  1. Oh My God, that would have been rock bottom for daytime as a whole. 😂 Your comment is spot on! Copy-Paste ER.
  2. It's time someone did a Blake-Lively on Daytime. We need to hear what happened.
  3. And what do you think of this 1996 intro? 🙃
  4. I'm still waiting for Krista Allen to write a Tell All. Getting the boot after a fresh Emmy nomination and being invited to a cast photo... is something I want to read more about. The dynamics and the situations that led to all of this. I have my version in my mind, of course, but would love to read it from the woman herself. That's just a dream of mine, she's not obliged to do it of course, Krista doesn't owe us anything. I just... have these scenes in my mind.
  5. And this my friend... is something I am truly envious of (not the bad bitter envy, but looking through a window thinking - ah, how I want this for myself too-envy). ❤️ And I agree about Carmen being a perfect replacement. She did a different take on the character, which is important after you follow such a L - E - G -E - N - D. Beverlee will be THE Iris. She embodied her 100 percent. There is no doubt in my mind. I find myself completely satisfied with Carmen's version too. Even my husband who is very critical of actors on soaps (I am more forgiving than him) thinks she's the best in the show in the episodes we are watching right now. He loves to hate her. And that is a huge compliment to Carmen's ability. If I have to be honest - from what I've seen from the OG Iris and comparing her to Carmen-Iris - Beverlee played a more sinister and cold version. With a romantic twist of course. She still makes you smile and laugh, but it's more... smile... at the level of superiority she exhumes and the way she dominates people and scenes. Carmen's version is a perfect late 80s antagonist in my eyes, her version makes me laugh like hell. I find her more Disney-Cruella-over-the-top, but not in a bad way. I love both of them. AWHP really is the place that we would not be able to survive without. I find myself constantly visiting that site. It's in my first bookmarks. And here is another statement that in 1996 things were quite worse than the late 80s. Was it De Priest who was writing the show in 96 or am I mistaken? I have a bad experience with her writing so far.
  6. Maybe we can sell both our souls in a package... if anyone is buying... if it's going to up our chances of getting these episodes. 😂 Joke aside - I will truly lose hope only when I'm not alive and breathing. Till I am... I will look forward to some day waking up and seeing someone has uploaded a large collection of 70s episodes. I like to believe in the impossible. I would even settle for scripts only... I have to do my research on that... I would settle for only reading scripts from that era.
  7. Ah, that infamous prostitute Modesta... she was a lot of people's first I assume, since SoapNet started airing the episodes from that moment. Thank you for sharing this with me! And I really feel petrified of the thought that... by 1996 AW was looking like DAYS. I don't want to say anything bad about DAYS, but... I'm scared. Which era of DAYS did it resemble? 😂 The context is in the details.
  8. Oh my! 1964! Wow! And you started watching regularly just when the magic went in full speed - 1971! You saw the original Iris in her full glory! And... I appreciate your definition and description of Lemay's writing style. I've experienced a few of his episodes from 1988 and... Your description fits the bill. Psychological, multi-dimensional, authentic... I would sell my soul to go back in time and watch in 1971 too. I'm so sad I'm only 29, going on 30 years old... 😂 This will be an honor to be a part of! A journey in Another World.
  9. Wow, this is truly amazing! I can't even process that I'm communicating with a person who watched AW from 1967 and was grown enough to remember and appreciate it! I am equally jealous and equally impressed and full of respect for you. All I know is that I'm going to treasure your experience with the show... and take everything you share with a special dose of trust - your eyes have seen some of the most treasured moments in soap opera history. Your ears have heard some of the most amazing dialogue that's even been written. I am in awe. Thank you for going on that walk down memory lane. This is the exact response I was dreaming of reading. ❤️
  10. Guys I wanted to ask all of you this a lot of time, but I always forget to do it (ADHD). What period of the show... was your introduction to it... For me, it's obviously - late 1988. Even thought I have watched 5 episodes from 1987 - you saw me struggle! And I have watched couple of episodes from 1991 years ago, but I don't remember anything other than that I told myself how amazing this show looks and sounds and how I dream that one day there will be more episodes available. And it happened! Ha! So yes... what was your moment of starting to watch - what years, what era, what head writer?
  11. I don't know why, but I always gasp when I see Camille Grammer on this show. I'm watching BH's newest episode, since I'm kinda late on it... and I just saw her and... yeah... gasped. I have to investigate why I do that. 😂
  12. Me giving my absolute minimum at engagement when on the phone with an annoying relative. 😂
  13. Another World, December 28 1988 In one sentence - No good deed goes unpunished. Now, let's begin, shall we. Mary, acting like the good psychiatrist she is, surprised Pilara with an unexpected gift - she offered to give her the other silver candlestick, so that she can sell it for more money. Of course, this was a beautifully crafted psychological tactic which caused an inner struggle for Pilara, who started debating if she should return the stolen one. Mary played with her guilt. The glimpses of remorse were however overshadowed by the arrival of Pilara's abusive boyfriend, who gaslit her back to surrender and even ominously hinted that he has something coming for Mary and her family. In a very bitchy scene, we had Vicky extending a helping hand to cold and irritated Lisa. Vicky wanted to relate to her in some way and she made the mistake of saying - It's not my fault we fell in love with the same guy. (Or something like that) To which Lisa replied - Too bad you had to get pregnant to get him! Ouch! That must have hurt! And that pain continued for Vicky, when... Jamie seeing Lisa in some kind of distress... ran to her rescue - IN FRONT of his pregnant fiancé. 😂 In the follow-up to this scene, Lisa completely shattered Jamie and his attempt at sympathy... with the words - I wish you are miserable with her. My husband and I cheered! That's the kind of woman I want to see and not the usual soap opera... crying, begging damsel in distress. Iris was extra stunning today - dressed in purple, dripping in jewelry, sporting a hairdo that only Joan Crawford can pull off. Her new goal and main focus right now is Donna's husband and creating circumstances for him to be around her. Of course veiling all that wickedness with fake charitability - she wants to impress Michael by giving the hospital a huge donation. Michael, Michael, Michael - that is all that she sees right now... and Evan, the escort, is not needed anymore - she gave him the cold shoulder once again and send him on his way to Amanda - to continue his seduction attempt. Talking about Amanda - she decided it's time to put her journalistic plan in action and go on the date in research for her article. Sam was not approving and even expressed caution for what kind of person she may encounter. He told her that there are all kinds of psychos out there. And he is right! Later in the day, while Amanda was already on her date with the guy, Sam, the macho guy that he is, lost his sh't... got red in the eyes, full of rage and jealousy. He ended the episode by punching the guy out of the frame. Oh, testosterone! How handy you come sometimes and how useless at others. Overall - 10 out of 10. Favorite moment - Lisa putting Jamie in his deserved place! Bye, Jamie! ssss.mp4
  14. Absolutely weird. I will sleep with one eye opened with a cat like this. 😂
  15. I don't know why but lately... before I open this topic... I get flashbacks to Fashion House episodes, I hear cringe theme music ideas, and now... I will be hearing some guy's 20 minute monologue bashing a show he hasn't even seen a minute of. Maybe it's time to refresh my ignore list. New Year - new list. ❤️
  16. Why do we crucify ourselves?
  17. That woman is soooo beautiful my God.
  18. @Contessa Donatella
  19. I agree. I doubt it too. The SoapNet episodes have mean duration of 42-43 minutes. There's really not any indications of anything cut.
  20. Spot on, as usual. I have nothing to add. I just love I'm not the only one that thinks all of this. Especially the last part about Brooke - she is the disappointment of 2024. I can't root for this woman anymore, if she'll act like this.
