But at this point, when the children are almost the same age as their parents... Smitty should be able to do whatever he likes. F-ck, he never should have agreed to an arraignment like that... but... I am not judging him - he was probably gaslit into believing that was the best at the time. But now... Martin just can't take having an equal partner. That's the problem. His ego and his selfishness won't allow it. He wants someone he can boss around and dominate. Someone who is completely dependent on him. Knowing dynamics like these... Smitty probably has a form of Stockholm syndrome by now... He needs help. With people like Martin... it's almost like a sect. Once you are in, you can't get out. It would have been better if the children were smaller, so that a future custody battle could have given us drama... and also... if the actor that plays Martin could act.
