You know I can take or leave Ava and Maura West, but I will always feel like Ava is ill defined. Is she a villainess to be feared? A wacky romantic heroine? A caricature of a human? I hope PM begins to shape Ava as a character better and go with the villainous mob threat over any romantic story with Sonny. We've discussed this before, but Ava is definitely a character that has suffered from lack of motivation for years now.

Ha! Ha! That is an accurate assessment. Kate Mansi had the same WTF expression I did while watching Ava/Sonny interact. EWWWW. To the Carly triangle. I feel like we already watched various versions of this nonsense for years and I still don't get why anyone would want to deal with Carly. Unless these guys just really find good hair extremely attractive. 😂 I swear MW could be a silent film star. Her expressions are so OTT. I am not terribly familiar with her ATWT work, but from what I have seen she was slightly more subtle, but Ava is practically a cartoon character, so fair enough.

I do not need two men fighting over Carly lol. I have a hard time believing one man would tolerate her let alone two. Still giggling over Drew's shirt and the goodness of Nina/Drew. I can't wait to watch Sonny and Carly's heads explode when they find out! And I know everyone loves Maura West, but some of those faces she was making were right out of a Saturday Night Live parody like someone noted earlier. I just find Ava so campy, in mostly a good way, but I am not sure if it's intentional on MW's part.

I really didn't think there were Sonny/Nina stans. They were okay, but not the second coming of Sonny/Brenda or even Sonny/Carly. Lol So the way I always thought about Sonny was that he was intelligent, but not well educated. He just had street smarts and charisma (back in the day, not currently lol) Jason was very smart and the brain damage didn't change it, but like you said, his brain just worked differently after. I side eye him not even checking the last name Cates out, but again it's a minor detail.

I mean, sure. But we've seen Jason allowed to have both weapons and a phone. So they trusted Jason enough with a gun and electronics. You can google on a phone lol. Even burner phones have internet. Yes! Crystal could have been his sister (the girl that od'ed on heroin that presumably gave Stone AIDS). Perfect! More motivation than something that happened to Jagger's dead ex-wife.

Even that threw me because it made Jason look dumb and although Jason isn't my fave he's not an idiot. Putting aside the fact that Jason has apparently never heard of Jagger or seen a picture of him or didn't recognize the last name Cates, I can't believe he didn't do the most minimal research on his FBI handler. It's a very minor detail, but I know Karen, Sonny, Robin, and Brenda have discussed Jagger with post-accident Jason.

Yes! That's what I was remembering and I think that's why I thought he was more of a general practitioner back then. Thanks for the clarification. I thought I was crazy lol. I guess that position no longer exists these days. Very unsettling about Don Jeffcoat. KMC and Robin looked so young for so long. I wonder if soaps don't realize how young these actresses look when they pair them with older guys. I feel like Days did the same thing with a young Christie Clark as well and it just looked squicky.

I think both PAS or JV would be a great choice for the role. I am coming around on AH as an actor. I think he's doing well with the material that he is given. He's just not Jagger or anything that resembles the previous take on Jagger. I am okay with a character evolving and a different actor making the character their own, but AH's John/Jagger is a completely different character. They share the same name, but that's the only similarity. I still am curious why the show felt the need to bring Jagger back at all as AH could have played this character as someone new and done the same things. Being mad at Sonny for something that happened years ago and knowing Jason in high school doesn't really have much impact on the story thus far. An FBI agent doesn't need a deep seeded reason to hate Sonny/Jason. He could just hate them because, you know, they are criminals lol.

Melrose Place
So this is probably a hot take and I am not agreeing with how Spelling went about firing her, but I often wonder if HT's pregnancy was the straw that broke a casting that was wrong from the beginning. Once the writers starting creating the story, HT just wasn't the right fit in general. It was a stupid excuse to use and cost Spelling a lot, but I could see him being old school and thinking he could get away with it. I guess what I am saying is that I assume her pregnancy wasn't the only reason Tylo was let go. Then again a jury agreed with Tylo so I could just be spit balling theories lol

Melrose Place
Am I the only one who can't imagine Tylo as Taylor at all? Even early Taylor before she became wacky? Lisa Rinna has such a different vibe and different strengths as an actress. Of course, once they fired Hunter the character could have changed to fit Lisa more, but I can never picture HT as Taylor.

I personally hope the show ditches this surrogacy plot all together. I really don't want to go down the road of Kristina trying to keep the baby. I would have Kristina lose the baby and have Molly/TJ reassess their baby plans (offscreen). Kristina would spiral and get messy and sleep with Dex (just to make Joss cry) and Kraze would break up and the show can find a decent love interest for her.

I agree there are a lot of dated stories on GH like all the baby stories. I am not saying Blaze's situation doesn't currently exist. It's just something we have seen many times before. I am just not finding anything captivating enough about Kraze to root for them long term. I really don't mind them. They just don't have quite enough chemistry or quite enough of an interesting story for me invest in them or see them as a star pairing.

I don't mind Kraze at all, but I don't think the actress that plays Blaze is up to par with Mansi and they aren't compelling enough to be an "A" couple. I just don't care about Blaze that much and this homophobic mother story isn't helping. It just feels very dated for the year 2024. With the investment the show has put in Mansi I agree they could find someone better for her. Even when Joss is right, there is something so smug about EM's delivery that you want her to be wrong lol. I think all soaps have the same issue with villains, especially Days (Orpheus, Clyde, Kristen, etc). GH did the same thing with Nelle. They find a good actor and feel like they need to keep them forever even when the story is burnt out.

Honestly, I need to give it more than a day with the new Tate. Nothing immediately turned me off about him, but nothing was spectacular either. I agree with everyone that Holly's romantic feelings for him came out of nowhere. I can understand why she would have feelings for her after what he went through to protect her but we skipped from point A to point D in the romance without getting clear views from both Tate and Holly about the progression. I didn't really think much of Jada using Sloan as a lawyer. Jada needed a good lawyer quickly and I don't think it's crazy she called Sloan. Justin may have been a better choice, but Jada doesn't really know Justin so it's not that odd to me. I'll be honest, Leo doesn't actually bother me in scenes while he's at the Spectator. He bothers me pretty much in any other scene, but Leo objectively has a job and a purpose at the Spectator so I'd rather he do that than shop and act creepy towards Jude. I can kind of understand Everett not signing the divorce papers under a different name. I am sure he has a more ulterior motive, but considering his circumstances I can understand his hesitance, especially since he didn't have his own lawyer. The whole thing was completely sprung on him.

I think it probably could have worked with TB's Carly back in the day too. To me, it just feels like the Carly/Jason romance ship has sailed. They have had multiple partners, children, lives, and never seemed much more than friendship since the SJB days. Until the last few years I never even thought it a viable pairing that writers would consider. I could *maybe* believe Carly was in love with Jason this entire time, but I don't believe Jason was ever in love with her. And LW and SBu really have no romantic chemistry. The show does seem to be distancing Sam and Liz from their Jason days, but I see it more a sign of growth for the characters. I do feel bad for their fans though lol. I struggle to see where I would put Jason romantically at this point, but I also think Jason as a character makes sense being alone for periods of time. The Britt pairing came out of left field and worked well, so I am sure the show can figure something out.

But how would Wagger even know Jason is trustworthy if he's a completely different person? He doesn't know THIS Jason. My assumption was similar in that Jagger's previous relationship was part of the reason Jagger/Jason went along with this whole plot. As in Jason would trust Jagger a bit more because he's Stone's brother, knew his family, knew Karen/Brenda/Robin, went to high school with him etc. I could understand Jagger leaving the Sonny of it all out of it, but not their entire past.

Even if Jason never met Jagger after his brain injury I find it unbelievable he never at least saw a picture of him. I also find it crazy that Jagger didn't disclose this info to Jason even though he would eventually find out and the FBI would let Jagger be his handler considering that he and Jason had a previous past. Anyhow, it's really only a small piece of the overall plot. I just find it to be a weird writing choice.

I am not going to go back and look but I am almost positive. I find the whole thing preposterous in general because let's just leave Jason in PC where a bunch of people could be innocent targets including his children. It just makes no sense. That being said, I am still interested in how it plays out so Idk what that says about me.

Donna in her little chef outfit was so adorable! I even was able to tolerate Joss in that scene lol Jason may have gotten a knock in the head and some brain damage. I don't believe he's an idiot though. I am 99% sure he met Jagger in Night Shift too and knows Jagger Cates real name. Let's say Jason didn't meet him at all. Wouldn't the last name Cates and the Pikeman codename Stone at least ring some bells for him? The fact Jagger knew him in high school and they dated the same woman makes it absolutely ridiculous that Jagger would be his handler. But whatever... I feel like I have been watching Curtis angst over being paralyzed for approximately 10 years. It doesn't feel fast to me at all. End this now.
