I have seen a clip of her and RJ talking and her willing to get to know him and I enjoyed it. But her becoming obsessed with Antonio and the mother angle really just makes it seem they had no idea what they were doing. Thanks for the feedback!

Did anybody like Keri Reynolds? I was looking back over the early 2000s and I was intrigued by her being RJ's daughter and her relationship with Antonio but her final stories and exit sound horrible.

I think Andrea Evans said at one time that her hair color differs based on the location. When she is in NY its more red and in LA, its more blonde.

Cher1989 you are so lucky to have seen that storyline. I would love to see something from it. It does seem to be the story that got the show on the map, but OLTL was so obviously different from other shows when it premiered.

I would love for Destiny to be Carla's granddaughter. Destiny has really grown on me in the recent months as I used to find her boring. Carla's also a judge, a former DA and a lawyer, it isn't that hard to fit her back into the ongoing story.
The same goes for Larry, whose a doctor, since it doesn't seem he is coming back either.

Thanks for posting the Ellen Holly interview. I really wish we could see Carla one more time. Or at least Ellen Holly acting again.

I agree Carl. I am very disappointed Andrea didn't get to be a part of the Mendorra 1990 story. I think it would have been great. Although they did still do a great job fitting Sarah and Megan in there. Carlivati made Mendorra a joke in 2008. Putting Cain, Antonio, Talia and Sarah, who never felt like Tina and Cord's daughter in that didn't help any either.
Didn't Carlivati originally have a different story for Tina's return though? When I went back and read a TV Guide News story on Tina's return it was previewing something completely different and better for Tina.

I wish she did but only Ed came back. It was only for one episode to testify on Jared's behalf. And Jared and Rachel's relationship was very backburner.

I definitely think they would have lasted longer if they did expand past 30 minutes but they would still have to deal with NBC and P&G as Another World did.

I agree about them doing the soap on budget and it looking great. I think I prefer the 15-30 minute soap. If OLTL and AMC ever make it online, they should reduce the time and then when they air on TV, they can be an hour as an experiment.

I agree Khan. I love Ellen Holly's work and would love to see Carla back in Llanview and it would be easy to fit her in as a judge or the new DA and her ties to the Buchanans but between her book and attitude it would never happen. It seems to be the same with Victoria Rowell and as it turns out, the two seem to be friends.

That's the exact same thing I wanted! It would have been a great way to bring back so many fan favorites pre-1985, as well as Cassie since Jenny was her stepmother. It seems Viki won't be getting her own big leading story before the show ends, but her supporting story with Clint has been good.

The story with Melissa and Matt sounds wonderful and so realistic. I would love to see something like that told on a soap today.

Thanks for posting more of these older articles Carl! Ellen Holly always complained about not being invited or involved in anything, I wonder if that had anything to do in her not showing up.
And speaking of Brynn Thayer, having Jenny Wolek be alive would have been a great way to bring Karen and Larry back but Ron only focuses on certain eras. I know Brynn said to Digest that she would love to go back in 2008 and she is appearing on Days Of Our Lives soon too.

I know she said they only use her when Tuc Watkins is available. Ron Carlivati ruined so many characters but Dorian was the worst of them all.

I know, they had various cast changes and the stories ranged from bizarre to more relationship based. You always post some wonderful articles I never even knew existed I appreciate them all!

Thanks for posting that article Carl. I love to see what the magazines thought about the shows back then.

Thanks Carl. I know I read somewhere that those few months he was there set up all the good story Donna Swajeski got credit for. Then I read in an interview last year he wanted to tell a controversial story of children being in a work camp. I wish P&G would have let him stay and tell that. It sounds groundbreaking.

Does anyone know what stories of Harding Lemay's actually aired when he briefly came back in 1988?

Thanks Paul Raven! Lisa was always in danger it seems but I think I read somewhere that Eileen Fulton likes to play danger, but doesn't like playing Lisa as played (the whole Martin Chedwyn story)

Thanks saynotoursoap and CarlD. I was wondering why they would tell such a serious story without Kathy in the role. Although the same goes for Jennifer's death but they couldn't help it either way.
Does anyone know anything more about the Gil Stallings story? I know he tampered with Lisa's brakes and trapped her in a fire at the bookstore, but what else did he do?

Does anyone know if Kathryn Hays was playing the role of Kim at the time she lost her memory in the tornado? Soapcentral has another actress in the role from February 75 to January 1976.

I always think Irna Phillips is wonderful, but some of the stuff she comes up with is just crazy. I definitely didn't know that she planned to have Liz burn to death. She definitely hated the character. I like the story they got out of Liz falling up the stairs though.

Thanks for that wonderfully detailed summary saynotoursoap! It seems Andrea did stay scheming for longer than I thought. Soaps were so much more creative back then. The thouht of Andrea lying about her overdose being accidental would never happen on a soap today.

Thanks for putting that up Carl! It was great to see who was in the cast for 1974. They would have several new characters by the next year too.
