  1. Twin Peaks Season 2 (the scheduling, not the content which is a whole other topic). 'Nuff said.
  2. I like Taggert and would like him to have more of a role in things and play the romantic tension with his ex, but I'd probably bring Justus back from the dead in Witness Protection to shore up the Quartermaines as another patriarch, help restart the Wards, etc. and play Portia with him. It can be Joe Phillips (who I had such a crush on from both GH and Cosby, politics aside and who is only now beginning to barely show his age) or a younger, hotter model who is not Mfundo Morrison, I don't care!
  3. Bye, Esme! Avery Pohl is very talented but they played the character out for a year wasting her on trifles trying to half-ass a redemption arc. Esme is a fine villain and can come and go, she does not need a contract or to be defanged.
  4. No, I agree. I think the media doesn't want to admit that because a) they're bored of Biden/resent Democrats in general, b) most of them are covered re: birth control and don't care about the issue, especially in newsrooms or networks dominated by male department heads, and c) they just can't conceive of any issue sticking with the public longer than one news or election cycle because their own minds don't operate like that. But it's been a couple elections now. It's not going away. And I don't think it's going to go away until something is done.
  5. Every few years since at least 2012 the GOP tries to drum up a new border crisis and the media always carries the water until that line fails at the ballot box. Very little introspection ever follows. The media ecosystem has changed for the worse since '12 and there is more penetration in some segments of the public than before, but I'm not convinced any of it will matter very much in the final calculus come November.
  6. Facebook jokes?
  7. "Centrist" media startup The Messenger, plagued by layoffs and BTS drama for months, has collapsed with almost zero warning to staff and no severance along with the entire website nuked. Thread: A gossipy Puck piece full of commentary from Puck and Axios staff (both as equally vapid as The Messenger) unfolds here (archived to bypass paywall). In more startling news, I did not know that Jeff Zucker, perpetually eager for a comeback, is attempting to buy the Daily Telegraph in the UK with Saudi money which he hotly insists will not bias his coverage.
  8. Exactly. I'd be shocked if they recast Chavez immediately. They're going to wait a bit a la JJ at the very least.
  9. The Carly thing always seems like the chicken and the egg. But honestly it seems both simple to me and slightly more nuanced than people sometimes prefer. Labine's team, it seems, created the character sketch for Carly - long-lost daughter of Bobbie, probably out to make trouble (and possibly the affair with Tony was already on the table, but I have no idea). They intro'ed her onscreen in Labine's last days. But it was Guza and co. who fleshed out Carly and made her what she became. Simple as that.
  10. Not a description you hear often regarding a long-running set.
  11. Jordan has always been shady. She came on shady as a double or triple agent who could not get out of cahoots with the Jeromes no matter what she did while constantly claiming 'deep down, I'm a cop!' It got to be ridiculous. So it wouldn't be a stretch.
  12. That's because, according to the sidebar, she edited her post and this time used a camera manufactured after 1980. Small favors, I suppose.
  13. The Max/Diane horny era nearly broke me.
  14. She is tolerable for me as a recurring lawyer. This unfortunately is not her current role, which has expanded beyond what I can tolerate. She also appears to literally be sapping Tristan Rogers' lifeforce and precious fluids, as I have never seen him seem old and frail until now.
  15. For God's sake. When a thread becomes wall to wall post after post after post by the same blocked user, you (very) occasionally have to look. Donna. Two things. One: Nobody can read what you just photographed. No one. Two: Hunting down a scene from GL is not on topic for this thread. It can easily go to the GL thread. This is not your blog. This is not your house. This is not USENET. Take it to the GL thread, and for God's sake find a phone with a camera if you insist on photographing pages from books.
  16. He did, but they were never going invest in a Black male lead. It's sad, because he did have a spark early on and came on giving interviews saying he wanted to be 'the Black Luke Spencer.' I knew that would never happen. I feel bad for what happened to his passion but I also am very tired of watching him lol. Diane - Diane! - is mad that Scorpio is gloating re: going after Sonny? Gloating is all Diane has done about her work since coming on this show! It's 85% of her scenes!
  17. He has been checked out since he first realized they weren't going to pair him with Hayden or Stafford's Nina in his first couple years, IMO.
  18. At first I thought this Jordan conspiracy story was about the Screen Actors Guild hunting her down for her crimes, but no, it's who shot Curtis or something. Who cares? I enjoy Stephen Smith's viral clips on social media but I am not here for his I Am Sonny Corinthos soap star fantasy which he is clearly living for; he delivers every line like a Quiet Storm radio station. Still, at least he displays some interest, unlike Curtis who continues to approach virtually every scene not with Laura like he is a greeter at Chili's.
  19. You really get a sense of how utterly disinterested Frank has been in the Black canvas since before he and Ron moved to GH when you realize that not only are almost all of the characters related either by blood or marriage, but he keeps staging scenes with a) the worst actor on the show since Oscar and b) a non-actor sportscasting celebrity who just likes to hang out at the show, and still comes away from this material thinking 'yes, let's continue.' Please, Mulcahey, end this. The latest Molly seems like someone in the cast's IRL sibling they just brought in to be nice.
  20. I hesitate to even mention it because it's so disgusting, but the antivaxx 'died suddenly' freaks have already latched onto this simply because Erika is a celebrity.
