  1. I heard the same thing. SOD did a brief article on that. Something about attempts to save shows or reboots. They said Bell was tired of the recasts and he said if one more person decided to leave, he would write out the entire Brooks family, so when Jamie Lyn Bauer chose to leave, he wrote them all out. I especially wish Leslie and Lorie could have stayed, but I am not a big recast fan so I understand. I still want Lorie back and Bauer is willing.

  2. There's Linda Cristal at the end.

Too bad they won't do Heather/Scotty again instead of the trash with Luke.

Same here. This seems to be the best time to bring Scott back. Bring on some more Qs and have Scott and Heather scheme against them again.

  3. Thanks so much Carl for sharing these. I love seeing the ratings from these times. They really do fluctuate a lot too, but when you actually had a lot of soaps on doing their best, I suppose I can understand that because there are so many I would be watching myself.

  4. By the way, does anybody know if DAYTIME TV publish several issues with the complete story of OLTL in the years1973-1976 as it did with SFT, LOL, GH, GL...??

I was wondering the same thing. WeLoveSoaps posted several of them and One Life was the only one without it. They do such a great job recapping the shoows stories.

  5. August 1972 Daytime TV casting news.

Al Freeman, Jr. rejoined the cast on April 24 in his role of Lt. hall. Marilyn Chris moved over from All My Children and is now playing Wanda Webb, a waitress. She

    started May 3rd.

Its so cool to have their first airdates, thanks for sharing. I wonder if this means Al Freeman actually joined in 1971.

  6. That is a little weird. From what I know, she had been more of a recurring character, although equally important in story through Brad, Karen, Jenny and the baby. Also, the Clint and Echo story would soon be on and he would stand trial for "murder".

  7. Thanks for posting more of the recaps Carl. I see this is the beginning of the end for Pat and another odd period for the show.

Considering Karen was about to become a hooker and Lana would soon kill herself, it is off someone would write to them.

  8. Thanks for that. Yeah I noticed a difference in 1994, but after 1998 there was a bigger drop in quality for me. Maybe Bill had more control until that point.

I checked my SOD from 1993, they start referring to Brad as head writer in the May 11 1993 issue which was out Apr 27 1993. So may be Mar/Apr 1993 as the issue previous still has him listed as supervising producer.

They also mention a few months before that Brad and Maria Arena Bell were trying to get their own soap off the ground called Coming of Age, maybe when that failed Bill gave Brad the head writer position.

    Thanks for the help yr9190.

If I'm not mistaken, I think that Bill stayed with B&B into 1995 as executive producer, then Brad took everything over and as you said, that's when you could really tell.

  9. I love this storyline! I wish more of it was posted. I know Dorian's side of it is, but not Tina's. And later, Asa and Tina had to work together to save Kate and Cord when they returned to get treasure. Those scenes must have been awesome, I love the idea of Tina and Asa working together.
