Who is the Soap Actor Guest Starring in This Show?
The first one looks like Joanne Linville, who I mainly recognize from Star Trek. 🥹

All: The Quiet Ones
I'm less than halfway through the available episodes of "The Doctors" but I think I would add Jim Pritchett, at least up to what I've seen of his Matt Powers so far. Even when Matt got angry or frustrated, there was a level of restraint and dignity. I mean, I guess it came with the character; had he been playing Nick Bellini, he might have been the bombastic one.

ALL: Popular Actors playing Unpopular Characters
Few more... Beth Ehlers as Taylor on AMC Gerald Gordon as Dr. Mark Dante on GH. I didn't see his first stint and barely remember his second stint. It probably didn't help it came in the early 80s, during the period where most people were hooked because of Luke, Laura, and the storylines that immediately followed. (At that point, I'd only ever heard about Dr. Nick Bellini and The Doctors from my mom so I experienced him reverse-aging, seeing him first older on GH.) But seeing him younger in such a dynamic role where he had chemistry, charisma and such a natural ease with the character was an eye-opener. What about Kale Browne on OLTL? I know there was a lot of hate towards the Sam Rappaport character...whether because he was a FOJ, a spoiler for Bo & Nora or both...

ALL: Popular Actors playing Unpopular Characters
On GH, Tony Geary's return to GH as Bill Eckert was pretty unpopular, mostly due to people wanting him to have returned as Luke. It also didn't help that Bill wasn't a likeable character; he was a jerk. Bill was sacrificed when Luke (and Laura) came back to town but at least went out a hero. Mary Beth Evans was hugely popular on DOOL as Kayla but I don't think her Katherine character on GH was particularly popular. She started out as a villain alongside Damien Smith, had an ongoing jealousy feud with Lucy, a boring relationship with Mac, and GH tried to recreate MBE and Stephen Nichols' chemistry on DOOL by pairing Katherine and Stefan. Sharon Gabet was on fire on EON but my vague recollection, and Gabet's own words, is that her character, Brittany, on AW sucked. I don't think her time as Melinda Cramer, on OLTL was all that much better. The biggest thing I remember about her is having her turn, after Dorian and Cassie, in a fling with Jon Russell.

It's beautiful isn't it? I fell so in love with that performance at the time I promptly went and bought the Revelations by Alvin Ailey cd just for that song.

The first time I heard of Judith Jamison was when she got the Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. I saved the video because I thought it was so beautiful. The AA dancers performed to Rocka My Soul and it's been on my playlist ever since. R.I.P.

ALL: Fake Funerals
GH Did Luke have a fake funeral in the early 80s he was first involved with Holly? He was presumed killed in an avalanche but was injured and being held by DVX agents (their version of the KGB). That's when the whole Robert & Holly relationship began because she was going to be deported so Robert married her. Also, if someone remembers better than I...was there a fake funeral for Laura in the 90s when she and Luke were trying to protect Lesley from the Cassadines? I seem to recall a story about them faking Laura's death and then Laura shocking Amy and everyone else at the hospital when she burst in in desperation for them to help her mother and everybody realized that both Laura and Lesley were alive.

RIP: In Memoriam Thread
Oh, wow, this stunned me. I'm mostly familiar with his various appearances in the Star Trek franchise. The DS9 episode, "The Visitor", where he plays an adult Jake Sisko, is one of the most highly regarded of the series. And in other episodes where he's under tons of makeup and prosthetics, that voice was unmistakeable.

Soap Vet Nicholas Pryor Dies
He really was one of those great, dependable character actors that was good in any medium and not niched...film, soaps, prime time, etc. Very enjoyable to watch. Actually, John Noble's character on Fringe, Walter Bishop, reminded me a lot of Victor Collins.

Soap Vet Nicholas Pryor Dies
Thanks! It's been so long I forgot that his character didn't originate on PC where I mostly identified him.

Soap Vet Nicholas Pryor Dies
I didn't think he did but some articles on his death are referencing GH so it made me wonder.

Soap Vet Nicholas Pryor Dies
He was such a familiar face throughout film and tv but I especially loved him as the eccentric Victor on Port Charles. I'm curious, as I haven't watched GH for over 20 years, how often/long did he show up there after PC's cancellation?

ALL: Producers/writers favorite performers.
I don't recall producers but I used to wonder who at ABC had a huge thing for Thorsten Kaye, being ubiquitous on OLTL, PC and AMC.
