  1. It's strange and I always wondered what the plan was for Dev-and, no, I don't believe he was Alec or a Sonny/Brenda long lost kid because Brenda wouldn't keep losing track of her children-hopefully. I thought maybe he might turn out to be gay/bi possibly. Idk. I think MB really pushed for the kid and convinced them to hire the Dev actor long term. Dex was hired to do Jason-y mob stuff while Jason was gone and to give Joss a love interest because Will Lipton was leaving. I think it's possible that it was to move Joss into a more adult role as well. I don't think it's much more deep than that, but watch he turns out to be Robert and Holly's son or something.
  2. I tend to believe Days tries a lot to introduce edgy young people all the time and they immediatly lose their edge. Allie, Chanel, Johnny, Ciara, even Wendy and Tripp started out more interesting. Claire might be the only recent young teen/adult who kept a tiny bit of edge. I have to agree with you that we missed a step or five from Holly not being into Tate at all and suddenly they are star crossed. As an audience we obviously knew it was coming, but there was so little time spent on Holly getting over Johnny and her deciding Tate was the one. I really don't think we got any insight on that from Holly at all. It just happened in an episode or two.
  3. Weirdly, I can understand why Jason would be so ride or die for Sonny. Sonny showed Jason a whole new world and respected and liked new/brain damaged Jason when everyone was pressuring Jason to be Jason Q. He gave him a job and helped him to get out of the Q's fold entirely. I mean, it obviously was a very dangerous and risky world, but I can see why Jason has twisted loyalty to Sonny. Carly had sex with Jason a few times and showed up at his a door with a baby he knew wasn't his and that explains a lifetime of loyalty? I know they really, really like one another but I can't really think of anything that Carly has done that has actually helped Jason. The show probably has no idea where to go with Dex so keeping the family stuff in the back pocket can make him tied to someone on the show if necessary. I feel like it's the same sort of trick they did with Dev until the show decided he was useless.
  4. I know they have established it over and over, but the question is why? Starting from the days of Jason marginalizing and disregarding his entire relationship with Robin for Carly/Michael. It has never really made sense. It was just a thing we had to accept as viewers because he loved Carly and the kid and was keeping them safe from EVIL AJ. I do think the initial point was to actually pair Carly/Jason back in the day, but 25 years later it still doesn't add up. One can only hope lol.
  5. Unfortunately yes. Back in the SJB days and Jason didn't realize that meant he was cheating on Robin. I don't even know. I don't think the show has ever really made any believable excuse to me about why Carly/Jason are that weird about one another. A lot of blah, blah about being bff and never letting one another down and so on and so forth. I have a best friend. They wouldn't buy me a hotel and/or pretend to be dead to work for the FBI to protect me. Thanks, I really do try.
  6. First off, you make a ton of great points and I am not disagreeing with you at all. But at this time all of this still seems in character for Jason/Carly. They aren't amazing people. And Jason has always put Carly first ahead of everyone for some unknown loyalty reason. If you reverse course and don't have Carly/Jason act like they aren't entirely obsessed with one another would viewers think that was totally out of character? I don't even know if there is a right or wrong answer on this. I just don't think any amount of character rehab for either character would make me forget all the previous idiotic things Jason/Carly have done and convince me they were good people.
  7. Yes exactly. All of it was corny and silly and I don't think it reflects how any 17/18 year old would act, but I also probably don't want to know how current 17 years old act either. It's also a bit silly for me to even criticize a show like Days for not being realistic enough. With the devil possession being an actual thing on the show and all.😂
  8. Agreed. Jamie Martin Mann had something. He seems much more vulnerable and young than the current Tate and I think that worked for the character. I still think AP is a find for Holly and I really don't hate the girl that plays Sophia. I just hate that the sidekicks always are a little dumb, silly, and vapid. I'll give Aaron a shot, but he was one very unnatural actor on camera. Like Charity Rahmer vibes😂 To be fair, I haven't been a teenager for a billion years, but we used to talk about the dumbest stuff and that wouldn't have been interesting or entertaining on camera so I don't know how to make teens seem real. I think soaps tend to make teens much more "wholesome" than what they actually are IRL like an afternoon special or something.
  9. I don't even hate the fact Sophia used the football incident to get Tate to take her to the prom. Whatever. Stupid soap stuff. Why was there such a long back and forth as to whether or not the football was thrown on purpose? No normal teenage boy would try to throw a football directly into a female's face on purpose, especially since these guys appear to like Holly and Sophia lol.
  10. That I'd believe as well. To circle back from the Classic GH talk maybe Dex is actually Sly and he just didn't age at the same rate as Lucky🤷‍♀️
  11. Keesha was on screen long after she and Jason broke up though. That's not even possible. Keesha didn't appear much but she wasn't gone for 9 months at a time. A Keesha/AJ child is much more plausible-and an idea I support. Also, Keesha/Jason having a child would definitely rule out Dex lol. Agreed. If Jake didn't appear alive again years ago I could probably work my way around the idea that Dex was presumed dead Jake. Not that I care much about Dex, but I could see it with him being Sonny's right hand guy for a moment. SB and Dex actor do look a bit alike.
  12. I seriously think when Jagger was cast with a blonde guy someone on the internet/twitter/facebook was all "Dex is blonde too! Obviously his son!" and it gained some traction for whatever reason. I think I've even heard Dex might be Jason's secret son, but I have no idea how that would be possible. Maybe when SB left the first time or something?
  13. So, let's even say Dex started showing some signs of neurodivergence when Jagger was cast. He hasn't at all. I'd sooner believe Spinelli was Jagger's son than Dex. And I know BA is like way too old, but I believe Spinelli is possibly autistic.
  14. Exactly, people pointed that out on here several times. I don't even know why that was a rumor. Jagger even mentioned his son was autistic his first day back so there wasn't any uncertainty that the Nightshift storyline was erased.
  15. The likelihood of Dex being Stone was so wildly slim anyhow. I am pretty sure Lois/Jagger had some scenes with ASJ and Cari Shayne briefly returned when Stone was diagnosed. I don't have actual proof at this moment but I do remember them talking at Kelly's in my mind. The show tries really, really hard to avoid any mention of Jax lol. Even if Joss or someone else is talking about him they don't even use his name. Oh well!
  16. So, yeah, Tate doesn't need to worry about paying for college and he does look too old. I sort of thought the awkward talk about student loans had something to do with Aaron possibly applying for Li's college grant Kristen set up? It was a college grant/scholarship she set up right? Lol it was such a minor detail I forgot already.
  17. I can agree with that. I don't think Guza had much interest in the type of character Tony was.
  18. I did like the Outback and Luke's and the fact people could only afford to live above Kelly's. Riche did have a lot of characters aspiring to "make it" like Jagger, Karen, Stone, even Miguel lol. It felt more grounded. Your point is spot on. Monty made it all seem mundane and boring. Jenny droning on and on about the environment and the working class is just dull, but I don't know if it's the actress or the writing, or the combo. I did find Julia/Bill to be fairly interesting. I don't know if that is Monty though.
  19. Tony had a pretty strong arc with Carly/Michael and then his breakdown although one could argue the character never really came back from that. I can agree about Jax. I think he's more B tier, but there was a pretty brief, strong push for him to be a lead when MB left and he was Brenda's main love interest. I think the investment was there after VM's 2003 departure, but once Jax tanked with Sam it was all over and he was just the default anti-Sonny guy.
  20. I am nothing if not predictable lol. She does! She may not return to daytime, but I know you will find a potential role for her somewhere😂 Poor, GT, she really did nothing to deserve the mocking I give her.
  21. I really, honestly don't hate Gina Tognoni!!! I do really hate Skye and am not sad Robin Christopher retired at all.
  22. I know it's been said before, but I think the Eckerts sound interesting in theory. If you drop the whole Tony Geary/Spencer angle and just hired a few dynamic actors for Jenny and Bill it may have worked. I personally find the working class PC stuff boring and annoying. I have no idea how relevant it was in 1991 for the audience though.
  23. The teens are incredibly awkward. Sophia seems to have a personality, but I am pretty sure they just found this Aaron guy in the parking lot lol. When he was talking to Tate about all his extra curricular activities I felt like Tate just met him in that moment at the park. Wouldn't he know all this about his good buddy? I don't know why the show is so adverse to adding obvious legacy kids like Parker and Sydney to this group. Also the Last Blast shout out felt so very Ron lol.
  24. My disdain for Skye on GH is very well known. Perhaps Skye had potential on the show she was supposed to be on-All my Children. I would rank Lois top 3 on my personal list, but she didn't really have that much time on the show or overall impact. She would be B-tier on the basis of her being popular and having a very epic romance/wedding. I won't even count birthing boring ass Brook Lynn against her. The show can't currently figure out what to do with Lois and if, say, Robin or Brenda returned they would immediately have front burner stories.
  25. I was just thinking all these actresses lead major stories regardless at different times. Skye doesn't rank at all. She is the worst. I considered Lila, but I would say she was more a matriarch figure than someone who drove story.
