Dylan Cash was a cute kid

Ohhh, I wouldn't go that far.

Laura's hottest chemistry on other shows was with Ted King and David Andrew Macdonald, and she was sizzling with Sean Kanan and did good work with Ingo and Roger Howarth. But they'll never put Carly with Lorenzo Alcazar again and it's unlikely to happen with twice-dead A.J. I don't think she's got anti-chemistry, but her options for years have been poor. Of course if it was me I'd just bring back Sarah, as much as I think LW has done a fine job and gives 200% everyday. But that's almost certainly never going to happen.

I do think she had real chemistry with Sean Blakemore, but the show backed off that real quick when they realized Shawn was yes, a dark-skinned Black man.

It's a real leap from Jason wanting to bang Carly to wanting to kill Sonny though.  I can't say I mind the choice in Sonny's case, but it makes me quite weary that we are going all in with Jason/Carly soon.

Has anyone even told Liz her baby daddy is alive?

I honestly don't care if most everyone gets informed offscreen at this point. This is at least Jason's second or third return from the dead if we're not counting NuJason/Drew, which we should. I have watched those reactions many times and I don't need to again. Just bring him on and do what you're gonna do, I say. Which so far they have.

It will be interesting to see if they actually commit to Jason and Carly as I still think Steve and Laura have no romantic chemistry.

I have a hard time believing both Sam and Sonny would be so convinced Jason did this too.  I could see them doubting Jason's motives, but not set on Jason being the one that shot Dante like they are.

I don't think Sam is set on it, but I do think she's a bit too suspicious. Sonny I can live with it because he is in his self-pitying mode, paranoid and has raised the Jason/Carly issue to Lois.

  4. Drew dipped on Carly in record time lmao. All he had to know was that Jason was alive and inside the United States and he hit the meme.

I found their break-up quite rushed but I'm not complaining; anything that ends a lot of the onscreen nonsense is fine by me. I just hope certain elements (Drew and Jordan) are the last vestige of the past team. If they want to say Kristina woke up having miscarried that baby I won't complain either.

I have a very hard time buying certain people being split on Jason shooting Dante. I can't see Sam buying that or many other people who knew Jason well, and Sonny is a struggle unto itself for me but I fanwank that atm by assuming he is paranoid, possibly off his meds and maybe still feeling jealousy re: the Carly situation from a couple years ago (which to their credit they had him address as a factor on Thursday). Nonetheless, I handwave it because the drama makes for something more interesting than everyone in town rallying around St. Jason again. I was also glad to hear Faux!Molly address her old hero worship of Jason and Sam.

On a side note: Nice to see another awkward scene where Willow and Drew are clearly down to fúck. Not the first time!

I can honestly say it was one of the most oddly shot, weirdly staged and uncomfortable looking love scenes I have ever seen on GH.  And that's saying a lot.

I vaguely remember it. I thought it made sense tbh bc that's exactly what would happen in the backseat lol.

GH uses far too many headshots every day, for one thing. By the time the open is over, you cannot remember who was in it. Having the photos keep pace with the music does not work here.

They also use the toddlers and small children and every recurring player. It's ridiculous and screams Ellen Wheeler's Guiding Light.

They surely have enough money to take another shot at Faces of the Heart. How much can it cost?

  7. I also think Maule is often quite sexy in his own way. Yes, he was peak suburban 90s dad but there was more behind the unassuming outward appearance. His talent most of all is what stuns me the more classic material I revisit - such a quiet storm, but also capable of incredible wry humor.  Sarah Brown has also spoken highly of him recently.

After Jackie Zeman passed away, I was hoping they might bring back or at least mention Terry Brock, as she was there through some of the most formative years of what Bobbie became - she was even part of the ceremony when Bobbie married Tony. I wasn't expecting to be reading this about Robyn not even a year later.

I also had no idea she was in Diva or Betty Blue.

I was hoping for the same. Who knows the last time Terry or those other adopted kids were even mentioned? And no, I had no idea she was in Jean-Jacques Beineix's films and I love Diva.

  9. Yeah, Steve vetoing Jason Q is a story older than dirt. It's not news. Do I wish he'd gotten his Q memories back long ago, of course. Doesn't mean Jason Morgan needs to go away but it would alter the character. The issue is Steve doesn't want to play anything complex. He wants to come in, wear the same outfit, shoot guns and go home. It's never going to happen.

I mean look at Drew, the more he is like what this hybrid Jason would be, the more they sideline him. Both with Billy Miller and Ryan Lavery.

I do think BM's Jason/Drew was an evolution of a sort for the character. Miller's faux Jason played the relationships with the Quartermaines, Monica, Jake, etc. differently and tenderly, and that bled over into Drew. The show then tried to compensate when Steve returned by trying to reverse-engineer some of the same bonds with Steve's real Jason (especially with Jake) but they've never really managed to put it over.

I think Drew as a character - a warmer, kinder man with both a background in action like Jason and a head for business and the Q-style intrigue - can and should work. The problem is they have zero investment in Drew with Jason around, as you say. And CM has done little to distinguish himself since shaving the gulag beard. He is basically playing a variation on himself or Ryan Lavery. Would I put Drew back on the shelf and await a charismatic actor for real investment if it was up to me? Sure. But that's in a paradigm where Jason would not be the priority of the two or Drew can get at least real consideration, and that paradigm does not exist IRL. The character has only ever existed as a Jason stand-in. It's too bad.

It seems to have gotten a flat result, if polling is ever accurate, although that's common with SOTU. The flap over the "illegal" comment seemed to distract a lot of people who should have known better.

I'm thinking less about immediate polling (though CNN's after the SOTU was very good for Biden) and more about changing the conversation and thrust of the election, which it did, dramatically.  The illegal thing didn't go far outside of random segments of Twitter, and Biden did walk it back.
