Frankly I am glad she said it. Finally people are talking about Trump's nastiness where they have all been tap dancing around it. I see your point and that is a positive result. It comes down to the way she phrased it, and @Juliajms earlier said it perfectly. The trait (racism, sexism, etc) is deplorable, not necessarily the person. On the flip side, you would think that at some point in the life of someone that was taught to hate based on race, sex or orientation has an epiphany and realizes their false beliefs.

I watched the CBS Evening News tonight. Of course, they brought up the deplorable remark and showed Trump's "outrage". However, they then cut to all the horrible things he's said since declaring his candidacy. They called his ass out. Good to see that. Really, Trump denouncing her remark takes balls. He obviously has no room to talk. I would have rather her not said it at all, but it is what it is.

ICAM. I just saw on the news that she's apologized, although I wish she never said it in the first place. The name calling should stay with the Trumpublicans. Some right wing PAC will roll this out in an ad very soon. She'll never be able to escape it.

That was a fantastic speech. All things that desperately needed to be said, but more importantly was the way she said them. I like HRC, but she tends to come across rehearsed. Overly rehearsed. Not here, though. It was heartfelt, comfortable, genuine. I loved it and agree that it is the single most impressive speech that she's ever made.

I caught that interview live. It was bizarre. And very awkward. Dude came out of the gate with his panties in a bunch over the story banner and it went downhill from there.

Some of my "friends" on FB started saying this same thing over the weekend. I'm basically keeping them around until the election and then I'll boot em. I still can't fathom why anyone would support this man after all he's done and said. Among them evangelicals. Isn't Trump the antithesis of everything Christians strive to be and profess to admire?!? It makes no sense to me.

So this is popping up on my FB feed. I haven't researched to determine the spin on this or any bias involved, but it's troubling regardless of your take of BLM and their impact on the recent violence against the police. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dAu44wVgb58&feature=youtu.be

Good point. There's no way that this race is as close as the polls keep saying it is. Now apparently Trump has pulled ahead of Clinton in FL. In a way, I hope they keep reporting it being close so everyone feels compelled to vote come November.

DD Honestly, I had no idea his supporters were saying such things. I purposely limit my interactions on social media to FB, so I may not have a complete picture of what's happening unless a major media outlet picks up on it. I'm genuinely troubled by what you've posted and will definitely do some reading up on his campaign. The man has some great ideas and his platform on major issues is appealing to me. But IA this behavior is a deal breaker...

If these reports are factual and not exaggerations. Sanders should take a stronger stance to distance himself and his campaign from these "supporters". However, I don't see how the statement released from him is "awful"? Apart from appearing to be lackadaisical with regard to a few troublemakers, exactly how is it awful?

Bernie and Trump supporters are not anywhere near similar IMO. Sure, Bernie's have gotten quite a bit more vocal and (arguably, angry). But they are not flaming racists and intolerant assholes. It is a little frustrating watching Bernie win primaries and caucuses only to still be trailing Hillary because of the DNC's silly "Super Delegates". WTF does that even mean? How does one become one and what makes their support any more important than any other delegate? Like it or not, there is a substantial, sustained populous movement for Mr. Sanders. Does that make me like Hillary any less? No. It makes me like the DNC less lol.

I think she just wants this so much that she's really afraid of putting a step out of place so she overdoes the prep. I'm really curious about who she really is behind closed doors. I've heard so many conflicting stories. I remember years ago when she cried in public and some people acted like that was a terrible faux pas, so I'm sure she's holding herself on a tight leash. See, I LOVED when she had that moment of vulnerability. Loved it. And I'm with you, I'd like to see the unfiltered Hillary. She really suffers by comparison when her opponent is such an effortless, charismatic speaker like Obama in 2008 and to a lesser extent, Sanders this year. Say what you will about his supporters (full disclosure I pulled the handle for him), the Bern gives a damn good speech. I wish some of our right wing posters were still around. It would be interesting to get their take on the republican race and potential contested convention. Sigh.

The media has given up any pretense of appearing unbiased when it comes to Hillary. I like Hillary. Always have. But there something...insincere about the way she comes across when talking about the issues. She's just SO rehearsed. I get the feeling that everything that comes outta her mouth has been coached to the nth degree.

It's still amazing to me how Trump is the GOP front-runner. The media's take on his "being an outsider" is not the only driving factor here, as he is getting the majority of votes in the primaries. Have evangelicals embraced him? Why? How? I just can't get my head around it to save my life. I can say, if Trump was running on the Democratic ticket, I would be voting "R"s down the ballot.

There's definitely some truth to that. I don't think that they've given him a free pass by any stretch, but they have provided a lot of free press to the man. That being said, the media are not casting votes for The Donald and they haven't convinced me to vote for him. Election Day in Florida...

Take this with a grain of salt, but looks like there's a new poll showing Rubio now in 3rd place in my great state of FL. Let me tell y'all, the man and his PAC have been running ads out the ass for the last two weeks. Every news program leads with where he has gone begging for votes. He's desperate. Rubio has done exactly NOTHING for FL since they elected him a few years ago. NOTHING. And now he comes sniffing around for votes. Typical. As much as I can't stand Trump, I hope he wins handily tomorrow. I'm really torn between Bernie and HRC. I always thought that I'd be voting for her, but Bernie has really captured my attention and imagination. We'll see what happens tomorrow afternoon, cuz this will be a game time decision for me for sure.

It's taken me quite a long time to come around to the fact and admit that I am atheist. Why? I was raised in a Congregational church since I was in preschool, then voluntarily went to a Southern Baptist church as a teenager in an attempt to be "saved from the gay demon". I was naive, brought up in small town North Florida/South Georgia. Anyway, I thought this article was interesting. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2016/02/02/meet-the-atheist-who-quizzes-presidential-candidates-about-their-faith/ I can't stand Marco, but at least he's willing to discuss atheism apparently without prejudice (shocker). I wasn't surprised at all by Bernie's reported reaction and the man is winning me over a little more each day.

That's fuckin scary. My bible thumping brother put something on FB the other day that people "from both parties" are tired of Washington insiders, thus the reason for Trumps popularity. I had to comment, there are no self respecting Dems supporting this bigot, thankyaverymuch Its funny how the right is trying to drag the left into their train wreck

I'm thrilled for Canada! Didn't he run on a very liberal agenda? That's the part that surprised me just a lil bit. But hell, they were probably tired of the right wing bullshit they put with before this election. I hope it rubs off on us next year.

The latest poll has that fool Trump pulling 30%!! I'm amazed. If there were a similar candidate running for the Dem nomination, they would be dead last. There are stories of people chanting "white power" at his appearances! I don't get it. The thought of a true political outsider being the next president is interesting and even attractive. But Trump is not the one.
