date, with Vicky tagging along. Annie gets upset with Alan for not offering her coffee like he does Jim, and as they’re leaving, she makes awkward comments about not being able to go to the wedding. Annie then gets upset that so many people live at the house like it’s a train station. She then pressures Alan on when he’s going to marry her so she isn’t alone. He presents a ring box, which she gets excited over, but when she opens it, there’s a key inside. Alan says he’s giving her what she wished for - to be out of the crowded mansion and into an apartment all to herself. She’s pissed and asks how he could kick her out on the day of Reva/Josh’s wedding. As he leaves to get ready to visit the apartment, she secretly leaves the mansion with a plan. He comes back to the room, sees the key on the table and yells out her name, realizing she left. Back at the wedding, Abby and Rick are discussing her potential procedure and she’s still on the fence, but Rick is now adamant that she has it done. Dylan tells Harley and Phillip that he thinks Max might be too old for Susan. Michelle and Bill lament together over their issues with Danny and Pilar. Buzz and Selena arrive and say hi to Frank, with Buzz asking where Eleni is and Frank saying he doesn’t want to discuss it right now (yikes). Drew is in a sour mood because she doesn’t understand how Selena can give up her search for her daughter, and Jesse is trying to calm her down. She tells him to find them seats and she’ll be right back, and we later see her back at Selena’s place (still living at the Bauer’s) snooping around. She finds Selena’s old book of ‘John’s’, remembering she was a hooker back in the day and wonders why she would keep it. Michelle then walks in and interrupts her. Michelle says she’s forgiven her for sleeping with Danny and she also tells her how Danny and Pilar are back with Carmen at the Santos house because of the shoot-out. They bond a bit and reaffirm their friendship. Michelle leaves and Drew then finds the box of information that Selena was hiding that confirms their relationship. As Reva is preparing to walk down the aisle, in walks Annie! Reva begs her not to ruin her wedding day, and Cassie and Hawk threaten to remove her. We see Josh and the guests wondering what’s taking so long. Annie then says she wouldn’t miss this for the world and reaches into her purse. We then see the wedding guests as a gunshot goes off, startling everyone! Come to find out, Annie just popped open a champagne bottle instead and Cassie tries to get Josh and the guests to calm down. Annie then tells Reva her wedding gift to her is giving up, and she will no longer meddle in their lives. Alan then shows up and drags her away. Hawk then walks Reva down the aisle and the wedding starts. Billy, Cassie, Matt, Abby, Buzz, Dylan, Shayne/Marah, and Susan all give vows to Josh/Reva, which was different but sweet. Reva and Josh then say their sweet vows to each other. They’re pronounced man and wife (5/21), and as everyone is celebrating, Reva sees a vision of her mom Sarah who tells her she’s so happy for them. Pilar eventually shows up to the wedding reception, which makes Bill happy, and she apologizes to Vanessa for her first impression, which Vanessa excuses. She then asks what her last name is and Vanessa is visibly upset when Pilar says Santos. Vanessa later tells Bill she’s not comfortable with him being associated with a dangerous family, and Pilar later tells Bill she noticed the fear in Vanessa’s eyes. Abby tells Rick she now wants to go through with the procedure, which makes him happy. Billy/David/Vicky reminisce about David’s arrival to SF back during Hamp and Gilly’s wedding, which was apparently dramatic. Dylan then sings a song as a surprise to Reva, which was pretty cringe I hate to say, but he tells Reva he wrote it with inspiration from his love of Bridget, which I liked. Susan finds a way to bump into Max, who tells her she’s beautiful and asks to dance. They stiffly dance while everyone else is frozen in time (interesting), but we then see it’s all a dream by Susan. Max then actually runs into Susan and says the music sucks. Ross and Blake run into each other and kindly start dancing, but Blake allows India to take over when she walks up. Before Reva and Josh can sneak away, Cassie makes her throw her bouquet, which Beth ultimately catches and Jim notices. Dylan pulls Susan aside and says he’ll have to go back home soon, but would love to have her visit in the summer, which she agrees to, and he leaves her with a box of pictures. Reva and Josh later end their wedding night with a very romantic love scene. Earlier during the vows, Jesse pulls Selena/Buzz aside and tells them Drew is gone, which freaks Selena out because she knows she’s out there snooping. Selena leaves for her place and finds a crying, angry Drew looking through the box and Drew screams to her that she’s the dirty little secret she’s been hiding; she’s her daughter (finally!). Drew cries about how she wasn’t wanted yet again, and how everyone lies to her, but Selena said she wanted to protect her. She tells Drew she wanted to give her a nice story to feel good about. These ladies are really doing a great job with this reveal. Tammy Blanchard (Drew) has come a LONG way for me. As Selena keeps pleading with Drew, Jesse and Buzz arrive and Drew cries to Jesse that Selena lied and Jesse says he knows, which shocks Drew. She realizes Buzz knew too and she’s the only one in the dark and screams to Jesse not to touch her. She then breaks down realizing that Max isn’t her brother, but then says there is no way she will tell him the truth since he’s doing so well and this would tear him apart. Buzz points out that she’s doing exactly what Selena did with her, but Drew says as far as she’s concerned, this night never happened and she’s not Selena’s daughter. She storms out, with Jesse running after her, leaving Selena to break down into Buzz’s arms.
  5. Thanks for linking these! Interesting reads. I hope I'm not crucified by saying this, but she kind of seems like a... well, a lot to deal with haha. I at least wish she had more respect for GL or enjoyed working there. I know she didn't like the grueling work schedule, but it would have been nice to have her back at least as a cameo somehow for the fans, but she clearly wasn't interested. Yep, he was. Josh/Annie got married in Dec 1995 and Billy came back briefly in Sept 1996 and then again in Jan 1997 after being released. Reading my recaps of Dec 1995 - gosh that was such good soap opera for me! Josh/Annie are married in a snowstorm, Alex realizes Reva is alive and rushes to the wedding and announces it to everyone, showing the CCTV footage of Reva/Buzz dancing at the diner... then Josh leaves his wedding and comes face to face with Reva on Alan's plane... all while Marian attacks Susan at the boarding house in the shower, Psycho-style. What a time to be alive! Haha.
  6. Oh wow, well that's cool they did something like this. Even written by Beth C! Some of those reviews though are ouch LOL.
  7. I was gone all weekend with friends and just catching up. I'm now at Reva/Josh's wedding! They never explicitly named a best man or maid of honor (probably because of this very thing we're talking about), but Billy was there standing with Josh along with Bill, Dylan and Rusty. I remember during Josh's wedding to Annie, Matt was his best man (they actually seem to be friends here and there since they also work together). @DRW50 - what was the Lorelei book you were talking about? Is that a real book or something in a storyline?
  8. I'm happy to hear this. I wasn't aware of this story or actor, and hadn't been watching GH back then, but so sad to hear about his senseless murder. RIP
  9. I was just going to post this question haha - that seems so odd to me!
  10. This one I didn't know! Would love to know more about it... One I recently heard about directly from Signy Coleman in an interview she did over the last couple years... Kim Zimmer did not treat her well and they just didn't get along, as much as Signy says she wishes they could. So GL's Annie vs. Reva on-screen and Kim vs. Signy off-screen haha.
  11. Yeah I remember a few months ago us talking about the lack of true friendships on the show, and here is another example as y'all point out - just seems forced for the bigger events. I think you're right, only Abby is a true non-family or ex-husband friend that Reva actually has. And to the point about Reva asking about Holly... that was nice, but should could go visit her in the hospital if she really cared, especially since the writers made Reva be the one to save her from jumping over the bridge (instead of Blake - grr). Beth really is a sad sack. She's bouncing from man to man, but has zero confidence, is so jealous and insecure, and mean... it's sad to see even though I like catty fights on my soaps haha. I think there might have been a throwaway line about Rick when Annie returned, but generally speaking no. He wasn't there for Annie's trial. He did have a quick scene with her after the trial when she was doing her community service at the hospital and they delivered a baby. That's pretty shocking that San Cristobel doesn't end up being much about Reva/Josh in the end. Because you're right, it all starts with them very heavily. So I guess this is more for Cassie and her finding a new love?
  12. I love to hear it and thank you! Yep, they were all hurt and I'm ok with it too. It's clear where their true feelings are and I'm excited to see the day that Manny can finally be happy and together without a dark cloud over their heads or any stress from Carmen. That 2004 storyline sounds wild!!
  13. Ok so last night's episode and then the mid-season trailer just reaffirmed by feelings for Margo. She's not a nice person.
  14. Totally agree here... until the mother's tattoo backstory comes out, I have zero interest in the BLQ/Chase/baby stuff.
  15. Ohh good cliffhanger again today! Will she or won't she? Great week, even if no Willow/Drew. So much happening with good drama and cliffhangers. Other soaps take note...
  16. Congrats on your upcoming retirement! And enjoy catching up here in a couple months!
  17. I’m up to May 17, 1999. Rick finds the article about cochlear implants and asks Abby if she’s considering it. She gets angry and accuses him of conspiring with Michelle and Reva, and says everyone thinks she’s defective. Rick is able to calm Abby down and reassure her that he will love her no matter what and for always. Abby then tells Rick they can at least go to the doctor and just hear him out. They visit the doctor and he says he can give her a test to see if she’s a viable candidate, but they’re booked out about 6 months in advance, which bums Abby out. Reva is spending the day with Marah and Susan and overhears Susan talking about how much she likes Max. Reva warns her to watch out for his bad behavior, but Susan then sees the San Cristobel brochure and says she knows that place. She did a report about it at school and can tell Reva everything she wants about it. She says it’s ruled by royalty, a Prince, and they’ve ruled for over 100 years. Reva shows them the ring she found and Susan notices an August 22 date inscribed inside, which is a huge holiday where they celebrate the royal family. They now wonder if Sarah knew the royal family and the girls think it’s so cool while Reva seems shocked, but becomes resolved in believing it’s just a memento she bought. Later at Millennium, Susan and Marah see Max and Susan gets giddy. Max apologizes to her and says he’d love to come to her birthday party, if Harley will allow it, and she says of course Harley will and Marah gives her a side eye look. Vanessa is debuting a new lighter hair color (5/12)! She’s with Matt and meets Bill at Millennium, who acknowledges the blonde and says he likes it. She notices he’s distracted and he then says he wants to stay in town now over the summer, so she presses if there’s a girl in his life. He says yes, but it’s nothing too serious yet, but once Vanessa hears she’s a waitress, she’s a bit disappointed at first and then quickly recovers by saying she’ll support him with anyone. Michelle angrily confronts Drew about sleeping with Danny. Drew apologizes and says it was a mistake and meant nothing, but Michelle still lays into her. Drew tells Michelle that Danny still loves her and she doesn’t want to lose their friendship, but Michelle says she’s embarrassed to have known her just as Jesse walks in. Michelle yells at him and says she now sees their true colors and leaves. Meanwhile, Pilar is giving Danny a hard time about sleeping with Drew too, and losing Michelle. Disappointed, she storms out of her room just as Bill and Vanessa are walking by to his boarding house room. She blows Bill off and walks away, and Vanessa questions why he would be with her, but Bill says to just forget everything he said about Pilar. Later, Bill confronts Pilar about her attitude and she says all guys are the same and tells him about Danny/Drew having sex. After talking, Pilar cools off and Bill says that was his mother with him earlier and she feels awful that was her first impression. He asks her on a date that night and she says yes, but she wants to wear a special dress that is at her mom’s house, so they plan to sneak in and grab it without seeing her. An angry Michelle gets drunk with her college guy friends, but Danny takes her away from them. He tries to sober her up, and tells her again how he wants to be with her. She is angry and begs him to have sex with her because it’s clear that’s all he cares about with women, but he throws her into a cold shower and she breaks down crying and they hug each other fully clothed under the shower. They dry off and Michelle says their worlds are too different and she can’t handle his lifestyle, but he promises to change for her because she’s his world (aww). Carmen calls Ben over and tells him about her children disowning her. She comes up with a scheme to make her children want her back by staging a shootout at the house. Ben reluctantly agrees to help, with his role being to get Danny over to the house to see Carmen in danger/almost dead. She thinks they’ll realize how much they love her when she almost dies. Later, as the house is dark and empty, Bill and Pilar arrive to grab her dress. We then see Danny/Michelle kissing, but Ben calls and tells Danny that he just dropped his mother off at home and as he drove away, he heard gunfire and there might have been an attempt at her life. Danny freaks out and they both leave to head to the house. We then see Pilar and Bill kiss in the dark living room while a mobster starts loading his gun outside (Friday cliffhanger!). Boo, we don’t see the actual shootout, but the next scene shows Carmen walking into the house and seeing blown out glass, smoke and Bill and Pilar lying on the floor. She screams out “what have I done?”, and cries just as Bill wakes up and they realize Pilar has been shot and is unconscious. Danny and Michelle then arrive and Pilar comes to, but Carmen almost gives up her story by saying it was her fault that Pilar almost died. Ben arrives and says there was an assassination attempt on Carmen’s life and she snaps out of it and continues to go along with their plan, but Michelle questions her on why she said it was her fault. Ben is able to move the conversation along and Carmen thanks Bill for saving her daughter’s life. Danny decides to stay at the house and get to the bottom of what happened. Carmen thanks Ben privately and says he’s one of them now, and she pulls him into a kiss! Josh has his bachelor party with Billy, Matt, Jim, David, Rick and Phillip where they’re playing poker (5/13). Seeing Phillip here reminds me they’ve completely dropped the ball on the Lewis Oil ownership story because last we saw Phillip/Josh/Reva together, they were not on good terms. Anyway, Rick is funny per usual and later tells Phillip about Abby’s possible cochlear implant journey. Reva has her bachelorette party at the country club with Vanessa, Blake, Abby, Harley and Cassie, where they’re having tea and being posh (5/13). On the side, Vanessa apologizes again to Cassie about Hart and says she hopes they will one day be friends again. Lillian and an apprehensive Beth arrive and Lillian raves about Vanessa’s new hair color. Beth and Cassie have an awkward encounter, with Beth commenting it’s interesting that Cassie is able to wear a short dress just after her pregnancy (Beth is such a jealous lady). Beth later tells Lillian that Cassie is a very insecure woman (pot calling the kettle black!). While Reva opens gifts, Abby has an experience of not being able to hear everyone have side chats about the gifts and you can tell she’s frustrated. Reva later asks Blake about Holly, saying she misses her. Cassie then gives a toast, wishing Reva a happy ever after fairytale with Josh. The ladies are then surprised with ‘entertainment’ when the guys all come over from their party and start dancing to Macho Man LOL. Some take off their shirts (Phillip, Jim and David) while others keep their tank tops on, and Cassie is hilarious standing on a table filming the whole thing with a 90s-style camcorder. As the party ends, Reva shows Vanessa her ring with the San Cristobel crest and Vanessa says there is no way Sarah got that from some street merchant as memorabilia, because it’s real gold and worth a lot of money. While at the party, Drew (who is catering a cake) talks to Harley about Max, in hopes to get her to lighten up about him. They then talk about how Harley was helping Selena find her daughter before she asked her to quit. Drew is now determined to find Selena’s daughter, given how finding her own ‘mother’ brought her happiness and a new brother. Harley gives her the names/numbers of people she worked with when investigating before, and Drew hugs her. Meanwhile, Selena is back and tells Jesse and Frank the news about Buzz being a millionaire now. But, Frank is still upset about Buzz forging the birth certificate and continues to flip flop on what he wants to do, but Selena promises that Drew will keep Max on the straight and narrow and he finally concedes. After the festivities, Reva/Josh/Cassie ponder on how Sarah could afford something so valuable, but Josh notices there is a tiny slit in the ring. He’s able to open it and there is a picture of a baby inside! Reva is really uncertain now, but Josh asks her to stop thinking about this at least until after their wedding and then he promises while in San Cristobel, they’ll do some research. She then has another dream of rocking a baby and wakes up and tells Josh about it, saying the baby she was rocking was the baby in the picture in the ring! Josh starts to get fed up and they get into an argument, with Josh telling her she always needs drama in her life and he’s sick of it. They eventually make up and cry to each other about loving each other. After the party, Jim and Beth stay at the country club and have a romantic evening of dancing and they start kissing heavily and talk about how if they don’t stop, they’ll end up having sex which they both want but are afraid since it’s been so long for either of them. As they’re making out, Cassie walks in because she forgot her purse. Cassie awkwardly leaves and Beth asks to go back to Jim’s, but he says it’s best he takes her home for now, which upsets Beth. Blake visits Holly and they talk about how courageous Holly is for letting Fletcher go. Blake talks about how she’s ended things with Ben and she will be firm in that decision. Blake says the two of them have a new chapter in life coming up and they are going to conquer it together. Ross overhears all of this, as he came by to check in on Holly. He tells Blake he heard their conversation and that Holly is lucky to have a daughter like her. They talk about Holly’s upcoming hearing for the judge to decide whether she’s been rehabilitated or not, and Blake has an idea. The judge is up for reelection, so Blake wants to have a media blitz about mothers loving their children and then apply pressure on the judge to free Holly so he looks like he’s a man of the people and supports mothers. Ross likes the idea and said he’ll help her, and Holly later tells them she likes to see them together, which makes both Blake and Ross look at each other in a fond way.
  18. I've been traveling this week, so haven't seen yesterday's episode yet... but seeing that Marco died was heartbreaking. The Lucas/Ava scene was so sad (and good). Sidwell... well, he's something else LOL. The ending, watching Danny cry out for his dad, was also strong. Probably that kid's best performance for me, to-date. Also love the Rocco/Lulu scenes this week.
  19. Oh YES he did - LOL. I just watched... oh boy. :)
  20. I'm pumped! I love that many of the fun details from the books that never made it into the movies should show up in the series, now that we have much more time on screen.
  21. Well damn, I wasn't sure if he would really die or not... but this answers it. Sidwell won't like this!
  22. Totally agree. Great scenes today with these two. Tamara has my Emmy vote!
  23. Great! Happy to hear it :) 1995 is still my favorite out of the years I've watched so far... but I just know I'll prefer 89-93 once I get to it.
  24. Ohhh good point. Gosh, this story could have some wild tentacles.
