  1. It's definitely eccentric and very much Jane Campion's work. Its structure is a little unwieldy in terms of episode endings and cohesive narrative, but it's also unlike any TV I saw in the last few years - and worth it, IMO. It has a very distinct point of view.
  2. Fantastic news for me, anyway: Gwendoline Christie, after dancing with Madonna and mid-filming Episode VIII of Star Wars, books the second season of Jane Campion's incredible Top of the Lake, which everyone should watch. Season 1 is still on Netflix.
  3. Buzzfeed has more on Corey Lewandowski, Trump's angry major domo.
  4. Politico covers the GOP pondering The End.
  5. It's been developing since she met Morgan at the very least, but to me it goes back to Lizzie, Mika and Sam.
  6. Carol's allowed to be more than one thing.
  7. I do think he gave a very atypical performance from what he's known for, very mannered but not too much. I'd love to see Sam again and there are rumors but no one knows. I do think both Sheryl Lee and Dana Ashbrook still go way beyond the beyond in the film in that classically Lynch over the top of the top way, but it doesn't really play much for laughs in the film. (Except for when Laura's stoned, and that's pretty dark humor.) That being said he was a big fan of the comedy in the show and pushed it to where it went there (until mid-Season 2), and there was a lot of comedy cut from the film.
  8. Belated update: That was in fact the same December teaser. Le sigh. But hey - there's this, which may (or may not) be from Dr. Jacoby's infamous Hawaiian-themed office/apartment, complete with its island wallpaper: In other news, Alicia Witt's TWD appearance last weekend really makes me hope her heavy hints about returning to TP are true and that Gersten Hayward has a much-expanded role with her big sister presumably out of town.
  9. THR indicates CBS showed a TP teaser trailer to investors. Unknown if that's new or the BTS one from December. Fingers crossed.
  10. More juicy Marco autopsies for Carl.
  11. Probably the night that destroyed Marco Rubio forever. I'd never seen this in its entirety - staggering. Chris Christie may have since turned himself into Trump's Salacious Crumb, but he's absolutely right here.
  12. It's a secret.
  13. The NY Times has Republicans pondering their options. WaPo writes Rubio's epitaph.
  14. Paul Begala on Rubio: "He's a guy with a great future behind him."
  15. He just called it. Adieu, small Marco.
  16. To each their own!
  17. Jennifer Jason Leigh talks to Metro and confirms her involvement while saying nothing.
  18. Terribly excited about a whispered-about reunion that's apparently coming up:
  19. Politico on Trump's thuggish campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, whose assault on Michelle Fields prompted the ongoing Breitbart implosion (two more staffers have resigned on top of Fields and Ben Shapiro). Other members of Team Trump have attempted a coup.
  20. Brad Dukes, author of the incredible and essential TP oral history Reflections, talks to Pamela Gidley (Teresa Banks) from FWWM on his podcast.
  21. The hilarious Breitbart civil war over Trump continues as assaulted reporter Michelle Fields and editor Ben Shapiro resign. Followed by mocking Breitbart editorial.
