  1. I don't think he was actually fired by Days just dropped to recurring and he chose to leave. What ever happened to Gwen? She was Marlena's roomate during the Strangler stuff and I don't remember anything that happened after. I actually think Jed Allan had great chemistry with Suzanne. It was probably her best pairing. Which is blasphemous to say, but her and Mickey always bored me to tears.
  2. DH's current wardrobe is atrocious with the plaid and ugly jackets, but SSH looks she's late for a canasta game at the community center. I honestly had no idea DH and SSH were near the same age. It makes it more clear they aged Julie way too early. They always were two different generations to me. It's weird because I know Don did stuff after he divorced Marlena, but I can't remember any of it. Besides his romance with Maggie. It's weird he was onscreen for a decade and all I can remember about him is that he was married to Marlena and his son died. C.C. Capwell was certainly the best thing that happened to him.
  3. I would totally be okay with Lauren Boles taking over Ciara today. I liked Nathan. He was bland but okay and I hope Melissa found a guy that actually liked her lol. I think they should recast and bring back Jeremy Horton as well. I NEED Johnny to be cast and bring Sami hell. She still talks about Marlena's affair. I need a child to call her out. It's so bizarre to me that Carrie was everything in the 90's and is so forgotten. I loved her and her really bad hair. There are just so many possibilities. It's like Days wants to make things happen and push people on us then completely drop them. I guess it's head writing changes but it's weird..
  4. Carrie should absolutely be the lead. I would say Belle, but she's so vanilla. She is Carrie without the charisma. John/Marlena's daughter should not be so lame. And Sami/Carrie's rivalry is still very viable. I like Gabi a lot. I think CB is really good and not utilized correctly. MM's Abby is a bore, but where is Stephanie? Chelsea? Melanie? Noelle? Sydney? Johnny? Unknown Carrie/Austin kid? Andrew? Justin/Adrienne's 5 kids? Where is POCKET? lol There is just a lot of material and very little follow through. very good and so likeable. Beautiful, but very grounded and charismatic with good rapport with her co stars. Which isn't easy
  5. Noelle would be great to add to the canvas because she's not related to half the town, but still a legacy character. So you don't end up with a Claire, who is literally related to everyone. I have said this before, but I feel like Deidre basically just said screw it after the Possession. She's still good in the Affair story, but it takes a turn from Maison Blanche on lol. I just think the DH's just do what they do with the kidnappings and life threatening stuff that happens twice a year. But I do think the show needs younger characters because John/Marlena still lead and that's disconcerting when I don't see an heir to the throne. Unless Ali wants to come back full time. Didn't Bo just win as a write in? Or, no, John "won" lol. And then it was retconned.
  6. Idk, I did get the sense Don really loved her. Moreso, after they divorced. It was clear he did value her. Not in the same way Roman or John did, but they never were very compatible to begin with. But honestly, I never took Don/Julie very seriously, so i had no investment. Well Deidre made sure she didn't age for years. The woman has an excellent plastic surgeon. She was forty for like 20 years. Plus she had younger love interests and was moved into being Hope/Kayla/Kim's contemporaries even if she really wasn't.
  7. I was shocked at how good Deidre was in the rape and Strangler stories. She is so free of her current histrionics. She is just very good. She even makes lame Josh seem okay. And she's kind of good snarking at the lame Mary recast. I would say Don/Marlena at Kellam's will reading/trial whatever where she admits Kellam rapes her is one of her best scenes ever. Noelle is so needed. We find out she is scandalous and slept with Rex and we don't even get to meet her? Fail...
  8. I mean good for Don lol? They were cute for a minute, but he was mostly a sexist jerk, so a young, hot thing like Marlena could have done a lot better.
  9. Trista was lame, but poor Eugene. Marlena's parents raised Eric/Sami so there's that contribution. I actually would like to know what Marlena's parents thought about 2 Romans, numerous kidnappings/fake deaths, and devil possession. They must have asked what they did to deserve it all lol Deidre is really good in the Kellam story even though the material sucks. I can see how she shifted to a lead pretty easily. I think WN/Roman and the Strangler story really just solidifies it all. Even if she isn't the greatest actress she's a very likable lead. I actually wish they would have brought Liz back in the 90's..
  10. Haha Fritz Coleman. Is he still around? I like him lol.
  11. I am surprised Don and Marlena ever got married. Don kind of sucks. Marlena could have done better lol. I did always think Marlena/Don ended abruptly. I assume they were going to get back together at some point. But Marlena was hanging out with Josh Fallon way too much and then Roman appeared. Very true about Marlena/Sam being not different enough. Once Sam became 'good' there really wasn't a difference. I just thought it might have been interesting to see Sam progress throughout the years. And it would have been nice to give Marlena blood family outside of her kids.
  12. Didn't Sam need a kidney or something too lol? And just randomly date day players? I think I would have just left it open for Deidre to do a double roll. From what I have seen of Andrea, she isn't an actress and comes off incredibly cold. But I guess it was such a pivotal moment in Days history it's fine, but I wonder if PFS would have done things differently in hindsight, knowing DH would become the leading actress on Days for 40 more years. Who knows? I can't even remember the last time Marlena mentioned having a twin or her marriage to Don lol I always thought the protest was serious and real lol
  13. I was going to say wasn't Sam on drugs as well lol? Anyway, they really didn't play the fallout between Sam/Marlena or Sam's psychological issues enough. I know it was drugs influencing her, but that's some crazy scheme she pulled. A year later wasn't Sam living her best life as a successful actress? I have often thought it was short-sighted to kill Sam off so early in Marlena's run. I think the Strangler story is really good, but think of all the stories Sam could have been involved with over the years. And Marlena never got any other family aside from a cousin that got killed off as well. Idk, seems like a waste of potential.
  14. Agreed. I liked them at first. I thought it was a great revenge plot by Kristen and ED and EM had good chemistry. SH and EM don't really have much chemistry and they don't make sense as a couple or a love story. Kristen should be a villian, plotting revenge against John/Marlena for all eternity, not whining about a kid she knew when he was a toddler. Brady is no prize, but there are better options for him.
  15. I am glad I am not the only one who has huge issues with the Sam/Marlena switch. They are obviously twins, but you can literally tell them apart. The whole story is just implausible. I get it was cool because Deidre had a twin IRL, but c'mon, I doubt Sam could have pulled off such an elaborate scheme. It made everyone, especially Don, look ridiculous. Sam and Marlena were fine by the time Sam died. They had long since reconciled. I assume they wouldn't have named a twin after her if she hadn't died. Eric Brady, Sr. molestation stuff wasn't known until after the twins were born.
  16. I feel like people should be WAY more creeped out by Kristen and Brady, but they aren't. Marlena is Kristen's bff, so 🤣🤣 I am also excited about nuEJ. I just never liked EJami. Sami should be with Lucas. She was never meant to be with the Austins or EJ's of the world.
  17. It is ballsy, but I love Lumi so I am okay with it. Offscreen EJ is a drag...I really don't think Sami should be saddled with that baggage tbh. I am more of a Phloe fan, but I think Chloe is 1000 times more appropriate for Brady than Kristen. I can never get that 1997 scene of ED's Kristen telling Brady she is his new mommy out of my head.
  18. 😍 Back when Marlena/John were super hot and dead sexy. Poor Roman! Your wife actually prefers your imposter to you. The Affair is probably my favorite Days story of all time. Yeah, I am not going to judge her entire character on one person's assessment of her, especially someone who only worked with her briefly.
  19. I want to say Deidre had nice things to say about her when she passed, so I think they got along. The internet is not giving me evidence to back this up, but I remember her saying kind words about her. You know how co-workers are. I don't get a long with everyone I work with, but that doesn't mean they are bad people. I just don't like them lol. I am sure MF was fine.
  20. That makes sense. PC had good ideas: bringing back Scott and Karen, the initial interns, etc. but it never felt like a true GH spin off. Just a show that took place in the same building. It tried too hard to be glossy and fresh and it fell flat to me. I think the ingredients were there but the execution wasn't. I think it may have been better to have a show peripherally tied to GH like Labine's show. Ryan's Hope meets Bensonhurst. And people from GH could come in and out, but it wouldn't be so tied to GH like PC was. Where the events had to line up until, obviously, the show went off the rails into arcs... Idk, I could see that crashing and burning too because I wasn't terribly intrigued with Lois's 17 brothers or whatever, but I think it had the chance to be more interesting. I just love Labine's GH years as depressing as they were. I would have loved to have seen more.
  21. I cannot see him as Peter at all. JB was dead sexy. ML is not lol.
  22. I am okay with Kevin/Lucy leading a spin off, I just wonder if another couple would have worked better. Ned/Lois were more popular I think. And, assuming Rena stayed, it would have been an easier way for some of the power players of the late 90's-Sonny/Jax/Brenda and the Q's to cross over more frequently. Though I imagine I would have tired of Lois's extended Bensonhurst clan. Anyhow, I don't even know much about the Labine spin off so I could be wrong about it. I think the Kevin/Lucy/Serena/Christina stuff was fanfic as well. It seems unlikely they were setting Kevin/Lucy up for that much story. They were barely used.
  23. I totally forgot that Duke stuff. I just remember Kevin disappeared for awhile and they were divorced when he came back. Kevin/Lucy were one of my favorite pairings in the 90's, although they were more comic relief most of the time. I would take them over Laura/Kevin or even Felicia/Mac. I often wonder how wise it was to make Kevin/Lucy the leads of a spin off. They were both great actors, but were more B characters and a B coupling. I would love to know the thought process behind choosing Lucy and Kevin specifically. I wonder if the Labine Ned/Lois spinoff would have done better.
  24. Lucy and Kevin were married when they first re-appeared in 2013. They had the whole Lucy thinks John McBain is a vampire stuff and I believe Kevin and Lucy were estranged. Then Lucy had an affair with Scotty and Kevin and Lucy divorced by the time Kevin came back a year or so later. The last time they really acknowledged Kevin/Lucy was a few years ago at the beginning of the Ryan stuff. Idk, I figure it all was dropped for Laura/Kevin because GH doesn't care to play Lucy/Kevin. It would require more airtime. My first thought is they might possibly re-pair Alexis/Ned? Their one night stand came out of nowhere, and he was so prominent in that episode yesterday. It's weird they hardly touched the Sexis stuff. It's a big part of Alexis's history.
  25. Not an actual date, but she first showed up when Marlena/Kristen were in the secret room. She was looking for Susan because she got a weird message/phone call saying Susan was married to John. Then Vivian and Ivan interacted with her in her convent because they thought she was Susan. Thomas didn't show up until after everything was revealed and he/Susan/Sister Mary were trying to stop Kristen from stealing EJ in late 1997.
