Black avant-garde writer-director Bill Gunn's direct-to-public television soap opera Personal Problems (written with playwright Ishmael Reed), which I first wrote about long ago, now has been fully restored (albeit still in rough video quality) and is available to watch in two parts for free on streaming courtesy of Kanopy.
You can obtain a free Kanopy subscription and watch ten films or programs per month from their very impressive collection by simply giving it your local library card information (I got a digital library card online from my local one in ten minutes) and watching it on your computer or TV/device via the Kanopy app.

The full sketch, even funnier. Rachel Dratch!!
Kate McKinnon's Lindsey Graham is wild.

This is hilarious and is going to leave a mark:

I would marry Nik Dodani twice on Sundays. Worked on a lame movie he's in that has yet to come out.

I'm sure Jill Phelps would've been willing to give her an audition!
I actually think Bransford was talented - she had the same physicality of Carly that Sarah Brown had, which Tamara hadn't. But JB was simply not suited to be playing that kind of heavy lead on a top soap like GH. JFP clearly got her the gig because she was a pal from OLTL, and it was a mistake from the jump. She could not compete with the GH stars in terms of presence.
Further, according to Kelly Monaco, Bransford actually went full method and hit her in their epic catfight scene (probably her one crowning achievement as Carly, and very evocative of Brown). Kelly was not pleased.

That's a deep cut, man. Well done.

Agreed.

I suppose for all intents and purposes Miles and Corky are just divorced. I can't recall if they broke up offscreen after Grant Shaud left - I know there was trouble in the marriage with him away.
I thought the newscast was surprisingly hilarious, esp the EPA lady falling through the ice. It all just came off much better than I thought. Not genius, but good and cute.

The latest development ain't much, but it's all we got. This week has had more twists and turns than I can take. I also had to get in a fight with a woke white leftist bitching about "Democrats loving the FBI" over this this morning, so there's that.
Meanwhile: If this keeps on for another week there's a fair chance Kav shows up at his next press availability trashed and blaring Winger.

It's a lot less creaky than I thought it would be based on the reviews! But the reviews have also tilted more positive in the last two days. I'm curious to see how it does. I expected low numbers but after this week of hell who fuckin' knows.
Hillary drolly saying she has experience with emails was too funny.
"Right now a Russian hitman could be sneaking plutonium into your next latte!" God bless Grant Shaud.
The EPA bit is great.

This is actually flowing a lot better for me than the Roseanne return pilot. Pretty funny. Miles' exile was a definite cathartic message to all of us.
Nik Dodani is still cute as ever as Pat the tech geek and I wish he were my boyfriend. Critics may find the old vs millennial humor creaky but tbh it plays to the CBS audience and to my mother (Frank asking 'can you make my font bigger?' is way too close to home). I also loved Frank bemoaning only getting a timeshare in Boca out of hitting on women at the March and then stridently hating Nazis.

Rage-inducing? Yes. Surprising in that they're still trying to whip votes? Yes.
Trump has little cachet with Republican members on the fence. George W. Bush has instead been calling some senators to whip votes for Kavanaugh. https://t.co/txBatZRHo2

tbh that's exactly what it was like with Ol' Angry Cry Brett.

Win or lose, this is going to be remembered a long time and they're going to pay. And hell, if we get the Senate why not impeach him?

WA(?) state rep:
So okay, let’s do it. @senatorfain, you raped me the night I graduated from Georgetown in 2007. Then you had the audacity to ask me to support your campaign. I’ve been terrified of running into you since moving home and seeing your name everywhere.

Manchin was a yes previously, so this has me slightly quizzical and hopeful.

I'm with Khan. Dude is a drunk. But you could tell that up front - the irrational rage at being called out matches the story from the 90s about going ape at a dinner with friends after a few drinks.
