  1. Stacey goes to visit Jean, December 2005: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5QhxMC_fXp4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PHID23iZxs4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wGyngd9s8Pw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  2. It sounds like a Destiny's Child reject filler album cut from 1999. It's hideous and all over the place.
  3. Wasn't Who Shot Phil? in April 2001 too? I was ready for Ricky to leave. He was entirely lost without Bianca the first time around, and I won't even get into his stint during the early part of the Louise Berrridge era. Patsy is starting to annoy me. Don't return if you don't want to, stop stringing the show and the fans along. To be honest, the way she's treating the show as some safety net in case a bigger opportunity doesn't work out screams disrespect. She's lucky Matthew Robinson isn't the EP, he would have had Bianca killed off much like he did with Tiffany when Martine was pulling the same crap.
  4. Samantha Womack is joining the cast of South Pacific, and the article says she set to leave EastEnders in August. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1378887/Samantha-Womack-leaves-gloom-Albert-Square-sunshine-South-Pacific.html
  5. Yeah, I thought that Whitney scene was very believable. Considering her naivete and weakness for men who sweet talk her as a result of her sexual abuse... Whitney, Kat, and Ronnie are all victims of sexual abuse and seem to deal with that scar very differently.
  6. I really enjoyed this episode. It had a great mix of character, even if I'm not really invested in Fatboy/Mercy, and the fall out from the baby swapping is strong. I really enjoyed the scenes with Charlie, Kat, and Tommy. For the first time Kat mentioned Zoe in the way she should be mentioned. Kat can't bond with Tommy, not only because of the swapping, but also because she's not sure how to be a mother due to her experience with Zoe. Everything about Kat's character ultimately goes back to her relationship with Zoe. I wish Lynne would have visited Kat along with Charlie. I always enjoyed her relationship with Kat, and according to Kat, after Viv and Charlie found out she was pregnant with Zoe, they looked at her with disgust, and it was only Lynne who was the parental force in her from then on to her. I don't really care about Fatboy and Mercy, but they were tolerable filler. I wonder if Dot is sympathetic towards Ronnie becuase she thinks she's failed Ronnie as a force of guidance, or because she genuinely excuses Ronnie's actions. I think Carol and Max are more sympathetic towards what Ronnie put Jack through than Ronnie herself, even though they advised Jack to go and see her. Too bad Bianca and Ronnie can't meet in prison, given how much they hate each other. That was a great last scene between Ronnie and Jack with her telling him to forget about her. I have to say it again, these past few epsiodes are the best work Scott Maslen has ever done on this show, even though I will never be a Jack fan. I always enjoy Christopher Reason's episodes, there just seems to be extra heart and community in them.
  7. Sh!t They used Julia's Theme! That always makes my eyes water for some reason, especially when it's used in the right context. It also sort of mirrored Kat and Alfie's first Julia's Theme moment when they walked off after Alfie crashed Kat and Andy's wedding in 2003, with them just walking away. This storyline has been bumpy, especially when they had to hold back on things because of the public outrage, but the aftermath has been handled with a lot of thought. I never thought I would feel sorry for Jack, but I do. Out of everyone Ronnie hurt, it has to be him hurting the most. Unlike Kat and Alfie, Jack knew and trusted Ronnie, and it all just backfired in his face. I think the aftermath of this story has been the best acting Scott Maslen has ever done on this show. Jack's goodbye scenes with Tommy were so sad to watch. Samantha Womack's scenes with the psychiatrist were riveting. Ronnie sort of morphed into Archie and then into herself at times. I loved the scenes with Kat and the Social Worker, that was such a Kat scene. I wish Kat would have mentioned Zoe somehow, because everything about her thought-line ultimately goes back to the iconic storyline with Zoe, as Ronnie's also goes back to Danielle. And again, I love a good Julia's Theme moment!
  8. Kylie feels like a really bad Stacey Slater clone of the early years. Personality and backstory at least.
  9. I'd write Steve out too while they're at it...
  10. Has anyone ever seen this TV Movie Robin Strasser was in during one of her breaks from OLTL? It looks interesting, especially as she's playing someone so different from Dorian. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/BbaWXNhNyc4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  11. If Judith returned, then Brynn Thayer would probably return too. I know they're best friends in real life to this day. I wish they'd say that Jenny joined Karen somewhere in the witness protection program. I never understood why JFP had the character killed off.
  12. The OLTL segment of Judith's Intimate Portrait: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Z8NTQJaCb_E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  13. Yeah, Robin and Judith seemed very close during this time. When they were both nominated for the Emmy in 1981, Robin looked genuinely happy when Judith won, and Judith was filled with glee when Robin won a year later. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pj8wwqgmdBo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nyB0ZJBOSos" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  14. Karen's testimony is OLTL's defining pop culture moment. Every soap has at least one, for OLTL, it's Karen on the witness stand. Forget Eterna, Old West, Heaven, Marty's gang rape, etc. I don't think they will go down in soap opera legend like Karen's testimony. OLTL had very complex characters in the late 70's. Karen was not the most likeable person, but somehow, you felt for her and wanted her to find some sort of happiness and confidence. You just don't get those types of characters on American soaps any more. That said, at the very least, maybe Judith would do a cameo appearance. But, outside of Vicki and possibly Dorian, who would she know on the show?
  15. Thank goodness for marcowuzmypimp... I want to see more late 70's OLTL. There's something about Gordon Russel's writing that intrigues me deeply.
  16. I guess you're counting down the days until the Max/Tanya reunion then?
  17. EastEnders very rarely does hour long epsiodes, and when they do it, it's usually to make up for an episode not airing in that particular week. They could have possibly done a Kat/Ronnie and Max/Tanya four-hander though. But those kinds of episodes are rare too.
  18. Wow, that was an intense episode. Samantha Womack, Jessie Wallace, and Jo Joyner were all superb. Carl is going to be upset over Max and Tanya's kiss. Though, I thought Tanya was genuinely worried about Max and Abi. I guess we'll probably get an affair storyline somewhere down the line, it's been pretty much set up. Vanessa was her most interesting in this episode to me. Especially in her scenes with Jean, Kat, and Alfie. I wonder if she'll go batshit crazy when Max and Tanya get even closet. Scott Maslen FINALLY stepped it up. In his three years on the show, I think this was the best acting he's ever done. I was genuinely sorry for Jack, which I never feel when he's concerned. You felt it all slip away from him and how losing Tommy/James really hurt him. Jessie Wallace and Samantha Womack brilliantly played the revelation scenes. The whole episode built up to Ronnie finally coming to terms of what she did and how she needed to finally clear her conscience from it, and Kat's reaction as Ronnie was revealing it all was very shocked. On set with Jo Joyner: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YyumxRqZ3xA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  19. I'll never pretend she's the best actress ever, but I thought she just gelled very well playing Cindy Beale on EastEnders, and had a very good rapport with her castmembers. The same probably wouldn't be true for her on Corrie. Well, at least she'll finally get some revenge on Mathew Robinson and Mal Young, who apparently did like her and had Cindy killed because of it.
  20. I liked that type of exit better when they gave it to Elsie and then Bet...
  21. Sounds like something a one-hit wonder German 90's dance act would do. Way too busy, not really that fun, but I'm sure the deluded segment of monsters and gays will eat it up as if it's never been done before.
  22. Seems like she was playing an older version of Janine on Crossroads anyway.
  23. I don't ever want to imagine this show without Dot. Dot is the one character that everyone on the show knows and can interact with naturally. She's a real pillar of the community. If she ever leaves, that will be lost forever. I know she left briefly in the mid 90's, but I think Dot has taken more of a central role since she came back in '97 and is too embedded into the fabric of Walford.
  24. Ricky: You were on the game once, weren't ya? Pat (with eyes bulging out): EXCUSE ME! Dot was great in this episode as well. You're going to love Tanya's mother, Carl. She's always making cracks about Tanya's weight, and basically called her out on being gold-digging trash.
  25. Rihanna said she's planning a video for the S&M remix and hopes to spank Britney in it. lol
