  1. I sympathize with the fact that AS may be slightly insecure with her body post-pregnancy, but I said the same thing about KS. No one cares if you are stick thin-dress like a fashionable person in your age range. Both these characters are supposed to be fashionable! Brook Lynn has endless money and is successful. She can afford something other than an oversized blazer to wear. When you add that in with her completely sexless take on the role it becomes a real snooze. Chase and Brook Lynn aren't fun! This should be the best time of their life and it's not showing on screen. I get AS is not 25 anymore and her priorities change, but leave the role then. Touché
  2. Steve has been doing love scenes on Days and has been called out about a million times in these threads as well. No one is specifically picking on AS/JS. Most equate it to the same thing as Steve's stance although I don't know if he's currently against love scenes at this point. Brook Lynn/Chase don't have to be going at it 24/7, but, you know, should probably consummate the marriage on their wedding night at the very least. THANK YOU
  3. Yeah, there really isn't a "right" answer on how to solve this situation. I wouldn't outright fire either of them because their beliefs aren't wrong or awful. I think in less than a year Brook will get pregnant and the show will end up "running out of story" for both characters and let them live happily ever after off screen for awhile.
  4. I get your point. It does makes sense and it is a slippery slope with all of this. I think I'd have more sympathy if AS was newer to the business or didn't know how soaps worked. She does and chooses to openly speak out about how she basically dictates the character of Brook Lynn. To me it's still crossing the line of an actor having too much say in a character vs. a modesty issue. I misspoke. The job perhaps fits HER needs at this point, but not the shows. I think the show could do a lot better with casting Brook Lynn, but GH has many more pressing problems at this point.
  5. I'll be honest, I think it should be. No one should be forced to do anything, but at some point the job might just not fit your needs anymore. Many soap stars have been fired for less. I could see if it was really objectionable content, but two married fictional people faking a fictional love scene for a few minutes does not cross that line for me. But at least there would be a free role for GT to take if AS gets the boot! 😂
  6. Yup. Robin/Jason didn't have love scenes for years because of obvious reasons. They weren't overtly hot like, say, Sonny/Brenda, but they had passion and love and tenderness that was visible and you believed their love. It's not impossible to do. JS/AS just seem overtly against even showing that undercurrent. Perhaps it's out of respect for their partners. I am truly not judging anyone for their beliefs, but at some point the line has to be drawn. This just isn't the job/pairing/lifestyle for you if that's how you want to portray yourself on camera.
  7. I can see that. She was pretty obnoxious. I just thought she was perfect for Sonny's bratty daughter. I do think Mansi is great though and absolutely love what she is doing with the role even if I didn't like yesterday's take in particular. I think it's more AS than JS. JS was fine doing love scenes with Willow. I think Josh is just respecting his co stars choice and beliefs. Which is nice, I suppose.
  8. I loved LA's Kristina from the start. I loved the implied slow burn with her and Ethan as a couple, I thought she did great with the Kiefer story, and I just thought she had good chemistry interacting with her family. Morgan as a recast felt like a slap in the face to LA. LA is the youngest looking adult woman in the world. I get that. It was a clear choice to go sexy and mature with LM. Saddling Kristina with Konnie's rape baby Trey was a really bad choice, but I do think LM's Kristina and Trey were given a bit of a raw deal and both had more potential than they were allowed to show. The coupling is such a bore. Chase/Brook Lynn seem more like good buddies than in love. They've never had a ton of chemistry, but in the very beginning they had a bit of a spark. The problem isn't actually the love scenes. Plenty of couples can smolder without any love scenes on screen. They don't. There isn't even any implied sexiness or heat in this pairing.
  9. I am fine with erasing the Mob Princess era too I guess. I just am of the mind that Kristina is smarter than all this although I know some disagree with that. I don't remember LM being as bad as everyone makes her out to be now, but I didn't like her much. I do have a soft spot for LA though.
  10. Yeah, I definitely see it as a bit naive and overdramatic. Kristina leaned in to being a mob princess with the recast between LA's stints. She made a reality show about it lol. I could see Kristina being disappointed and feeling stupid for defending Sonny, but not entirely hysterical and shell-shocked like she was. It's not an awful story nor do I hate the idea, it's just hard to wrap my head around such a retcon. It makes Kristina look a little dumb.
  11. I think LA's Kristina would have played it much differently. More resigned and nuanced as she knows the characters history better. That's not a knock at Mansi. I think she's doing wonderful and probably played the scene as written. I just got the sense that KM really thought Kristina had no idea what her father does and this is the first time she's ever seen him do anything like that. The hysterics were extreme for a 30 year old woman who's known her father was a mobster basically her entire life lol.
  12. I thought Laura/Stefan were a pretty good pairing too. GF/SN had decent chemistry. I obviously knew it was an obstacle for L/L and they would reunite eventually, but TG/GF already seemed to be tiring of one another by then. I am going to assume Mansi doesn't know a ton about Kristina's history. Kristina was almost blown up in a car bomb meant for Johnny a decade ago. LA's Kristina pretended to be with Johnny just to get a reaction out of him. She's pretty wise to Sonny's volatility. We can assume Kristina thought Sonny had changed, but I feel like Mansi played as if it was the first time she's ever seen violence out of Sonny. I don't think Mansi did a bad job. I just don't think she understands that Kristina's childhood and young adult life has been littered with instances of Sonny's mob related violence.
  13. Is GH even trying to go for a younger viewer? Soap operas are the least progressive medium and I don't think they were trying to follow a trend. I agree that the big wedding was just because there was literally no one else to give it to. Plus, add Lois in and you had to give her something to do I suppose. Right? I don't even want a Brook Lynn/Chase love scene, but that was weird. I am sure it happens in real life being just so exhausted from a wedding and all, but I have never seen it happen on a soap.
  14. Lol! They didn't even appear to have sex on their wedding night? Brook lynn got into her huge robe and jammies and it looked like they just talked, ate, and cuddled. Like wtf?
  15. I am glad I read this thread before I started the episode. Violet in the opening scene then Brook Lynn in a huge bathrobe on her wedding night almost made me tune out. Is the show behind because of pre-emptions? It seems weird to kill off a character on a Monday. Also, Jason running after Sonny and calling Carly instead of helping bloody Dex made me laugh for some reason.
  16. OMG! Violet has a mother. Just send her to Hayden. At this point even if religion does play into it-Brook Lynn and Chase are married. They can do a few make out scenes and have their sheets up to their chest. GH's love scenes have been tame for years. To me Chase/Brook Lynn don't even imply sexiness. Some couples are hot even without any extended love scenes. They are not lol.
  17. They both can "dip out" or leave basically.
  18. Fixed it for you! It's not cute or precocious or anything it's supposed to be. It's an obnoxious child singing while every other adult actor in the room has to pretend like it's amazing.
  19. AS has never really found her place as BLQ, IMO. She was quite charismatic and charming in other roles, but I kept waiting for it to happen on GH. It hasn't and I will just say dump her as well at this point.
  20. Yup. I can see drawing a line at nudity or something like that, but GH's love scenes are mostly tame af. It's not like it's OnlyFans or something. If your teenage children can't understand that acting is fictional then you have more issues with parenting than a few chaste kisses and rolling around on some sheets on camera lol. Great American Family or whatever should have AS and JS on speed dial. That feels like a good place for them.
  21. I don't see anything in their comments that imply it has a religious base. It absolutely could, but I am just going off the actors comments and religion isn't mentioned at all. They are just saying they don't want their kids to see their love scenes in 13 years. Which 1. AS and JS would be lucky if their GH clips are on you tube in 13 years lol 2. You could just tell your teenage children it's fake and part of your job at that point lol. I am sure a 15 year old or whatever could grasp that. It's all weird. I am not knocking anyone's beliefs or standards, but find a job better suited to your needs then?
  22. IIRC, Setton said her modesty was out of respect to her husband and neither her nor Josh wanted to do love scenes. I don't think I even heard religion come into the discussion (although I am sure that plays a part). It was a bit of a strange take because Amanda and her husband had to realize her income comes from being a soap actress and it generally requires love scenes. I do wonder if AS's weight gain after having her kids has affected her wanting to do love scenes as well. I don't want to appear like I am bashing her or anything, but these buttoned up looks seemed to appear once she came back from maternity leave.
  23. Sonny was still propped, but I thought Carly did have moments of introspection especially during her eat, pray, love journey to Florida. Not sure if that was strike material though lol.
  24. UGH. Nina is so much better off without Sonny. Walking on eggshells near tears all the time did not suit CW as an actress at all. I mean, all Drew has to do is tell the town of PC/state of New York he once dated Carly. I imagine citizens of upstate New York would just nod and say "checks out" and move along. I assume even nameless PC residents are wise to Carly's antics at this point lol.
  25. It's so much better than watching Nina beg Sonny for forgiveness or watch Drew with Carly.
