I haven't seen the show yet and won't for a few hours, but what a weird trajectory for Sasha to go from a model to a Quartermaine Cook lol.  No one would do that in life ever and she mentioned she liked to cook approx. two weeks ago.  I feel like she's as good as gone once the Cody/Mac reveal finally plays out.

I still think they should have Cody say he and Mac talked about it on Zoom, lol. There is no guarantee poor JJY will be back when planned.

  2. When we need posters to police the daily episodes to make sure people don't enjoy it or watch when they shouldn't like in the Days threads, we'll call. Thanks!

I’ll only agree to Sasah being the Quartermaine cook if we see her onscreen as much as we saw “Cook”…

Same. If she doesn't go this year there's gotta be something behind it. But I think we are nearing a killing floor, starting with Gregory and that damn baby. You're right, the build re: Kristina, Ava, etc. is strong.

But what's happening to SOD?  Diane of soaphub writing for SOD.  All it really says, is that during week of April 29th, Ava visits Nikolas at the prison.  With a bunch of filler words added into that opening sentence.  And then the author rambles on for the rest of the page with specs of scenarios about what they might talk about during her visit.

I noticed that too. Ridiculous. Exactly like these many pointless sites.

We were told that Avery Pohl was let go from the show just to accommodate NAC's vacation.

That is completely untrue. And many clickbait sites like Soaphub are peddling spec and reheated social media discussion and calling it 'gossip', but it's not actual scoops or rumor. There is no actual intel that verifies any of what they suggest as ideas (Esme returning, Rory Gibson as Spencer) have any basis in fact. It's just stuff being posted to get hits.

Esme was dumped because the strike ended, a writing change was coming, NAC was out and the show decided to cut their losses on that entire storyline and character and kill two birds with one stone. It happens like that often.

I am all for the angle of Kristina being though one child in Sonny's corner but her cluelessness to his level of criminality does not work. Her character has been well aware of this for years not to mention the whole mob princess reality show storyline they tried to do back in the day.

Yes, but even then she was his little girl - trading on his infamy and his permissiveness re: the show for fun and monetary gain. She didn't actually care about his being a mobster at that time. Kristina has always been of two minds and somewhat hypocritical/deluded about Sonny IMO, as caroline and I were mentioning earlier.

I’m more convinced than ever after today that Ava is going to cause some harm to Kristina, causing her to miscarry. Kristina is now on a mission to figure out what Ava’s up to. When Nina told her to “be careful”, it felt like some type of foreshadowing.

A lot of people speculated Joss would accidentally cause Kristina to miscarry in a fight (which I wouldn't mind) but I agree, Ava is gonna figure in somehow. Either way that baby is (hopefully!) dogmeat.

Yeah, LA's Kristina was flakey with all the Ethan crap, but I always contrasted her with Michael and she seemed like the "good" girl compared to Michael.  I also thought the show might have been long hauling it with Ethan/Kristina like they did with Robin/Jason and were just waiting till Lexi looked more adult.

I did think Molly was a mini Spinelli, but in the quirky way.  Not exactly in the brains department.  That was just my take.  Honestly, young Haley Pullos/Molly was pretty obnoxious so I could have missed intelligence cues.

I thought Molly was always the brain. I do think they were trying to wait on Ethan and Kristina, as they also did with Nik and Emily IMO (except Amber left and they got to recast). I just never took her as the good girl, YMMV. Now what does she have? That bar of Julian's, lol. Hopefully she can find a real career.

To be honest, I always thought it was a weird flip flop to make Kristina the flaky one when in a lot of ways she was so studious and dedicated to being a lawyer early in Lexi's run.

I don't even remember her being into that lol. I've always seen Kristina as the spoiled little flake/wild child and Molly as the studious one really, particularly with HP. Her love for novels and literature just fed back to that, IMO. I appreciated them discussing her literary romanticization of Jason and Sam at length a few weeks ago - it's been forever since anyone brought that stuff up. Little Molly was basically Mini-Spinelli as a girl in her first couple years.

The whole thing with T.J. and Molly's 'partnership' and largely offscreen relationship is so bizarre. Didn't she randomly cheat on him with Brando? What happened there?

  9. Kristina may be frustratingly blinkered and selectively amnesiac about her father in many ways, but that's in character IMO. She was Daddy's flaky little girl under Lexi's tenure for many years. What matters to me is how much KM is carrying most of her end of that age set. I was impressed they let her mention Ava and Connie - in the same office where Ava murdered the woman.

  10. I couldn't stand Laura supporting Esme, because it was clearly the writers/EP in love with Avery Pohl and desperate to redeem the character. It went on too long. AP is very talented but there was no need for a year-long amnesia tour trying to soften the character with the audience, and yes, it did devalue Trina. I got the distinct sense that if that HW team and Frank could've pulled off pairing Spencer with Amnesia Esme, they would've. I was waiting for those two to sleep together. They clearly teased that romance option and in doing so played into the hands of the racist portion of the audience.

Heather is a more complex case for me - there is history there, it's not about sidelining the interracial pairing and AM is talented as well. It's also a unique story turn I didn't expect. And I feel Laura has been there for Trina. So I'm open to it.

The writers did a terrible job justifying it, but knowing her history I did believe her supporting Esme as far as Ace goes. Not just the Cassadine trying to steal my kid part though. Laura was incredibly troubled as a young woman. She killed two people (Hamilton and whatever the hell woman that Rick Webber story involved), she had serious abandonment issues, she fell in love with her rapist, her issues being raised an Vinning and being Lesley’s daughter, etc. That’s all before she is kidnapped and forced to marry Stavros and have his baby.

I got all that, yeah. I saw the motive. But it still went on far too long and she was far too committed to her. It was the show trying to use Laura (and others) to put Esme over as redeemed, IMO.

I think that position is valid. It's more the show's history (or any soap's history) of heavy airtime after one half of a popular pairing goes compared to Trina's airtime, and also the tone of the writing that I can understand getting a negative response. I also think the decision to repeatedly having her show up to apologize or be in a supporting part while Laura spends a lot of time doing prop duty for lunatic characters we are meant to feel sorry for (Cyrus, Heather) hurts the setup that should have been there with the characters.

I can see that, but that also depends on the actor and isn't always the case when one half of a pairing goes (especially with the FV guarantee merry go round). And I do think Laura and Trina got a pretty fair amount of time together right after Spencer hit the drink (and again today, apparently). But I'm less hard on the Cyrus or Heather stuff because I think these scenes Laura has had with her relations have been surprisingly very good since the writing change - especially Cyrus dropping the man of God nonsense. I'm not going to begrudge what I think is good material.

    Say WHAT, lol?

There's a bunch of people who apparently think Laura's gotta go for being there for Heather. I don't!

  12. I think that was still what Frank tried for after she got paired with Spencer, lol. He was only somewhat successful.

Regardless, Trina's love interest just got written off dramatically and the show is undergoing a writing change. The character is going to be recalibrated and yes, sometimes on less whenever something like that happens. I'm not going to assume the worst just yet. Especially since elements of the fanbase are wildly unrealistic if they expect a) Spencer to be recast immediately or b) Chavez to return ASAP and play out a reunion. Neither is likely to happen any time soon. it also remains to be seen if

    Spoiler

a young man from the Cerullo family apparently appearing at the wedding might be someone for her, or if it's just a random dayplayer.

I wouldn't cry if Nina got written off tomorrow.   I agree that CM/CW might have something there and it's probably the route the show will go.  It's better than her and Valentin, which is where I thought this was going to lead back to.

I wouldn't either really after all these years, but I do think Drew and Nina's crazy pairing and scheming is the most fun thing on the show right now lol. I'm down for more of it. I've turned a corner on worse characters.

And God no, please no more romantic Valentin. With anyone. Let him be the bad guy and go.

I am about to start a Nina fan club because her writing is so awful.

Honestly all it took for me was some sharper, more mischievous writing recently (leaning into Watros' innate comic/campy sense of the character, though Nina has been a spoiled, unstable and hyperdramatic rich girl since Michelle Stafford) and a very hot sex scene with Cameron Mathison. Those two are old soap pros that know their business. But yes, I agree with you, she's had too much stick in the last year or two ever since they were apparently forced to put her with Sonny lol.

I do think Drew is more intrigued by her than he is willing to admit to anyone, starting with himself. It's an old soap staple. He put in a good word for her to Willow the other day for no real reason. Chem test with RoboJordan aside, I suspect Nina is the plan there assuming CM/CW stay on the show..
