  1. It's easier said than done, depending on what your politics are and if they always linger on the back of your mind when you're watching an actor whose beliefs conflict with you own. For some, supporting an administration and a political ideology that they view as cancerous to the integrity of the nation is hard to overcome in someone, despite talent or that person playing a fictional character. That said, I don't think politics cost Brown an Emmy - if that was the case, I don't think she would have been nominated in the first place and the Academy has awarded some with similar politics in the past. For whatever reason, GH actors submitted well in the Support categories this year, or had reels that were easier to digest for the voting panel. Kimberlin has also never faired well with this particular award show. This was only her second nomination and her last was almost 30 years ago during her first stint on Y&R! She lost that year to Ellen Parker of GL, so competition was stiff and she likely didn't have a chance that year either.
  2. A lot of it is politics too, and I know Mishael is also very beloved by that cast and crew. In fact, I love that she took the time to include the production crew in her speech and a special callout to longtime Y&R makeup artist Patti Denney (who I believe Eileen Davidson also called out when she won for Y&R a few years back).
  3. I haven't found it on YouTube yet, but Mishael's speech after she won the Emmy:

  5. Victoria Rowell is proud of Mishael for winning! https://www.instagram.com/p/CfNnE1-O-Qa/?igshid=NmZiMzY2Mjc=
  6. Uh, Frank Valentini is so cringe.
  7. Josh Griffith isn’t wearing that mask to cover up his lack of talent, right?
  8. She won in Supporting and tied with Nancy Lee Grahn that year (1989).
  9. Drew Barrymore overacting like in most of her film roles…
  10. Again with the f.ucking Michael Bolton?
  11. But I thought Watros was robbed honestly, but she’s the only saving grace for that crap character anyway.
  12. Wow, good for Mishael even if Amanda is not a true display of her talents. The first Black actress to win in this csregory too.
  13. I thought for a min that could have been her son, but idk. He’s cute though.
  14. He must be having a hard time recruiting a new pool boy at the ceremony.
  15. Really this younger category is so useless, but good for Nicholas Chavez, I guess.
  16. Someone managed to get Jennifer Anniston away from her Aveeno commercials for 5 minutes to do this taped segment.
  17. This Maury and Ellen segment is a total waste of time.
  18. Michael Bolton? Is this 1990?
  19. That’s the weird thing about including shows on streaming in these categories. Robin’s show is a Disney+ show, but most probably have no idea it exists.
  20. Tamron Hall is way too classy for this bargain basement production.
