What does FAST model stand for? Google is giving all types of results. YouTube has a built in method for dealing with music rights. Copyright holders can upload their works and YouTube automatically scans new uploads for it to get a match. If there is a match, YouTube implements whatever the copyright holder wants to do. It could be that they allow the song to be played but take a cut of the ad revenue (it seems to be what B&B does), or that the video is allowed to be uploaded but must be muted (worldwide or certain countries), or that the video is blocked entirely (worldwide or just certain countries). If another streaming service picked up soaps they'd have to create their own system to ensure proper use of the music rights. It's much easier on a large platform like YouTube, but then the rub is that they're only collecting ad revenue and can't charge a subscription or per episode fee (which is great for us viewers since we get the content free!).

Yes! I'd also like to see the debut of Col. Douglas Austin. In the recaps some references were made to him and Victor having served together, and I've never seen Victor otherwise mentioning any military service. I'd like to see how that was explained. And the duel! Imagine how they wrote the stage directions for that! Haha.

Hah, I posted this ep last year courtesy of a friend who wants to stay anonymous. We had been talking about the clips in the Vault and I'd been reading along with SOD. I was telling him that I'd read about this scene and was disappointed that the clip poster skipped over this, and it turned out he still had this ep from 1985 on VHS and sent it to me!

Ah, you did say that it was only the first page. I should have read more carefully. That's a great idea for determining air dates and hopefully when you key into those you can get the full scripts.

All of your choices are amazing, and I bet this one has KILLER dialogue! Another good era to look into would be when Kay is on the island with Felipe. We know hardly anything about that.

That's awesome. Did you have to go there to see them? I always wondered about it but I think you have to be a student? I remember seeing some scripts from the Kay lesbian era and the notes as well as the stage directions do add a lot of context. It does read like a short story sometimes.

Thanks! So I had the month correct then. Just wondering, do you ever plan to finish 1985 on the Soaps of Yesterday Blog? I was using your site to figure out the correct dates for the Soap Opera Digest 80s recaps because they add a lot more detail (sometimes practically recounting the dialogue in a scene). I did that for 1975-1984 so far. And of course once I get to 1986 it will be easy cause there are daily recaps. Just need to finish 1985. No rush, since I'm very busy right now and won't even be able to look at it til May or June, but do know that I still check your site for updates all the time, it was an excellent resource! Super excited for this 1982 ep, unbelievable

I keep wondering why we don't see flashes of anger from Ashland. RN is more than capable. I thought he'd react more strongly to Nate. I'm wondering if RN has been given direction not to show his cards, because the writers haven't decided yet if Ashland is really faking or not. The other possibility is he's supposed to be an Ian Ward-style sociopath who believes what he's saying, but the writing isn't that sophisticated (and it was hardly sophisticated then!).

How is Nate Ashland's doctor and didn't know until today he never had chemotherapy? What even is this show.

I actually did save the bigger versions so I can upload those again, I'll leave it up to @ChickenNuggetz92if the videos uploaded should be big or small since it's his vault and he has to make decisions about the space. Personally I liked the bigger ones but still good either way.

Dude. You were the one complaining that the videos were not coming fast enough. You could have waited until @rsclassicfanforever uploaded them in the quality you like. They are very reliable but they are entitled to have things going on in their life. @anon4520graciously uploaded the episodes. Then you complained the file size is too big and it takes too long to convert. Then @anon4520came back and converted them all and reuploaded them in a smaller size. Now you complain that the quality is not good enough! Just stop, please. Just because you write "I am not complaining, but...." doesn't mean you aren't complaining. This is very unfair to the uploaders. People use their own money to buy VPNs, videoland subscriptions and their time to record, encode, and upload videos. I could not blame @anon4520if they never wanted to volunteer again after this. I have always been patient because I know we have such an awesome community here and someone ALWAYS comes through with the episodes, we have not missed one yet. Who cares if we have to wait, they are 30 years old, lol. If you want to get perfect quality videos uploaded quickly then maybe you should consider getting an account and recording your own and uploading them?

When I saw Nikki in the red dress I got excited thinking maybe it was Nikki and Victor s first scene but then victor was talking about buying the Bayou so that clearly already happened. I hope that the person will start focusing more on those characters and Kay. I guess at the time the Brooks seemed so much more important! Is anyone in touch with the uploader? Someone should invite him here or get his email in case YouTube deletes him.

Check out Yandex Translate. It's a very good site and much better than google translate. You can take screenshots of text and it will translate it for you, no typing https://translate.yandex.com/ocr Here for example, I took a screenshot of an Arabic subtitled Y&R video and it translated the text for me in a second. They also have a text to speech function. https://translate.yandex.com/ For videos in English, choose English for the first language (the second language doesn't matter) and then hit the microphone button in the lower corner and play the clip. It will transcribe it for you.
