^ ^ Agreed. Did he actually go on and on about what the election "should" be about? Excuse you, Mr. Privileged Son of Cuban Immigrants, but you don't get to make that decision.

Good gawd. That is desperate. I think the Republicans have a problem (to put it mildly) not only with The Donald, but his unbelievable poll numbers. In what world does someone say the things he's said and he his poll numbers rise? What does that say about their base? What kind of people would support someone like that? It is great to watch the trainwreck that is the Republican primaries.

Scott Walker is a charismatic son of a bitch. I don't agree with any of his horrible policies, but watching that man speak the other day on TV, I was impressed. He is someone to watch out for.

It's about time. Good riddance. Here's another one that needs to go away. If there were a comparable left-winger spouting the crap that comes out of Coulter's mouth, they would have been silenced already. http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2015/06/23/coulter-calls-nikki-haley-an-immigrant.html I never thought I'd see the day a deep-south Republican governor advocated the removal of this hate flag. :-)

Dude I used to work with asked me today "So, you married yet??". I told him no, but we'd send him an invitation. Then he proceeded to tell me that he wouldn't come because it's not part of his "beliefs" but wanted me to be happy. So I asked if he shopped at Publix. He said yes. I asked him, but they sell liquor and smokes there, isn't that against your beliefs? Or is being around people who smoke and drink OK, but not gay people? Silence. Sometimes I just GRRRRRR- Guiding Light Discussion Thread

Blake was one of my favorite characters. I preferred SS in the role, as I think the writers and the actor both understood the character and wrote to SS's strengths. And she had great chemistry with MG and JvD. LK's take on the character I grew to like. But the edge/grayness of the character faded away with her, again the writing contributed to that. There were a lot of interesting female leads on this show. I think calling it the "Reva Show" had legs in the press, so they went with it.- The Politics Thread
Never heard of him. He's definitely going to have to make a great first impression, he'll be the much lesser-known of the 3 Democrats.- The Politics Thread
Eh. How is this damning to Hilary's campaign? Those laws were enacted over 20 years ago and in hindsight, do not work. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me. They are probably some of the same people that called criticism of Bush during the Iraq "treasonous". History will judge them very harshly. Hopefully.- The Politics Thread
LOL :-) Rubio needs to sit his self-righteous ass down. We have the largest military in the world. We're spending millions on the next gen F fighter jet. And he wants to spend MORE?? it sure as hell does not make the world safer. Did our military might stop the 9/11 attackers? Hell no. Is it going to stop another terrorist attack? Hell no. He's delusional. And I had to lol when he said he wants to protect religious minorities. He meant CHRISTIAN religious minorities. He doesn't give a [!@#$%^&*] about the others.- The Politics Thread
You got that right, DD. Here's another one... https://www.yahoo.com/politics/lindsey-graham-i-am-running-because-the-world-is-119274762516.html If the Republicans would TRY to find someone that isn't pandering to the evangelicals or gun lobby, they might have a chance. They should be begging Nicole Wallace to take a shot at it. If not 2016, then 2020.- The Politics Thread
I read that he thought the question was phrased as: Knowing what we knew then vice Knowing what we know now Which makes no fuckin sense to me at all. No reporter would phrase a hypothetical question like that.- The View
I really like Nicole. TBH, when she started at the beginning of the year, the ® after her name and he fact she was part of GWBs administration was all I could see. I thought she was the token annoying right winger on the panel. I was wrong. And I have a weak spot for Rosie, the actress, that's carrying over to her on this show.- The Politics Thread
Christian "leaders" threaten civil disobedience if Supreme Court legalizes same-sex marriage http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/04/28/will-not-obey-christian-leaders-threaten-civil-disobedience-if-supreme-court/ There's so much wrong with this article, I don't even know where to begin...- The Politics Thread
^ ^ ^ You're absolutely right. How is the media considered "liberal" when it's not uncommon for them to pull a stunt like that. Not to mention how they've treated Hilary.- The Politics Thread

Here in the great state of Florida, Tallahassee is owned by Republicans. It's so sad that they are still unable to pass their agenda, including: Guns in schools and on college campuses, allowing adoption agencies the right to turn away gay couples, limiting which bathrooms transgenders can use. If there's good news in all of this, it's that the Senate is getting more moderate due to the lack of a Democratic voice. It's a pretty good read, not too long: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/fl-senate-conservative-bills-dead-20150423-story.html- The Politics Thread
It's already exhausting. Everyday, these bigots come up with new ways to discriminate and the media report that [!@#$%^&*]. I just want to crawl under a rock until November 2016 at this point.- The Politics Thread
I call bs on these "mistakes". Don't get me wrong, I think they're both horrible. But Rand is playing to the lowest of the Republican base with these, and they will likely get a chuckle out of it, IMO. It's the theory that any press is good press. They meant to do that [!@#$%^&*].- The Politics Thread
It opens up a Pandora's box, Julia. It's genuinely scary. You're absolutely right, there's a big question mark on how far it goes. There's no way these people abandon Walmart. I'm always amazed at how many jacked up beater cars there are in the parking lot with bumper stickers supporting republicans. At this point, I can't help but wonder why the right doesn't see this as discrimination. There's no question, IMO, that any thoughtful person would come to this conclusion. I believe that they are holding on to appear "strong" or "resolute". The right eats that [!@#$%^&*] up like a big ass ham on Easter sunday. Obviously, there are very impressionable minds that are witnessing this train wreck of a policy. It has to be stated, clearly and unequivocally that ones religion does give one the right to discriminate and hate those that don't fit neatly in your little religious box. This is, for me, profoundly sad. Profoundly. I have a brother that supports this law over my right for equality. Why? Allegiance to a political party? Blind faith in a book? Both? It's truly heartbreaking and hopeless. <Nadias theme> no more drama </Nadia's theme>. I probably went a lil overboard there. Sorry yall. - The Politics Thread
