  1. ^^ If that is true I wonder what the implications will be. If one can get re-infected will it be possible to relax the restrictions which have been implemented before a vaccin is produced? Will concerts be possible, or sporting events? Will theatres be able to re-open? This could have severe repercussions for a very long time.
  2. My viewing has been...hmm, let's call it sporadic (), the last months. But since I'm currently home sick I thought I'd look in and see where we're at in the episodes airing here. And it didn't take me more than half an episode to remember why this show infuriates me so much now.... Dingles everywhere. Apparently we're right after Graham's death now, and Marlon's been arrested for his murder. Now, I don't know if this is just me reading too much into it, but at one point it almost felt like the show was poking fun at the Dingles and their frequent visits to jail. (That can't be right though, can it? Making fun of the Dingles? ). April wanted to visit her father and she asked Belle what it was like inside, and it almost felt like it was a sly dig at the fact that almost every Dingle has been arrested at some point. Much like a later scene where Paddy was unsure what he could bring Marlon when they visited, and Chas immediately thought of chocolate (something he could use for bargaining), showing that this was a situation she was very familiar with. (Which frankly Paddy should be too, considering how long he's been involved with the Dingle clan) But the thing that actually made me switch channels was a scene in the Woolpack. Kim and Jamie came in for a drink, and Chas and Mandy stood behind the bar (uugh, it makes me ill to even write that) and acted like some moral pillars of virtue. It was nauseating. Kim left and Jamie defended her, saying that Marlon was the one who was arrested, not Kim. Then Belle showed up and in a shocked voice asked Jamie if he was accusing her cousin of murder.... and Jamie just stood there! The obvious retort would have been that they're accusing his mother of murder, but no... not a word. It made me want to throw something at the tv. The hypocrisy of the Dingles is very much alive and it was always one of their worst traits (among the many, many, many, many others....) I can't stand the sight of them anymore. They make me sick to my stomache.
  3. Wow, I didn't think it was possible to be that stupid! My mistake...I should have learned by now never to underestimate Donald Trump.
  4. Seriously, what kind of infantile behaviour is this? If you don't like what someone is posting then just ignore them, instead of acting like a five year old child.
  5. I know it's wrong, but sometimes I just want to say: Go Covid-19!!
  6. Fine, then he can stay at home and feel good about not taking any vaccin, while the rest of us get on with life.... I have very little sympathy or understanding for people like that. If they only put themselves in danger that would be one thing, but people like that are responsible for the re-emergence of diseases like measles.
  7. No, I hadn't seen it, but thank you. Those were the days..... I can't believe those amateurs in the comments who don't remember every single one of those in the picture.... They are all ingrained in my memory.
  8. The 1990s were still very much watchable. The Dingles hadn't begun to monopolize the show the way they did later, and back then I still had hope that they would be written out sooner than later. Boy was I wrong! I used to wish that Kathy, and other beloved characters, would return to rescue the show, but now I've given up those ideas. The show is most likely beyond rescue by now, and will remain Dingle-infected to the bitter end....
  9. I've been binge-watching the first season of The Muppet Show (the original from the 1970s) and am about to start on season 2.
  10. Here are some statistics from Sweden for that idiot Bolsonaro to ponder: Confirmed Covid-19 cases: women: 51,5 % (6143 vs 5784 men) Treated in intensive care: women 25 % (241 vs 713 men) Deaths: women 43 % (517 vs 686 men)
  11. Are you by that implying that we do want to risk people's lives? Because if you do I find that rather insulting. We've chosen a different tactic than other countries have, and so far it has worked just as well as yours. You're reading way too much into what I wrote.
  12. Thanks for your concern, but I'm fine. I just felt I had to clear up some misunderstandings about the way we have handled this situation. I know that we seem to have a higher ratio of deaths in relation to confirmed cases than many other countries, but we probably have a larger amount of unconfirmed cases than most as well, since we haven't done any widespread testing so far. We have concentrated more on testing high-risk groups to ease the pressure on our health-care system. Instead we've been asked to stay at home from work when you experience even the slightest symptoms, and stay at home until you've been symptom-free for two whole days. Another aspect is that of the 870 deaths we've had reported so far, 88% have been 70 years or older, and the vast majority of those have other illnesses. So it is not entirely certain that Covid-19 was the cause of their deaths. They had the virus in their bodies when they died, but the actual cause of death could very well have been something else. But they are included in the statistics anyway.
  13. It's fascinating how we've become the object of such interest from the rest of the world.... But it feels like there are some misconceptions on how we've handled this pandemic here in Sweden. I get the feeling that some people think that we haven't done anything and are living as normal, and that is not completely true. Our government hasn't forbidden people from going outside, and most businesses are still open. Congregations of more than 50 people have been banned however, and high schools and universities have closed and the students work from home. There is also a ban on visiting retirement homes, since the elderly have shown themselves more vulnerable to this disease Apart from that we've mostly had recommendations, but most people here do listen to the experts. Many people are working from home, and social distancing have become the norm. Bars and restaurants have reduced the number of guests on their premises, and some shops have put a limit to how many customers they allow inside. All unnecessary travelling is also discouraged, and that seems to have been respected for the most part. The Easter holiday is usually a period with lots of travelling, but not this year. Only time will tell which method, ours or most other countries, have been more succesful. There will come a time, in the probably not so distant future, when other countries will have to relax their rules, and we'll see what happens then. I know that Norway, Denmark and Austria have started to relax their rules somewhat. You cannot keep an entire population under lock and key forever. The society will collapse if you do that. Will they have been able to stop the virus spreading, or will it start to spread again when people come out of their confinement....?
  14. I can agree with most of this, except the bolded part. Liv may not be a Dingle technically, but she is one of the worst, if not the worst, non-Dingle the show has ever had, so she will have to meet the same fate. Preferably in a most gruesome way...... 😈
  15. I just saw a clip with Trump, and apparently we're suffering really badly here in Sweden..... Strange.... He must have a very different definition of the word "suffering" than I do, and probably most everyone else who is actually living here in Sweden.
