I always thought that they should do an eating disorder storywith her. Not as a comment on her body type, but it would be interesting to see a storyline play out with an adult instead of a teenager, and to focus on the inherent control issues of the disorder. She would rock that. See, I watch those Peapack clips and I think at least they went outside once in a while and the "sets" were nice and big (since they were actual places). I'm feeling him with Jill, Lauren, or, believe it or not, Nina. I don't see Nina with the character Ashland but I could see Tricia Cast and Robert Newman working well together.

What exactly did she say? I haven't read her book. I heard it was something about an affair or sexual harassment. She can't get sued because in order to sue for defamation, you have to prove financial damage to your reputation and you generally cannot do that when the person being defamed is dead. She wrote the book when Bill Bell was long dead.

You're welcome but the credit should go to the person who sent me the episodes, who wants to stay anonymous. I have had a few people see my email address in the vault and contact me with things to add, which is super nice There is another person too who reached out with more CALA episodes (they are not dated so I need to figure out what they are and if they are duplicates). Yes, there will be quite a bit of early 2005. This person sent me DVDs in the mail, so it takes time to upload them because I have to rip them one by one (I have stopped editing out the commercials now, to save time otherwise I will be even slower). I am doing it gradually. I can see from the labels on the DVDs that there's a bunch of January 2005 episodes. Ugh, I think I will stop adding the episode numbers then. I seem to always mess them up, and renaming things wastes space in the vault. Please continue to point out the inaccuracies though, so I can correct them.

There were some really brief scenes in the 80s clips hinting at Brad's past. In one scene he told Traci he was inviting his parents to the wedding, but then hid the invitation in his office drawer. Lauren found it, but it didn't amount to anything. Then there was a scene where he met up with his mother (played by Marilyn Alex who later portrayed Molly Carter) and talked about how the family was poor and he was sending money for his siblings. Bill Bell never picked up any of those threads, but I wonder what he eventually had in mind for Brad.

@Paul Raven Wow! I've never seen a photo of them! Maybe on an old SOD scan but not in color. May I ask where you found this?

So when Mariah finds out they're giving Devon custody after they banished her she'll just forgive them all, right?

I am very grateful you shared them. Even when a long time goes by I don't worry because I know eventually someone will upload them. We have a great group! I actually have more stuff to share that people have sent me for the Vault, just been a little busy lately. I've been working on the episodes from 2004 and someone actually sent me a bunch of the missing Cala Classics episodes 1994-1995 I just need to figure out the dates and upload them. Life gets in the way sometimes for all of us.

Douglas was a writer. Leanna stole his notes for his biography of Victor which she used as research for Ruthless. There were also other throwaway lines sometimes about "his new book." I love how Douglas was always trying to get money or free food from Victor. Definitely a mooch without stable income. This was one of Bill Bell's "the inequity of poverty/the dignity of work" storylines. Marian was a working class character. Victor was mooning over Nikki at the time. I liked this storyline. There is a very funny line when Victor says he wil be Vernon Nelson and Douglas quips "that will explain the monogrammed hankerchief." We get to see Victor in a variety of new situations. I think at one point he runs into an employee he'd fired at the unemployment office. Even if this storyline was just to bridge the time until Victor and Nikki finally got together, it enriched the character. Victor came from poverty and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. (Though this may have been before we knew about the orphanage?) We later see that on the farm with Hope in 1993 and even in 2012 when Victor has amnesia and ends up a dock worker and tries to get the workers to unionize. This must be the beginning of the storyline about Tim sexually harassing an ex-student. In Fenruary 1984, Traci is upset because Jack has Tim investigated (a theme that will return when Jack has Brad investigated). She goes to confront his former student Beverly, who had claimed Tim had sexually propositioned her, but she admits that she made it up. There was a brief scene of the confrontation on the vault. Don't remember if it was in clips or a full episode. I don't remember if Tim had actually slept with the student or not. Of course today this would be seen differently, as any relationship would be considered improper, even if the student hadn't been coerced. The more I learn about and see the old stories the more I'm convinced Bell was right that you could redo them today with light updating. In my mind, Lynn ran off into the sunet with Michael's secretary Marissa, haha.

It was so funny when Nick asked how they got tickets that were expensive and hard to get. Nick is literally a billionaire. When Tessa said she was going to play retro music I was kind of hoping it would be that Hootie & The Blowfish song that always played during Nick and Sharon scenes at Crimson Lights.

I had only noticed two episodes from Amy with songs muted, which I already requested and @rsclassicfanforever already redid those, so that shouldn't be an issue. My concern is that someone on the other thread mentioned the YouTube versions have scenes cut. I haven't watched them so I don't know to what extent that is the case. Probably best to preserve both versions if we can.

I don't disagree with you. I've always thought that storyline was bad writing in terms of the overall decision, but well-written as a storyline. It was entertaining and suspenseful. I wanted to know what happened next (even though it was a stupid idea). I feel the same way about Cassie and John's deaths. Bad choices but well executed stories. While I was definitely against the idea of making Jill & Kay mother and daughter, it did make SOME sense in the soap way. I remember when I read around that time in one of the magazines that Jill actually had been married to Brock, but the marriage was never consummated, and thinking wow. I'm not saying that Bill Bell had that in mind, but it was interesting to know that, like an Easter egg from the past that somehow kept this mother/daughter storyline open as a possibility. The other thing was why did these two keep getting pulled towards each other for all these years despite being such bitter rivals? It made sense that it was Derek, then Phillip III, then fighting against Nina, then Rex, but by the mid-90s most of those ties were not that strong. And yet, when Keith Dennison dumps Jill, Kay for some strange reason asks her to move in, and even more strangely Jill agrees despite having plenty of money. Of course it was a setup for Jill to find the will and take over the mansion, but still, it felt like one of those little hints along the way that maybe there was something more to the relationship (either a lesbian attraction on Kay's part or long lost child, lol). The retcon would have been decent if not for it being mixed up in all of that Cane pretending to be Phillip and Phillip returning from the dead nonsense (all so that Nina could seen over Zoom "in Australia while visiting Phillip" except he is always in the other room!). I thought the Marge redux was stupid at the time but now I think of it as one of the last good Y&R stories. Kathering being poor and falling in love with Murphy, remembering who she was and fighting to take back her place in GC. The DNA test showing she's not Jill's mother and therefore apparently not Katherine, and Jill thinking she's a scammer until they finally realize Kay's DNA matches Brock's and it's Jill who is not related, and Jill lashing out in jealousy, saying that Kay always treated Nikki as her daughter. And at that very moment Mac coming home as Billy was marrying Chloe and realizing they weren't related (and with decent actors in all these roles at the time). That was good soap stuff in hindsight. Lauren and Jill being sisters is still the case but seems to have been completely forgotten about to the point that Lauren wasn't even invited to Chance's wedding despite being Jill's only family in town.

Yes. I'm actually enjoying it not in an ironic way. I'm sitting there like I hope Taylor says she can come! Yes! Looking forward to the Christmas ep.
