  1. That was deeply satisfying. That is all. Oh, and much more Yara and Daenerys, please. Putting these too-often-dismissed siblings with her was a master stroke. This has been a very, very strong season, possibly the strongest since Season 3 IMO (though Season 4 was pretty good and Season 5 had a lot of great stuff amidst the treading water). Littlefinger is always out for Littlefinger. He told Cersei he will wait the victor out then take the North for himself and that's exactly what he intends to do before coming for King's Landing itself. Sansa did what she had to to take back the North but she can never take her eye off him - if I was her I'd execute him, now, and blame it on the Boltons. The Northern houses will fall in line but I agree that the Umbers at the very least should have their reigning ranks dismantled and executed for what they did to Rickon and Osha. As for Davos and Melisandre, I knew the moment they both turned up at Castle Black last season that he would find out what she did to Shireen. Other fans thought it would be forgotten but I knew it wouldn't be. There will be no stopping him from killing her unless she kills him first, or they do each other, which is entirely possible.
  2. I'm only about 30 minutes in but can Daenerys finally dump Daario and get with Yara? I'm so glad they've made the Greyjoy siblings more relevant, and in such an unexpected plotline. Gemma Whelan is a delight.
  3. Two reasons: One, because he's cheap and never likes putting up his own money when he can con it out of others. This goes back to his long days in real estate in NY, back to his casino fraud in Vegas. A million examples. And two, because as Mark Cuban and others have said, Trump is far less rich than he claims. His liquid assets are small. He gets by on his brand, con games, pyramid schemes like Trump University and calculated bankruptcies.
  4. From a 2002 documentary about Lynch which emerged online - Lynch, Sheryl Lee and Kyle MacLachlan discuss FWWM at 20:55. Kyle represents really the mainstream view of the film from the '90s, one shared by a number of cast members (Peggy Lipton, Richard Beymer, etc). But I believe Kyle has come around since then, as he and Lynch have almost always been close. And Lynch was right that people had begun to come around about FWWM - now, over a decade after this doc, the film is even more popular.
  5. House Trump is now deep in the hole, and CNN reports it is facing a funding emergency - it can't even scrounge up 100K.
  6. THR unpacks the lengths TWD is going to keep its secret.
  7. Everything about Bernie Sanders is a contradiction. He did toss in a line about himself and Clinton not being very far apart on many issues. But he refuses to concede. I have no idea if he's still going on, literally every network I checked cut away.
  8. Bernie's webcast - which he missed the filibuster for - is just his stump speech. Again. Some more. Oh, and refusing to concede. "To those relatively few elected officials who have the courage to stand with us, I say thank you." God. Well, MSNBC has had enough, they've cut away.
  9. I wondered why political wunderkind Jeff Weaver was trending on Twitter, and now I know why: He just told MSNBC Sanders is still fighting for the nomination.
  10. Vanity Fair suspects it knows Trump's real endgame: Getting back on TV with Trump News. Charles Pierce reacts.
  11. I don't have my iPad in front of me, but the way I remember it she claims there were indeed plans in the offing for Luke to be gay and for his airtime to be ramped up as a result. IIRC, Zimmer said she didn't want his whole life to becoming acting at such a young age and pulled him out. Later, of course, Jake Weary went on to a busy career in a ton of movies and TV (including the great It Follows) and I think he's now playing gay on the TNT adaptation of Animal Kingdom. I believe she claims it had nothing to do with the storyline, though I wouldn't be surprised or hold it against her if, in 2005 or whenever, Kim Zimmer did not want her young son to become a target for bigots in the audience.
  12. Yes, that was when she left the show, John.
  13. No, he didn't. I watched the show everyday. He had an argument with Kelly on a roof over some caper with Blair, flipped a coin and left. Months later Kelly announced Kevin had moved to Texas to be with Duke and she was going with him.
  14. The filibuster was a success - and even had some GOP support. The man who wasn't there? Still Bernie Sanders.
  15. Actually, there's been a fairly decent-sized backlash on Twitter, both from press and regular folks. I think he'll be hearing about it. Every other story out there today is wondering why he won't concede, is he delusional, etc. I honestly think Bernie will end up suspending without an official concession at this point. I don't think his ego can tolerate it. He's unmasked himself as a very sad, small man this season.
  16. Bernie has always been pretty pro-gun. But I'm sure his faithful will come up with some excuse. In the meantime, though, every day since California that he hasn't conceded makes him look worse and worse. His stock is falling by the second.
  17. Worth the spam.
  18. Kim went on about this at length in her book, saying it had nothing to do with the role but more his schooling. She could've been bullshitting, but I don't see her being a homophobe after all her years in the business. I do think it's possible she didn't want a target put on his back for playing the gay kid.
  19. The drama continues with the Trump campaign and the RNC. He's too lazy to do fundraising calls. And yes, Trump is losing the GOP.
  20. I think he's a fine actor, but this sounds messy.
  21. Even Fox News' Gretchen Carlson is rebelling re: gun control. Corbin Reiff trashes Trump re: his comments on soldiers in Iraq.

Sean Pertwee was asked to appear last year - he was unable to because of commitments to Gotham.
  23. Trump has hit 70% negative approval. Also: He says Obama supports ISIS. I think this dude wants out.

The BBC releases new details on Series 10. Among them: Matt Lucas will be returning from the Christmas special, and Frank Cottrell-Boyce ("In the Forest of the Night") and Sarah Dollard ("Face the Raven") are returning to write new episodes. It begins filming next week.
