  1. For those of y'all who didn't watch (but should!) this is what I mentioned above: He was shook from then on. The NYT:
  2. They've appeared on maybe a stage or two. Not much else that I know of. Trump is of course already equivocating on a second debate, but the Walz/Vance one is scheduled.
  3. Both moderators did well, but Davis was excellent.
  4. I had a feeling it would go well from the beginning when she approached him to shake his hand and introduce herself. I can't remember anyone crossing to him like that before. That was a psychological move and you could see in his slowed down walk that he was rattled by it. They choreographed everything she did tonight beautifully. I had been excited about the debate, then nervous over the last weeks but still excited. But while I had considerable hopes even I didn't think she'd do this well. She demolished him. She beat him so bad Trump went down to the post-debate spin room himself!
  5. Full Swift statement:
  6. And now, the killing blow:
  7. Jonathan Martin was pissed tonight on Twitter, will be even more pissed on TV soon, and I can't wait. And finally, some cope:
  8. Even the Times knows:
  9. Practically flawless.
  10. Focus group:
  11. More of the live Republican reaction: Wow: Harris calling him easily swayed "for the sake of favor, and what you think is a friendship, with a dictator who would eat you for lunch."
  12. You shouldn't! It is a joyous massacre and she has done very well. You should watch it.
  13. She had so many lines in the chamber for tonight. Now it's "weak and wrong on national security." "So many leaders have told me you are a disgrace." She knew exactly how to hurt him and make him lose control. Just genius.
  14. This really is a thing of beauty. She has baited him and knocked him down at every turn. He's rarely been this angry. It's like she planned every line. She even said he was fired by the American people and called him a disgrace. Now he is praising Orban! This has nothing to do with preaching to the choir. Look at Beltway reaction and look at non-libertarian/right wing accounts. There is a reason right wingers are whining that Harris got the answers in advance and that Muir and Davis are in league with Harris. She has prosecuted him perfectly and presented herself very well to undecideds. As for his base, who cares what they think? He doesn't have enough of a base left to win. Case in point:
  15. It's like he's suicidal. He's been yelling for an hour. He just refused again, point blank, to admit he lost to David Muir.
  16. I'm sorry, but this debate is not a win for him at all. It is a catastrophe. He's been on defense and rattled the whole time. He's been fact-checked in real time (and the moderators debunked his cat thing live on TV, while he babbled 'I saw it on television'). She is mocking him and has put him down several times tonight. He is now defending Ashli Babbitt. Nuzzi is somber: He is now hollering about the border and defending J6.
  17. He is not going to last another hour. She got him mad early and he can't handle her mocking his crowds and convictions, or smiling or laughing. She is ripping him up and the moderator (David Muir and Davis) have been doing very well.
  18. This is going a lot better than June. The moderators have been excellent so far. Linsey Davis beautifully called Trump's insane abortion answer (about executing the babies) a lie and threw immediately to Harris. Harris' abortion answer was flawless and she is handling him perfectly on the splitscreen. He lost his cool early and has remained on defense. She even hit him about the rallies in the middle of an immigration answer! This is going very well so far. Her smiles and laughter are driving him insane.
  19. Sure, but which people?
  20. The right wing echo chamber doesn't move new votes though. Otherwise it wouldn't be so close. I would argue the only thing that has had a new impact is the press whining and demanding she answer more questions and claiming she is some unknowable enigma. That can be rectified. But Walz and the convention were unqualified successes. The CNN interview didn't go in one direction or the other AFAIC, though it easily could've.
