Mitt is already getting the McCain treatment by some of us on the left. They are saying that it took guts to do that, he would've been a good president, he's one of the last true members of the "real" GOP, etc. Donald and Don Jr. have already went on the offensive on Mitt.

Even some of the people that loved the Prospect Parks soaps, probably at  least at some point, heavily criticized the original recipe versions of AMC and OLTL. I remember those shows, (especially some of the writers from them) getting heavily bashed during their last years, before the reboots.

 

 

Jamey also championed some actors and actresses that some soap fans hated on a personal level for arbitrary reasons.. 

I haven't what much of the impeachment hearings, but I see that my local Fox channel isn't showing the hearings.

Oh, the country's going down the toilet, regardless of whether Bernie ends up as the nominee.  As I've said, I believe Trump will be re-elected, and that there's no way the nation as it is will survive.  Just as the Founding Fathers eventually realized that remaining loyal to the British crown was no longer an option, and Abraham Lincoln realized the nation would never survive so long as slavery was allowed to continue in the southern states, I believe we're on the verge of a moment in our history when certain states will realize that the gap between right and left is too wide ever to be bridged, particularly when there's a (Republican) party in power that courts corruption, foreign meddling and a flagrant disrespect for the constitution that many have been sworn to uphold.

I doubt there will be a succession of states to split from the USA. All Fox News and the rest far right media with some help of the MSM like the NYT with paint those states and the Democrats as being sore losers and they will cave. Fox News  and conservative talk radio whether you like it or not control the narrative in this country. If they say 2+2=5, then 2+2=5, no matter what the facts are.

The GOP has successful created a reality in which they can do anything they want to do and they will always have 45%-55% of Americans there side no matter what. They control 75% of the branches of the government,  all of the government agencies, most of the media, and all of big business. 

I told a cousin of mine last night that Trump has no intention of ever leaving office if he's re-elected and there will be Trump dynasty. He will either run for re-election until he dies for  by repealing the amendment that abolished term limits (The GOP will probably have  control of 3/4 of the 50 states to do this).. If Trump can't change the term limits, he will just name one of his children as his successor (probably Ivanka) and they will be elected President. The Presidency will be passed down from Trump to Trump for at least the rest of the century. My cousin didn't believe this and he said there will come a time when enough is enough. I said it's been past way time for that because Trump keeps getting away with stuff just like  Bush did and for his misdeeds. 

And so the cover up begins. It's not that I expected Trump to be removed anyway but the depths that GOP will go to exonerated this bastard has no bottom.

Stories like these are basically the Kavanaugh Hearing 2.0 - so-called moderate Republicans will express fatuous concern for the situation and then will, of course, do nothing.

Why is there a need to have Sonny, Carly, Jason, and the Corinthos clan involved in every story line on the show.

I don't know why I thought she passed away in the early 2000s instead of 1998. I watched  my share of Family Matters and the TGIF shows when they aired. 

I like her. For some reason, I thought she would be more successful than she is.

The MAGAts on Twitter are claiming they heard more cheers than boos, they didn't hear any boos at all, or the fake news media dubbed the boos in (the conservative media often dubs out any boos or jeers that Trump gets). I read that Meghan McCain dismissed the booing at the World Series as a bunch of Washington elites and I can imagine she will say something similar about this round of booing. 

 The effort Fox & Friends puts forth to preserve their precious leader.

When I used to watch the show, I noticed that these particular "Lane" fans have always been bitter and vitriolic toward Lily (and at times, the actress) at those time when "Lane" didn't go according to plan (i.e. Lily, half-naked, wanting nothing more to seduce her husband Cane, on the couch in the middle of the day, everyday).  That is why the racist dog whistles were so ear-deafeningly shrill when the show dared to try to pair Lily and Tyler (even though the chemistry was visible to anyone with eyes) and why some could barely restrain their ire when Lily took off with Joe (although some women seemed to be gravitating to a possible pairing...and you know who ) and many "Lane" fans all but blamed Lily for Cane cheating on her, that she had the nerve to waver about forgiving him and still refused to believe that Cane got a woman pregnant.  Like, honestly, these people thought that Con-Man Cane was the best Lily Winters could do??

 

The whole thing was just weird and toxic, which is why so many of us had wanted this pairing off the show for years--their fans are toxic.  It got so bad that even CK couldn't stand it anymore.  Even though I stopped watching over a year ago, I really hope Cane never makes it back onto the canvas of Y&R.  Some of these fanbases have been corroding the show, courting them really hasn't worked to the show's favor.

I got the impression from some Lane fans that it was justified to Lily to just be paired with Cane or any white man was because CK is biracial  who dated/married only white men real life.  I used to partially blame CK for giving them that impression but she had more chemistry and energy with Tyler than anybody else she's been paired with. Lily was a woman in her 20s who was made infertile  and saddled with late teens children who looked like her younger siblings.

Good riddance to DG who wore out his welcome years ago for me.

It shouldn't have been an issue between him and Budig considering he didn't end up being with her anyway. It was going to be a problem with taller actresses. Bethany Joy Lenz (Haley from One Tree Hill) was cast as Michelle when Budig left and St. Albans was the next Michelle when Lenz left. Michelle wasn't Lenz first role  on GL.

The next Michelle was Rebecca Budig, who is 5'1. How tall is he too be considered to be short for her??!  I looked it up and  he's 5'4. I guess I  that could've been an issue.
