  1. I really don't hate the idea of Robert/Laura especially since Luke is "dead". But I mostly probably like it because I want to extract Robert for Diane's barracuda jaws.
  2. I think the jump from Robin to Carly was a bit of a stretch for Jason. Even though he was obsessed with Michael she never felt exactly right for him. And he would constantly judge her. I can see an argument for Sonny/Lily as a logical pairing. He would have probably fallen in love with her eventually. If LM/MB had a lick of chemistry it could have been a truly viable foursome with Brenda/Jax for years. I always liked Brenda and Jax. Just because he was so different from Sonny. He was charming, rich, easy to deal with, and respected her. They had great chemistry and felt like a welcomed change from all the drama of Sonny and Brenda. I don't know if it was an endgame pairing, but I wouldn't be upset if Jax and Brenda ended up together.* *Obviously I would now because the Ingo of it all, but before that I would have been okay with it. But everyone can have a different take and Ingo makes everything a bit icky, but I was always a true blue Brenda fan and liked Jax/Brenda almost as much as Sonny/Brenda at times. Which is pretty rare because most Brenda fans have a very clear preference between Jax/Sonny.
  3. I feel like I don't even know you lol. Brenda, Lois and Robin are my top three favorites in that era in that order. Carly I am so hit or miss on. I found so much of her antics in the 90's disgusting, but I appreciate it now. Jax and Brenda had good writing in 1998 as far as their romance, it just took 75% of Vanessa's 1 year contract to get there. I think Sonny/Brenda can be a hard watch in retrospect because they are so good together, but it's so toxic. Young me ate that [!@#$%^&*] up, but adult me is a bit more icked out about the way Sonny treated her. I think the show was very open to pairing Vanessa with just about anyone. She had that bubble bath fantasy with Jagger, Jason, AJ, Sonny, and Ned as romantic interests. I would be most inclined to think the show was going to pair her with SK's AJ before a random Sonny scene at a car dealership caught fire. I wouldn't ever assume Vanessa was on the chopping block just because how strongly Mark Teschner believed in her and because they lost ASJ and CS and they needed Robin to have a friend at least lol. I would think Sonny was on the chopping block before Brenda. I hate 1997 as well. I can't stand Sonny/Brenda's reunion, the dumb origami killer story, and I haven't watched the wedding since it first aired. Not because I am so sad about it, but I find it all so cringey and have second hand embarrassment for Brenda. The walking down the aisle alone, the crying in the rain, Jason saying it was a great ride, etc. I just can't do it. I HATE the breakdown story after as well. I actually never saw Sonny's ending being more tragic. I thought it would be perfectly fitting if he was just his own worst enemy and the power he craved cost him everyone he loved and he had to live in his own misery.
  4. Thanks! I have a much clearer memory of the Fluke stuff, but I do remember having a really hard time getting through episodes because I was just so annoyed by RC. The Connie stuff really turned me off the show for a long time.
  5. Something about the way Carly needed to prove Hannah was a fed made me think they were going to go there. Not because the show was spelling it out, but she was obsessed with saving Sonny from EVIL Hannah and it felt like she cared a lot. I would have to watch the whole lead up again. I think I was still in a no Brenda induced depression at the time lol. You won't be shocked but the day Brenda "died" I took GH off my VCR timer and had a really hard time coming back. I was a VERY dramatic teenager lol.
  6. Lol This is the first time I have even heard she was involved with Ric. Ric was still around 10 years ago? I clearly know nothing about Nina, but I can't say I was very interested in GH during that period. It was mostly on in the background due to habit, not because I was concentrating on it.
  7. I don't know if it's the fact that MB and SJB just vibed with each other as actors, but I felt it coming on long before it happened. They hated one another too much. I always side eyed the OTT way they acted with one another. You are correct they did bond over quite a few things and I don't remember being shocked they slept together. I am shocked it's still a thing now, but that's another story. I would presume Steve leaving made it an easier decision because they really put a lot of groundwork into Carly/Jason as a pairing. To me, though, Carly/Sonny just made more sense in the end.
  8. I think Nina's is wealthy, but I think Sonny is really wealthy. He owns an island and has given millions to the hospital, so that makes me think he's got a lot of money. At the same time I don't think Nina needs any of Sonny's money I think I remember you talking about that before in regards to Laura. I am down for it. Stafford's first year is even a blur to me. It all gets lost to me when we bring a Michael Easton character in, Nathan, Ava...........I can't believe MS was on the show for 5 years. I would have told you a year or 2 tops lol.
  9. So, I tried to find the scene where Karen asks Brenda to be in the wedding (the first one at the conservatory that doesn't happen) and I can't find it. I swear she says something to Sonny when she finds him shot about being in the wedding and she has to get there. But it's inconclusive as of now. And Brenda could have been exaggerating her importance at the wedding or something for Sonny? Anyhow, it's more than a courtesy invite. Karen asks her to come to the wedding, she's at her bridal shower giving Karen gifts, and she and Robin spend the night with her the day before the wedding and they all crash Jagger's bachelor party. So they are pretty good friends at this point. At this moment it appears you are correct though that Brenda was just a guest. I have spent 30 years thinking the reason that Brenda wasn't helping Karen get ready was because she was in the car accident with Sonny lol. I don't really need Brenda to pay for her high school sins. I am just surprised more characters didn't side eye her for it. Karen and Brenda made up and it was all bygones and forgotten. I am sure a lot of it was just because CS and ASJ booked it out of GH quick. They get engaged and get married a week? 2 weeks? later and are off. There wasn't any reason to play the Brenda drama anymore. I have always believed Labine wanted to create Sonny for a long character arc and even though she didn't personally write it Sonny leaving Brenda at the altar was the appropriate end for the character.
  10. Fair enough. If someone asked me what Nina was doing this last decade on the show I could probably narrow down the people she dated and that's it. I couldn't really tell you a story she was involved in besides finding her lost babies and the Nixon Falls stuff.
  11. No. Let's not give Jagger more to do. Okay. Do you have anyone in mind? But why? Carly fights with every woman Sonny sleeps with. Nina is easily replaceable.
  12. I know Kevin/Laura is a nice, steady pairing and there is a place for that. Just not for these two characters. I also wish Lucy/Kevin would reunite so maybe that colors my perspective of Laura and Kevin. I just don't know who you would put Laura with at this point. Scott? Kin Shriner tends to exhaust me these days. And no one tell me Curtis even as a joke lol.
  13. I like Laura as the mayor too. Now if we are nitpicking, I would argue she ditches Kevin because I don't really love that pairing. It's fine, but so boring. Nina should have been gone years ago. I get wanting to keep CW because she brings 10X the energy of most of the male cast, but the character is crap. Sure, MB and CW have some chemistry, but like @Vee said does it really matter when you know Vanessa Marcil is out there unemployed? That's an easy slam dunk, so let's not try to shape Nina into a viable character. I would ditch Willow and Michael at this point. Give them a rest, a long stay in Paris, whatever. The thing about getting rid of Willow alone is that Michael will then be set free onto the female population of PC again. We don't want that. If CD has proved anything over the years, it's that he cannot sell a viable romantic pairing. When I am longing for the days of HookerAbby/Michael you know it's bad.
  14. Walking or not he was never the man Portia or Laura deserved.😂
  15. The Physical therapist gave some energy yesterday. I don't understand Curtis's mentality that his life is just completely over because he can't walk. Yes, I am sure it would be devasting and a large adjustment, but lots of people have normal lives in more debilitating circumstances. It honestly makes me actively root against him lol. "All I Need" is a jam.
  16. I almost feel bad for the amount of roasting we give Donnell Turner for his Laura love. Almost. Lol. I'd probably set my ring tone and alarm to Sonny/Brenda's theme if I could figure that out though so 🤷‍♀️
  17. Do you think he just wakes up to that song everyday before going to work? Because I'd like to think so lol.
  18. The Sonny/Brenda theme lives rent free in my head obviously and it's great. I think Jason/Robin had a good theme too. Those are the only two that stick out in my mind. Kind of off topic, but watching 90's GH I always wondered if GH had some sort of deal with Chris Isaak. The show plays his music so often in the early to mid 90's.
  19. Everyone knew it was Brenda and the audience absolutely did, but it always just lingered there. She strongly protested her innocence (badly), but no one ever even tried to prove it. It's a really strange character trajectory because she never paid for these crimes and just moved into heroine status because Jagger dumped her and she made up with Karen. I am not arguing it because I was team Brenda from the moment Vanessa first appeared on screen, but it is a little wonky the way it played out. I still don't think Levinson had any idea what to do with Brenda besides hot rich girl that hooks up with hot poor boy.
  20. My eyes might be blind, but it looks like she just got another face lift? Everything, especially her jaw line, just looks tighter. I am not expert on plastic surgery though.
  21. Not trying to start an argument either and I am not that concerned, but are there side by side pics from a year or so till now that actually shows she looks different? I also really don't like to speculate on someone's health. Deidre Hall is just old lol. She's not going to live forever except in my mind. When and if something happens to her I will be curled in a corner sobbing for days. I don't expect her to look 45. She certainly doesn't look like any 76 year old I know. The appalling lighting does show on everyone, IMO.
  22. Listen, I love Deidre Hall. I'd be on the case if I thought she look ill or bad. She doesn't. The lighting on days is worse than the lighting in my garage. It makes young people look bad. I don't expect a women nearly 80 to look fresh and young with lighting that amounts to a single ring light.
  23. She took naked photos of Karen in the shower after gym class and posted them around the school, so yeah. Child porn actually since Karen was a minor. Brenda used to be a very good photographer, which is a forgotten fact. But doesn't fit into the post about Brenda actually breaking the law and no one caught her so it was just 🤷‍♀️ lol Brenda was suspected of it all but I don't think it ever came out to others on screen. So I guess Brenda just lives with that lol.
  24. This poster appears to be gone lol. And thank goodness!
  25. Her face might look a bit thinner, but I honestly can't really tell if she's lost weight or not because of the wardrobe she wears. She doesn't looked hunched over or wearing comfy shoes like some of the older actresses (not to shame anyone because at 76 I would not appear on tv and live on my couch). Dee's still got her heels on and doesn't look unhealthy to me at all. At this point I don't think Deidre NEEDS the Days paycheck and is doing the show because she loves it and cares. I am not going to make fun of her appearance. I know rich coming from me as I drag GH's child cast on the regular lol. DH has just given so much to Days and I really don't think she looks unwell or odd.
